I booked the cruise through priceline, so after calling disney about booking transfers from and to the airports, they told me i needed to call priceline. They're 65USD round trip for those who haven't gotten them yet. Just call either disney or your travel agent to set it up:-) It officially feels like my trip is booked! So excited... now to figure out my FE and gifts...

I'm so glad! Now we'll be twins (almost) if I can find my fan that I bought at TDS at FL Mall a while back. They were on clearance and DH and I both picked one up.
They're the ones with the floppy blades, but they work really well!!

Can we come up from steerage now???:worship:

I FOUND IT!!!! :cool1: It was in the camping section of all places. Now I don't have to worry about fanning myself all the time and it works great!!!:yay::banana: Now I won't look like I just got out of the shower everytime I step outside:donald:

Of course I meant to do this the first time, but forgot!!:lmao:

Just an FYI, for future reference, for anyone driving a rental from the port to MCO and needing a fill-up.

When you get to the airport, instead of exiting into the airport, exit north on Hwy436/Semoran Blvd and go a couple of miles up Semoran. DO NOT stop at the 1st gas station on the right - that's the one everyone goes to before returning rentals, and they gouge. Continue up the road, and you will find gas stations with more reasonable prices. Turn around and go back south on Semoran, which will take you straight into the airport.

Welcome to all our new cruisers ... it almost seems like we could fill the ship just with DIS'ers on this cruise :goodvibes

We have some like this, you can use with or without water and just clips to our waist, especially nice in the Parks

Welcome aboard!

in order to post a photo, you need to upload it to a hosting site such as photo bucket. Grab the image link and go to "UserCP" on the menu bar above - go down to "edit avatar" and paste the link into option 1. There are also8 pages of clip art choices to use, instead.

It's a long way from Tortola?

My roommates and I will be collected by one of their daughters in a rental car and going to Bay Lake Towers. I'm sure Disney will have transfers from port to the airport and probably also to WDW. Have you checked with them?

Disney will have a transfer at a cost of $35 per person, which I don't think is too bad. They will transport to all Disney hotels.

Definitely AVOID SUNCOAST ENERGYS gas station! They charge SEVERAL DOLLARS PER GALLON extra. This is the one that is on the right as you go north on Semoran Blvd.

It looks like the 7-11 just off the Beach Line Highway should be a fairly easy on/off at Exit 8 (when coming from WDW).

I used the BP at Exit 13 (when coming from Port Canaveral) - just off the Beachline. Quick return to the highway and off at Exit 11 for the airport.

Supposedly they are now required to post their prices outside of those gas stations so you know what you are getting yourself into.

:rotfl: I guess you can come up with the rest of us now. Especially since your DH was giving me a hard time about that today.:rotfl2:

I had heard that, but they didn't have them posted when we were there in December. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get around it by posting on a teeny, tiny sign.

Oh, I wouldn't either. Anything they can do to get the unsuspecting tourist. They do that around Disney property too because people assume it will be cheaper then on property but since Hess took over the prices on property are very competitive.

I like the Hess station on property - and its little market has very reasonable prices, too (if you've got a car). I can get my Smart Food popcorn there (as though I were hungry enough to eat it).

I saw an article from June 2011 that they were considering fining gas stations $250/day for not having prices posted.

...Here's a website that shows the flight arrivals for the current date, which will at least give you an idea of what flights are coming in along with the types of aircraft: http://www.joyceprince.com/maho_beach.htm...

Looked at that page and then used Kayak to "price tickets" to find out which flights are arriving on September 20, 2011. There could be a JetBlue flight, but I couldn't find a ticket and didn't bother going to OAG to see the schedule for that month. They are listed as coming in from JFK at 2:12 pm today (Tuesday, July 19).

1100 ... KLM ... Amsterdam ... 747 **

1330 ... Air France ... Paris ... A340 **

1333 ... USAir ... Charlotte ... 757

1340 ... AA ... Miami ... 757

1545 ... Insel Air ... San Juan ... MD83

** these are the two big-boy jets; the 757 and MD83 are narrow-body jets. There are various island hopper prop planes, too.

Looks like optimal viewing would be between 1:30 and 1:40 pm. Our ship leaves at 5:30pm and the bridge between Maho Beach and the ship is open (lifted up - blocking traffic) at 3:30.

I bet they are getting close to making room assignments as I wonder how many people are still booking. What I got the feeling from the person who called me from DCL is that there was an existing booking that needed another room due to adding more people, not a new booking.

Just my thoughts...

I was thinking the same thing about bookings, esp. since DCL no longer offers the great GTY fares. I'm sure the cabin assignments will be coming soon (she says wistfully ).

This is all very helpful information....THANKS!

Not at all .... I was driving the cheapest lowest smallest option ... a chevrolet Aveo ... very nice to drive actually, I had only used just over half a tank but they charged me for the full tank. I may send Budget an email to query it as it does seem unreasonable. At the time I just needed to get on with things so I didn't give it much thought.

Wow Sarah that is silly - I don't think we've ever been charged that much. I hope you get something sorted as I think they've over charged you a little bit;) They might of charged you for something else as well as gas.

Once you experience DCL it will be tough to sail on any other line! This will be our 3rd DCL cruise :love:in the last 9 months...we are addicted!
Welcome to the thread

Good morning fellow Trannies.

Don't get me started on gas prices.....they are ridiculous over here. :headache:

Jacqueline sending you lots of love & well wishes for today. :wizard:

It all stems back from months ago when I was saying I hadn't bought anything for the cruise other than one top & a new pair of sandals, then someone on here said well we will be able to spot you on the ship.

:lmao::lmao:

Well, I took the plunge and ordered them for $315.00. Now I am just praying they are authentic. They looked authentic, had the Ugg Jimmy Choo label on the heel. Say a prayer they are real. I hate being taken, it really makes me mad. Thanks so much for the link. I will let you know.

Fantastic news Sue, sorry for encouraging you to spend a fortune :rotfl: I hope you love them when they arrive :cool1:

Both DH & I can't fall asleep without the TV on. Years ago it used to be the radio now it's the TV. So we should be ok.

We like the TV on too, DH was fed up last WBTA as I had all the Lost re-runs going all night :thumbsup2

We've been busy lately, and we finally have summer weather hear on the Black Sea. We went to the sea to swim a couple of times already, but it's still really cold.

I wish I could find some of those cool shoes here, but there is no good quality shoes. I've bought shoes here and the first time I wore them they broke. :rotfl:

Oh well, I'll just have to admire all you guys' lovely shoes. Actually, maybe I could quickly look for something in Barcelona before we go to the port. :rotfl:

We live in a very small town with not very many big stores in the area, all my shoe shopping is done online :surfweb:

Hello
I have just spent the last 2 days reading your past threads 2010 to catch up and acquaint myself. We booked this WBTA while on the EBTA in May 2011, but confirmed it a few days ago, making sure we could swing it with vacation dates.
I will be traveling with my DD (8), while DH is unavailable. For this reason we were uncertain until a few days ago if we should go or not.
My name is Nancy and my daughter is Nancy-Paris. We are from Toronto Canada. This will be our 3rd DCL (#1: August 28/10--Med, #2: May 14-28/11
#3: Sept 10-24/11. We haven't bought our plane tickets but I'm looking at either arriving same day (noon) on a direct flight or a day early landing in Portugal since baggage allowance is doubled for less money. Only trouble is I have to take 2 different airlines. I will see in the next few days.
We all have reasons why we booked the WBTA. These are ours:
1--sea days---very necessary to regroup and relax
2--camp out for the kids
3--extra hour each day as cross time zones (much needed after the EBTA)
4--Maho Beach to watch the wide body jets in St Maarten (I attended medical school in the caribbean and would land in SXM to go to transfer to the island I was studying on, enjoyed sitting at the bar watching the planes--want my child to experience this)
5--dolphin swim experience on Tortola
6--CC
I surprise myself at how I have become addicted to DCL being a person who doesn't like to sit in one spot. My friends think I'm crazy since DCL travel is not as popular here in Toronto in the circles I am in.

Our EBTA was amazing and can only remind myself to not expect as great weather and experiences, but would love it if it is just as wonderful.
I have read someone will be going to Disneyland in Paris and asked how it compares. We went while in Paris at the end of the EBTA (spent 8 days in Paris) and here is what we found:
- much smaller
- employees do not smile wishing to have a Magical Day as they noticeably do in WDW
- food/drinks very expensive since in euros
- otherwise all else was the same
- renovations in some areas may be completed by now
- met many visitors from the UK who commented how they prefer WDW much more than DLParis but that is a personal opinion (I like everything)
- it was strange to hear MickeyMouse speak french

I look forward to meeting all of you!!

Well, good news and bad news... first the bad news. My friend who I wanted to cruise with is unable to go due to health issues. :sad1: But the good news is that I have taken up Evelyn's offer (fly4free2) to be her roomie and will be joining ya'll!!! I'm super excited to be doing a transatlantic at last! This will be my 6th DCL cruise, all on the Magic! :thumbsup2 Our family did the Med last year, and again this year, and the kids and I stayed on for the repo cruise last year from Barcelona to Dover. All of the European cruises have been amazing! :cloud9:
A little about me: My name is Taina (rhymes with China). Its a Fnnish name as is Sinnika, my mom's alias name she would call herself sometimes. She is from Finland. My father is from Peru, and my parents immigrated to Baltimore in the late 50's where I was born and raised (one of 8 kids). I now live in the BIG state of Texas in a very small town where everyone knows each other. :)
We're near Houston (about 40 miles west of the city) so I just say I'm from Houston! :thumbsup2
I have 2 high schoolers and a DH who will be holding down the fort and taking care of our 3 cats while I'm gone!
I'm ready to jump into all the fun! I need to read up on all the activities, plus plan a few excursions! I have not booked airfare yet as I may decide to visit another city before getting to Barcelona. London is at the top of my list. Is anyone going there pre-cruise? I love the theatre and would enjoy going to see a musical or two.
Well, looking forward to chatting, planning, oh and I guess I need to work some to make some spending money for the trip! :)

Paul, Helen and Grace

:welcome: aboard all the new cruisers. We are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland. This will be our 9th Disney cruise and we did the WBTA last year and it was fantastic.

We were blessed with amazing weather last year so here's hoping we get some of the same this time :)

i wish i had time to make my own but ellie keeping me too busy, so i had to just buy ours, i have added my own embellishment though if you can spot it:rotfl2:

That ice-cream looks fab !! I love Beaches and Cream. We are having a mini dis meet there next week so Rachel can meet up with some other kids before we cruise :)

I'm totally in. I should be in Heathrow by 8p Thursday and around all day friday. Leaving from london city at 7a on saturday...
3 things i have on my to do list is -Doctor Who Experience, -Buckingham Palace, -Tower of London tour
:-) Will definitely love a precruise London meetup!
