We did this back in May on the EBTA for the same reason. I had my 83 yr old dad and didn't want him to be stressed or rushed. We really enjoyed our taxi driver, he was the only Englishman driving.... He did a wonderful job. I would do this again over the DCL one anyday.... good luck!

Was Paul your taxi driver then as he is English? I know Lynne went with him on last year's EB.

Hope the bad weather passes quickly .... I don't like thunder and lightning either, which is a bit of a worry as they have a lot of it in Orlando at this time of year.

Hi Guys,

We seem to have been able to use our designs at spreadshirt.com without any problems. They claimed the shirts shipped today, and they were reasonably priced with lots of colors and styles to choose from. Will let you know when the come--but given we are overseas things can take a while.

Zazzle is just particularly bad about assuming you stole the image. We had another issues when we tried to make a gift for a colleague here in Macedonia. They use a Cyrillic alphabet and Zazzle thought we were stealing fraternity symbols! Seriously, I did not know the alphabet was a trademark!

Also we did not borrow any of those designs from Disney--we made them in programs at home and used the Disney font provided for us in Microsoft Paint.

Oh well. So far, spreadshirt seems to be okay. Stay tuned.

On medications, FWIW, we travel a lot internationally and have never had problems with medication in our carry on, especially in a prescription bottle with your name on it. We just came from Barcelona in May and I have three daily medications, no problems. I even had just a bottle full of vitamins and no problems, so I would not worry too much. Just my experience.

I have been on this ship 2x before yet never entered Palo--what is your fave for brunch and/or dinner? We have ressies for both; sadly no tea.

Our favorite on the dinner has to be the Calamari and it would not be complete without the Chocolate Souffle!

Brunch (which we thought was even better then Dinner) had so many good things. My husband to this day still raves about the baked Tilapia, I had a wonderful Chicken Parm and they had this chocolate dessert (kind of like a mousse) that was wonderful. The cheese selection was great too.

I think we will take the TGV train as well. Is this something where you recommend getting your tickets in advance? We arrive from NY at 6:25 a.m. and I don't recall how long I spent in customs last time in Paris.

If you google TGV or RAIL EUROPE you can check the times and ticket prices.

It's worth noting that the trains generally run once or twice an hour but at certain times of the day they are much less frequent.

I'm taking the TGV train from DLP station (Marne La Vallee Chessney) to CDG - ten (10) minutes travel time. Now I'm off to find out where we check in for our flights.

I had forgotten you were going to be in Paris too! We chose the 2:20 because we wanted longer in Paris. Do you know if we are suppose to check in the day before like a southwest flight?

We're on an 11ish one. I wanted to have some of the day in Barcelona as I want to see the Sagrada. How are you all getting to and from DLP to the airport?

We're taking a private car to CDG because we're doing a private car/tour when we get there and it wasn't much more to add the round trip.

We are also hoping to meet up with Karen ... ( Rikersmom ) so it would be good if we could co-ordinate something. We will probably be visiting friends out of town on 3rd July.

Let me know when you might want to get together. We're definitely up for it. We are doing DHS on July 4, AK on July 5, and Epcot on July 6.

Sampling the local foods is part of the fun of traveling for me - and Paris is certainly the best place for that. See if you can track down Poilâne Boulangerie in Paris and get yourself a sourdough boule and a couple of apple tarts to take with you.

Another vote here for for POILÂNE I always take friends there for pastries then wander off to a park and enjoy them on a park bench or the shade of a tree, it's a bit out of the way, tucked away in a side street by Saint Sulpice, but this place is world famous for it's bread.

...I am aware that Tea and Brunch are more limited, but if so many people cannot get booked, is it likely that the magic is full for this cruise? and how full is full, does the ship get crowded ?Margaret

I never feel that the ship is "crowded." Even full, the Magic and Wonder aren't like going to WDW in the high season.

The TAs don't fill up like other cruises - and don't carry so many kids due to school. Even a "full" TA - meaning all the cabins booked - won't be to capacity.

I've heard that they only make about 1/2 of Palo seatings available for online booking. Tea, different story, they just don't offer so many tables, making it more limited.

Andrew and I would be interested. Can you give any details about where he is going and what you are doing? We are interested in going to the top of the Rock to see the view and I would like to get a history "lesson" in about the role of the Rock through the ages (particularly in WWII as that is what Andrew is interested in).

Okay, here's my $1 in advice: see if there are 2 groups that want to go with Paul, a morning and an afternoon one - a more active and a less active one.

Our group didn't want to go into the caves or siege tunnels, so no one had to wait for others to go through.

The taxis use a different road than the bigger tour buses. You go a ways and then stop at several points along the way, including the entrances to the tunnels and the look-out points.

From what I remember we went first drove over across the airport runway, which is so strange to do so have your cameras ready, and had a look at the border crossing to Spain.

We drove through town and went to Europa Point. We also stopped at a huge Gun and mini museum about said gun.

We went right up to the top where the buses don't go and there are fantastic views all the way down to the ship. Great photos.

Now I begin to get muddled!! We went to where the apes are, though you see them all over, and you can get out and have photos taken with them. Siege tunnels and the war tunnels. Again, apes a plenty. I also think there is another spot where you can photo the apes. He leaves you to go into the 2 tunnels on your own, but there is lots of information there for you to read.

All the time Paul is talking about the history and adding lots of interesting bits and pieces. He is a bit of a history buff. He grew up in Gibraltar. Plenty of time for lots of great photos as long as the cloud isn't down. He did suggest a lunchtime set off to us because there is more chance of a clear view and also it isn't as busy.

My group must have done the shorter tour, as we paid the lower fare and didn't go to the "Frontier" - the airport. And we never were near the big apes, so I don't know if we skipped that area.

I am a little sad this afternoon We planned to go to Epcot tonight & eat crab legs at Cape May (which I love!) and its raining again at Disney (70% chance at 7pm) so we had to cancel our plans Its silly, but I am really disappointed and unhappy about this....I guess I was looking forward to it more than I thought.

With the yucky weather (it looks like rain for the next few days) and the 4th of July holidays we probably won't get to go anytime soon.

I would love to do the WB TA, but my sailing partner has backed out. I doubt I can pull this one off if I couldn't split the cabin. I'm looking for someone who might be interested in having a roommate. I'm an easy going guy, work with kids during my day job, don't smoke, occasional drinker but not a guzzler. If you are interested, send me a PM.

We actually have another person on this thread looking for a roommate, but it is a woman so I guess it wouldn't work. Best of luck on finding a roomie!

I do not think the reservations filling up are an indication of how full this cruise is. Remember they don't release all of them online anyway. I would look at cruise prices for this sailing more as an indicator - and it looks like they are still discounting so no worries!

The TA's are not crowded for a few reasons: 1. Not a lot of people can (or want) to use 14+ vacation days in a row 2. The airfare can be pricey 3. For some, school will be in session in Sept.

On the EBTA last year I never felt like it was crowded - even during prime meal times, at shows or character greetings. It is the perfect cruise to enjoy the ship

We might do something like this too. We went to Gibraltar on the cruise last year & really feel like we've "done" the rock, so that isn't as appealing. Still working on this one.....
