At the moment I am reading through older posts and lots of research. (annoyed i cant get on Disney Cruise Line Site :headache:)
Am I too late for FE's?
Colette

Welcome!! what a grand crew!

Be sure to read first couple of pages of this thread; the only deadline looming at the moment is June 30 for pins (custom for this cruise) so have a lookee-see soon.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thank you Auntlynne for the advice, I've sent you a PM, so I hope I read that correctly.I'm a real technophobe, and I find using computers a nightmare.

Also many thanks for putting my mind at rest about our cruise I was begining to get concerned :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 - margaret

Well, you survived that nightmare - you did a fine job. Now, just send me the birthdate of the primary name on the reservation (and verify you sent me official names - not nicknames).

I guess, "Tag, I'm it," so, Okay, we'll make it official -

PM me (auntlynne) with

  • DCL-official names (as on reservation)
  • reservation #
  • birthday of primary name on reservation

I've got the following expressing interest (in chronological order)

  • pkicinski@yahoo.com (2)
  • auntlynne (1) - got my info
  • Chris&Jeremy (2)
  • sue l (2)
  • magic 123 (2) - got their info
  • fly4free2 (1) - got her info
  • goofieslonglostsis (1) - got her info

That's 11 - 3 more slots

Palo brunch is either/or: individual reservation OR group reservation. However, to make sure you get at least ONE of them: If you get the opportunity to book Palo brunch on your own, make that reservation - if/when we get group approval (about 30 days pre-cruise), DCL is supposed to automatically cancel your individual reservation.

Group requests are usually filled first-request, first given, so Group 1 should have priority over us (but we are at sea a lot of days).

Welcome aboard ... we are Sarah and Tony from Wales ... on our second WBTA !! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Let me know when you might want to get together. We're definitely up for it. We are doing DHS on July 4, AK on July 5, and Epcot on July 6.

I have asked Karen when she could meet up as she works in Downtown Disney, to see if she has any free time. We could possibly do the 5th or 6th.

:wave2: Welcome aboard.

We did the same thing. We were going to book the Dream in December since we saw no cast rate available. Then we saw that a 4 night inside stateroom cabin was going to run us $1600+:scared1: We looked at the prices here and could get the TA for just a couple hundred more and with a Verandah! So we figured this was a no brainer!!pirate:

Am a little annoyed too about the site. Had grabbed my paper and pen and was ready to start doing the research on the excursions, esp. the ones that would be good for an almost 4 year old since our best friends are coming with us and they have the best little boy in the whole wide world (not that I am biased or anything:rolleyes1) Oh well. What are you going to do. Right?

Thanks for your comments

Hey, any time I have a chance to put my 2 cents in

I am a little sad this afternoon :sad1: We planned to go to Epcot tonight & eat crab legs at Cape May (which I love!) and its raining again at Disney (70% chance at 7pm) so we had to cancel our plans :headache: Its silly, but I am really disappointed and unhappy about this....I guess I was looking forward to it more than I thought.

With the yucky weather (it looks like rain for the next few days) and the 4th of July holidays we probably won't get to go anytime soon. :sad2:....

:disrocks: I know Diser's will know this:worship: Does Disney have a Photo Pass type of service onboard the ship or is it completely different.

Only thing I DO know is that there are (or used to be?) 2 Dutch captains working for DCL.

There was a Dutch captain on the Wonder in October. I was only partially listening to an announcement by the captain one day and thought to myself "boy he really sounds Dutch." Didn't think much more about it until I was in the atrium waiting for them to let us debark and glanced up on the monitor and they were showing profiles of the ship's officers. The slide for the captain came up and, sure enough, he was from Holland (either Eindhoven or Enkhuisen...don't remember which).

Can I just say that my OCPD is kicking in already and we just booked two days ago! (Obsessive Compulsive Planning Disorder)!!:lmao::rotfl2:

Ah, the relief that comes with finally having a name for the disease with which I am afflicted. :rotfl:

It's going to be verry bad wether here. Thunder and Lightning and hard wind. And there can be hailstones falling down. I don't like this and then alone in my home. (My son lives near Amsterdam and I in Arnhem) Hope it get over soon.

Not a fan of hail, but I do enjoy watching lightning storms...from a distance. Last time I was in Holland, I stayed near Amsterdam (Hoofdorp) and traveled to Arnhem for the Openluchtmuseum.

The TA's are not crowded for a few reasons: 1. Not a lot of people can (or want) to use 14+ vacation days in a row

I don't mind taking 14+ days, but my boss isn't such a fan! Appeased him by promising to bring the laptop and check in every day. It's not that I'm indespensible, but he's a worrier. :rotfl2:

I see that the Disney Cruise Line website is still down.

Did everyone hear about the Disney's Club Penguin website recently, Disney failed to re-register that domain name in time so the website just vanished for several days, bearing in mind that site gets tens of millions of hits each week that's a pretty big mistake.

I can only imagine the heads that rolled over that little mistake

Not per se. They take your photo - for the first photo (on embarkation) they swipe your card. From then on it's supposed to be photo recognition software.

You can buy a CD with all your photos for about $299 (on a typical cruise - don't know if it goes up with these super cruises). I don't think the CD photos have the fun borders, though.

An individual photo 8 x 10 is $20; 6 x 8 is $10 if bought without a package.

They have packages of "credits." An 8 x 10 is 2 credits - a 6 x 8 is 1 credit. They don't print out photos in alternate sizes.

Photos are on display in "Shutters" - Deck 4 - midship - mid-morning until about 10 or 11 pm. You have to find yours in the groupings, such as "Animator's Palate, Sea Day 4..." There are computer kiosks in which you insert your KTTW card and it should show you your photos - this didn't work well for me. We also had computer glitches on KTTW cards ship-wide in Alaska.

I like the idea of booking a couple of vans for Gibraltar. More active and less active sounds great. Neither Kevin nor I are fans of caves--little bit claustrophic--so we would prefer a tour that did not include lots of time to visit dark, tiny, scary caves!

So, count us in for two for the less active tour group.

Sarah & Lauren, I can meet you anytime, anywhere on July 5. Animal Kingdom sounds fine. I advise either staying away from the Magic Kingdom on July 4, or else go early and plan to stay for the entire day. It often happens that MK reaches capacity on the 4th, and capacity is really, really crowded. I am scheduled to work afternoon-to-night on both July 4 and July 6.

Weather at WDW--it is raining, but so far I haven't heard thunder.

Karen

If you guys are in the Hollywood Studios on Monday, go to the Animation Studio. If you see a guy named Mike (I think only one in that area) tell him hi and keep up the good work. It is my DH and he is working all of the overtime to pay for the cruise since I can't.

Hey all. Just checked the Disney Cruise line site and it wasn't a big blue screen with a white box. Just thought you would like to know. Now on to planning.

LOL. In Madiera the 4x4 Land Rover expedition doesn't allow kids so that is off my list anyway. But "All participants must be 60"" LOL. I guess I am excluded since I am 4'11".

:disrocks: I know Diser's will know this:worship: Does Disney have a Photo Pass type of service onboard the ship or is it completely different.

The Photo CD was $399. on the EBTA as well as the Panama Canal cruise. So I am sure it will be the same on the WBTA. There is no limit on how many photos go on your CD as long as it is for just 1 cabin. So.... if you plan to buy the CD and if you have kids and can afford it... you should, so take as many pictures as you can.

I don't mind taking 14+ days, but my boss isn't such a fan! Appeased him by promising to bring the laptop and check in every day. It's not that I'm indespensible, but he's a worrier. :rotfl2:

Good luck on that! You will find there really isn't any internet while we are crossing the atlantic. When you do get a connection, closer to land, it is so slow you usually give up after about 15 min of waiting to bring up a website. We bought the 500 Min. package for $150 and had to get a refund because we just could not get online. We were not the only ones. Please do not depend on getting online, even DCL's computers are bad, actually worse. You may want to tell your boss if he does not hear from you it is not because you are having way too much fun to contact him, but that you tried and it was impossible...... Sorry to be the bearer of bad internet news....

Just wear some 1" heels and you're there!!!  Haha! (You're the same height as my 19 year old daughter.)

Hope the bad weather passes quickly .... I don't like thunder and lightning either, which is a bit of a worry as they have a lot of it in Orlando at this time of year.:scared1::scared1:

I've been here (Orlando) since last Thursday, and I think it has rained every day. Thunder only one or two days, though.

Ah, well, that's summer time in Florida. You have to decide to grab a poncho and/or an umbrella, put on your flip-flops and not care if your feet get wet. A rainy day at Disney is still better than a sunny day at work! Remember - bright side, always! ;)

I have to go back to Georgia tomorrow, and back to work on Thursday. We're in a drought, and I can't get a decent Cuban sandwich there, let alone a Cuban coffee, so I'm a bit bummed. I'll take Orlando - rain and all. On the positive side, I get to sleep in my own bed (as opposed to the camp cot wannabe at my parents' place), I get to see Dennis and the other 3 dogs (2 are with me), and I get to use my own computer again. Still rather be in Orlando with rain and good Cuban sandwiches and coffee, just want Dennis, the dogs, and my computer here.
