Well the weekend I am dreading has arrived ... DD leaves for Florida on Sunday morning :sad2::sad2: Still got a lot to do.
We are having a surprise BBQ this evening which I don't think she has sussed out, and she is working all day so we can get on with everything behind her back ;) Tomorrow will be packing, shopping, panicking in no particular order, and then a meal out at Hickorys ( American smokehouse ... just to get her in the mood ) and finally Sunday morning an early start to the airport where we say goodbye. :sad1::sad1: ( ok .... don't feel too sorry for me ... we are going to Orlando in 2 weeks so we will see her real soon )

I hope the BBQ goes well this evening and you have a fun time. It will go very quickly, too quickly really as our cruise will also be over when she gets home.

DH and I might be booking a sneaky couple of nights in London at the end of July as DS is going to a media expo and will be away, and with DD also away, and us both having a weekend off, it is too good an opportunity to miss. Probably will go to see Love Never Dies as I loved it so much and DH hasn't seen it. It would be even better to do a Phantom / Love Never Dies double bill.

I love going to the Theatre. :goodvibes

Can you believe that I have seen dozens of musicals in the West End but never seen Phantom or Les Mis!!!! I have a few other shows booked in the coming months but I really must see both...maybe a Christmas pressie idea. ;)

I hope you have good weather for the BBQ. :wizard:

Just think of it that Taryn is going on a two week holiday & then you will be joining her, it's not too long if you think of it like that.

Claire - Glad you had a good day :)

I had a really lovely day thanks Michelle. :) I was spoiled rotten. :teeth:

I am really tired today though, so having a very lazy day. :cloud9:

I had the same when I wasn't on the board for 3wks. But what sticks in my mind is how many shoes do you need for a cruise lol counted mine it was in double figures.:rotfl::rotfl: And is Morrisons open or closed, will i have my wine or not....very important really!!

I hope the weekend goes well.... it's a hard thing to do, being happy and sad for them at the same time.Don't know what I'll be like when my daughter flies the nest..... maybe they cope better than the mums. But she's going to another family and I bet she gets on great and you will be able to put your mind at rest when you see her

Les Mis and Phantom are absolutely amazing ..... breathtaking. I have seen those two plus Love Never Dies ( equally amazing ) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ( great entertainment but not as totally emotionally mind-blowing as the other 3 )

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Cleveland Ohio, today.

I can't keep up with everybody but one thing stuck out - CONGRATULATIONS LAUREN! Good Job, Girl!

Happy Birthday, Claire!

Shoes. 2 pair.

WELCOME, New people!

I weighed my suitcases after I packed yesterday. I am in DEEP doo doo. My smallest suitcase with clothes for a week and NO evening wear weighed 40 pounds :( My carry on (Computer, cabling, cpap & cameras) weighted 25 - allowable is apparently 18. :scared1:

HOW the heck are you going to get double digits of shoes to Europe and have room in your luggage for anything else????

Linda
We purchased one more luggage allowance, so we have 3x23kg….. well that means I have two and a half cases :rotfl2: and DH can have the rest , and am still not sure I’ll manage ( but we are away for 7 weeks ). So must try packing soon, don’t know how you will manage with only two pairs of shoes !!!.

Hand luggage is always a tricky one, we are flying with BA from london and the hand luggage has no weight limit, providing you can lift it into the overhead lockers unaided, which is a bonus since all the gadgets weigh so much

margaret

same here for not being able to keep up with all the multi quotes needed this morning, so going to do a list instead:

congrats lauren!!
happy birthday claire! hope you had a great birthday, did you get anything good while shopping? next time you're in bluewater, come find me :)
welcome to all our new cruisers!
i've seen phantom, not seen the new one yet, but would love to see wicked sometime. really should get off my butt and book that.
claire - stop trying to justify your accidental nudism :rotfl:
horseriding in st maarten - we've got a pick up time of 8.15 too, have asked them if its possible to pick us up from the ship but drop us to maho beach afterwards.
scuba diving in tortola - we'd love to do the one tank dive if poss - a few (dozen) pages back we did have a few more divers around, so hopefully they'll pop by soon

I loved Chitty, I love just singing along. :)

I am worried about our baggage limit too, but I don't think i'll be bringing less shows. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We have 3x23kg between the two of us & I may buy a 4th. :lmao:

Thanks hun, I will definitely seek you out next time. I bought a few tops for the cruise, some matching jewellery and a pair of shoes for my formal outfit. :cool1:

Oh you must see Wicked, it is Lee's favourite & possibly mine too but I find it so hard to choose.

Believe me I would not inflict that sight on anyone. :rotfl2:

I understand about the rain ... it's what makes Oregon green too :thumbsup2 I have an ancestor on my mother's side who was a Spanish noblewoman, that gave up her riches, and moved to Ireland to marry a poor Irish lad. (ah, those dark haired, blue eyed boys) I've always been moved by that story and would love to visit Ireland.

Well lets see....;-) poor-check , dark haired if you can find any - check - blue eyes - check
Looks like I'm the real deal He He He
:laughing::laughing:

Looks to me like there are six Karens:

Karentan
kj_connections
pixie_dust_for_me!
poohluv2u
rikersmom
rubyblue

If I am missing someone, let us know...

For 25 years I lived in Oregon without ever meeting another Karen, then a Karen moved in two houses down from us, who was married to an Ed also. On Saturday I found out another Karen lives on my street, four houses up from me. And I'm also cruising with 5 other Karens ... I guess my Karen drought is over! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAIRE

Hope you have a magical day

:cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3:

Happy Belated Birthday Claire :flower3: sounds like you had a wonderful day.

I love going to the Theatre. :goodvibes

I love going to the Theatre too, I wish I lived in a city that had tons to choose from like you do. You really should treat yourself to Phantom and Les Mis, they are the classics :cloud9: The show I've seen the most times (10) was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat starring Donny Osmond :lovestruc ... a teenage crush that has lasted through adulthood

Thanks Karen. I did have a wonderful day.

I've seen Joseph twice, in fact it was the first show I saw 20 years ago. My sister took me as a treat and i've loved going ever since. :goodvibes

I must admit that it nice to be so close to London (only 25 mins on the train or an 50 min drive) but I guess with anything you can take it for granted.

Wow! Congratulations Lauren!! That must be quite a feeling of accomplishment and relief!:cheer2::cheer2:

I saw that earlier but didn't know if the rules were different in regards to customs since this is a transatlantic cruise and not just coming from the Caribbean.

May be worth giving DCL or your TA a call to verify and then you'll be able to plan accordingly. :thumbsup2

Hi Guys

Struggling to keep up with all the chatting  Life getting in the way:headache:

Just like to add to all the congratulations and welcomes to all - it really adds to the excitement to hear all your comments :thumbsup2

I love going to plays too! I've seen Phantom of the Opera twice and worn out my cd listening to the music! Even got a speeding ticket while belting out "The Music of the Night" (didn't sing to the officer because then he would have given me another ticket for disturbing the peace!:lmao::lmao:). I also love Cats. I just watched Phantom on the TV a couple of weeks ago and drooled over Gerard Butler! Raoul wouldn't stand a chance beside that Phantom! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I keep missing Les Mis....that's next on my "to do" list!
