I wish they would make up their bl**dy minds ( sorry ):mad:

It will definitely rain because we have arranged a family and friends BBQ to give DD a bit of a send off for Florida. That just about guarantees rain .. sorry :sad2:

Re Morrisons, I just aren't 100% confident they will be open. That is the problem.:confused3

Can you do the BBQ under an awning?

By the way, Josh, the lad we talked about who has already gone to WDW for the summer seems to be having a fab time. He has posted a few times on the other forum. Loves where he has been placed. I hope it all goes as well for Taryn too.

Wow Pat, have you been having a harsh day. Do you think we jinxed it by going "oh it's nothing, Pat can use a lot more difficult logical math problem"? :confused3;) Glad to see you could at least retrieve most and work back from that. Knock on wood this will not happen again. At least now you'll probably have like 5 backups everywhere.

Can you all join me for a moment of grief? I just burried in the trashcan; my last empty bottle of Smuckers magic shell. It's all gone, nothing left, nada, no more. :sad1: I was sure I'ld brought back enough bottles after our WDW trip last september to last me well over a year. Who knew I'ld get even more addicted to it? Almost 4 long weeks before I can get my hands on some new bottles and tastes again. Sigh. They are not going to know what happened to them when I'm hitting the superwallmart on the 24th. :rolleyes1

Where has he been placed Marilyn?

For a second there I thought you meant in your stateroom!!!!:rotfl:

I think that is frowned upon :rotfl:

Could you imagine

" I'm sorry I could find anything to my tastes in the 9 onboard dining locations so I decided to cook burgers on my balcony!!!!"

On our 2007 WBTA on the Magic we purchased all of our wine and alcohol for the cruise at a shop directly beside the ship. The prices were exceptional.....much cheaper than here in the US.
Are you talking about a shop next to the ship in Gibraltar or in Barcelona?

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!!!

I just spent HOURS yesterday afternoon and this evening getting the FE lists split into sub groups and now the file is GONE. I had already saved it on a USB drive (along with all my other cruise-related files), in fact, I saved it multiple times as I worked on it, just so I wouldn't lose my changes.

I finished it a few minutes ago, went to save it before closing, and my computer make that nasty little "error" noise and gave me some message about a corrupt table (WHAT??), the disk drive door being open (WHAT DOOR?? It's a laptop!) and reinserting the disk before trying again (IT'S A USB - THERE IS NO DISK!!). I've never seen anything like that before.

Then it told me to close and re-open the file using "open and repair," but when I went to open it again - IT WAS GONE!!! I tried a search of the whole computer for the file, but... nothing.

It was finished. Everyone assigned to groups. Extra spaces for new people. All the counts worked out - people per group, multiple list people, everything within everyone's requested limits... and it's gone.:sad::sad:

I think I need some chocolate. Or scotch.

So, so sorry. I hope things are going better. Scotch and chocolate go very well together. Judi

I am taking my mother in law back to the States in style! She recently broke her hip and can not take a long flight. Is there a time for meet and great on day 1? I saw the lanyard offer, and I signed up, but I can't find the confirmation list. Is the pin included?
Can't wait to meet everyone!
Damian

Are you talking about a shop next to the ship in Gibraltar or in Barcelona?

It is/was at the terminal in Barcelona. We bought 14 bottles of wine, several bottles of alcohol. Wait.....forget that....we purchased a few "drinks" there. LOL.

I thought it was awesome in that you only had to carry the items from entry to the ship to the room.

Hopefully someone can clarify if it still exists.

Looks to me like there are six Karens:

Karentan
kj_connections
pixie_dust_for_me!
poohluv2u
rikersmom
rubyblue

If I am missing someone, let us know...

Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

16. If you want a designed DIS tee shirt for this cruise, follow the instruction in this post. DIS Tee shirt

17. Cliffy 97 (Dan and Bruce) are organizing a typical English pub crawl with a date TBD. Info so far is as follows:
On a sea day those who were interested would meet in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.

Perhaps we can make tshirts up too.

Stay tuned for more details.

17. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

18. If you are interested in joining us for a farewell lunch, contact Claire (Pinky166) to be added to the list.
Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.

Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.

Please PM me if you'd like to join us and I will add you to the list, then once onboard notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

Just to update everyone on the "no dock at White Bay" concern for the JVD catamaran/beach/snorkeling excursion:

I emailed the charter company this evening about how people get to/from catamaran and beach (at least it's not Pirate Night and they make you walk the plank!) - and will update everyone on that aspect when I hear back. I do think the pics are pretty accurate from the times we have been there, and Virgin Gorda was definitely more of a true swim. Once I hear back from them, I'll make any necessary deletions from the list to move standby folks up.

this isnt a problem for us mandy but any tips you have for us with taking ellie
ashore would be gratefully received:thumbsup2 she does love the water but at 8 months i dont think im going to get her swimming by then:rotfl2:

Tips for the little ones:
Get one of those baby swim rings like this or that with shade, and literally pull Ellie along as you snorkel. She should have fun just enjoying the water. We would snorkel, and keep one arm on Sarah, but since we were cautious, we basically snorkeled side by side EACH having an arm on her ring. The bay is calm from what I recall, so no worries of water splashing into her face. Eight months is about the age Sarah was when we went to Hawaii and spent three weeks there, and she had been in swimming lessons about 6 weeks or so prior to that (or "baby-water acclimation lessons" LOL).

Later, when Sarah was walking, in fact a few months shy of turning two, we did a catamaran day in Barbados for swimming with the turtles. I literally had to float at the back of the catamaran because SHE kept wanting to jump in the water to me and swim back. The week prior to that, we were in the Grenadines staying by the beach, and literally at that age put floaties on her arms and pulled her around with us for snorkeling. Again, both being right there and not pushing our limits on getting too far out in case of any issues.

I just spent the day at Sea World Texas with my girls, and other than them both being completely asleep, had a fantastic day. I am looking so forward to exposing them to the awesome life experiences on this cruise!!!

I am taking my mother in law back to the States in style! She recently broke her hip and can not take a long flight. Is there a time for meet and great on day 1? I saw the lanyard offer, and I signed up, but I can't find the confirmation list. Is the pin included?
Can't wait to meet everyone!
Damian

Hi Damian! Welcome aboard! :thumbsup2

Hey Mandy, do they make those things in adult sizes? Specifically Dennis sizes? You should've seen the look he just gave me when I told him the catamaran doesn't go to the beach or a dock. :scared1:

It will definitely rain because we have arranged a family and friends BBQ to give DD a bit of a send off for Florida. That just about guarantees rain .. sorry :sad2:

ah so its your fault if it rains then!! :rotfl:

its not quite the same as the smuckers one but they do something similar over here if you want me to send you one?

" I'm sorry I could find anything to my tastes in the 9 onboard dining locations so I decided to cook burgers on my balcony!!!!"

scary thing is, someone has probably tried to do that in the past. i would not be surprised at all......

It is/was at the terminal in Barcelona. We bought 14 bottles of wine, several bottles of alcohol. Wait.....forget that....we purchased a few "drinks" there. LOL.

I thought it was awesome in that you only had to carry the items from entry to the ship to the room.

Hopefully someone can clarify if it still exists.

i remember that from last year. can you remember if the prices were reasonable or not?

Hey Pat, I think we're outnumbered! :lmao::worship:

there'll be gangs of karens roaming the ships. if we come across your gang it'll be like west side story!

OK, I'll be Natalie Wood! (that's really a stretch :goodvibes) Now, if I could just sing....:rolleyes1

But, yes, it appears we are a scrappy bunch :cool1:
