Be warned though!!!!!!! They can give you a heart attack! :lmao:

I was writing a message for someone on their door on my last cruise and as I was bent over writing she opened the door, I sort of stumbled forward, she jumped back and we both looked at each other and screamed. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Lee was on the floor laughing his head off, he said it was like something out of a Carry On movie - he laughed about it all day!

I would have paid money to see that :rotfl2:

I heard that it was booked by a company, so a private party. :confused3

Yes, that is what Disney told us, when they cancelled  I kind of want to get to the port early and have a looky-loo at who comes off the ship :sail:

Same here. Love Nathion Fillion and David Boreanz.

Here is pic of Taye Diggs.

taye_diggs_2221683.jpg
Ah yes .. nice :goodvibes

Totally agree. I was watching a "behind the scenes" and cracked up when I learned of how he does the little Poirot walk - he said that he squeezes his bottom together very tight and then he walks and that is it.

If you've seen Poirot on tv, I'll bet you're trying that walk right now.
Too true :lmao: :lmao:

By the way, have we found out yet what the Magic is doing the week prior to our cruising? After such a big hoopla a few months ago about DCL cancelling that Med. cruise I really expected that by now we'ld have at least a serious rumour what the Magic would be doing instead. Nothing. Yet? I know many people must be wondering with me, "disney magic september 3 2011" is a commonly used search criteria on google.

Well whatever it's doing you should all be very pleased!!!

I was originally booked on the September 3rd sailing and when Disney canceled it I transfered to the WBTA

So whoever booked the ship for the 3rd, you can thank for the pleasure of my company :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And I can thank them for the pleasure of all yours :cheer2:

Xxx

So we can write messages if we want to meet up for drinks etc ...... :thumbsup2

That's a GREAT idea!!! :thumbsup2
Hmmm....I'm going to have to find room on my door for the whiteboard - I just keep making magnets and figure my door is going to be completely covered. :dance3: :dance3:

Well another great thing about going on such a long cruise is that you can rotate your magnets. Each day put different ones out and keep the other ones you're not using on the inside of the door,so each day is like an ever-changing art gallery for people to enjoy

anyone on here DVC members?
trying to decide between a few resorts for our post cruise 3 nights.
its between SSR, AKV, BLT or BWV. have stayed at SSR and AKV before and we would kinda like to stay somewhere new, but also think why mess with something we know we like?
other option is BLT either bay lake view or MK view, or BWV preferred view.
any guidance/opinions/help will be appreciated!

We are new members and are staying post cruise at BWV as our home property BLT was not available for what we wanted. I have stayed at SSR with friends. Looking forward to Boardwalk location!

Wow, the things you miss when you go to work!

Three men I'd watch fishing:
George Clooney
Johnny Depp - in Capt. Jack regalia, of course

and...

Eddie Izzard - b/c he'd probably be doing a dialog b/w two fish, one of whom would probably sound like James Mason. Plus, I just have a thing for men in eyeliner.

Candy Swap

Dennis and I are a bit stuck on this one. We're trying to think of some candy representative of either Georgia, the South, or the U.S., but not having much luck. We'd bring peanut brittle, but we can only find it in large packages - nothing small and individually wrapped. You thought Jacqueline's image was bad, we'd be walking around going, "Here, break off a chunk." Eew. The only thing I can think of that's relatively small and pre-packaged is a pecan log (pronounced PEE-can, we're in the South, honey) and well, those are just nasty. If anyone would like to make a suggestion, we'd love to hear it.

Post-Cruise Stay
We'll probably be at the Casa de Mama y Papa. We only have one night before we have to drive home. Not fancy, but it's cheap. :rotfl:

FE Stuff

Thank you to everyone who gave me their favorite color info!

If anyone is having trouble accessing the FE list document after doing the invitation request/confirmation thing, please let me know. I probably won't know what to do about it, but I'll be very sympathetic. Actually, I'll ask Rasmus, who seems to know how that website works. :thumbsup2

I don't know what other thread you guys normally check on the Dis, but I came across the funniest one tonight. I promise you can't go through this thread with a straight face:

Liz, Thanks for that link!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OMG, those photos are soooo funny!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: I was actually physically laughing out loud at some of them.
Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Hilarious!!

Of course, someone has to come along and spoil the fun. "Oh, bad parents, allowing the child to be terrified!" What's the point of having kids if you can't terrify them and laugh about it once in a while? :confused3

I love the picture of Tink "helping" the little girl to smile. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I thought *YOUR* post waspretty funny - 'stuck' on Peanut brittle :rotfl2: It's the Obvious choice, coming from Georgia. /can't you break down a large box into snack size zip lock bags? Put your name on the bag with the comment packed wearing plastic gloves or some such thing. You may find a local candy maker who will package it in single serving bags - I did with Saratoga Sweets Peppermint Pig "Poop" - they made little bags with an official label.

I'll probably need the sympathy too - just sent my request for access.

Yeah, didn't think about that til after I posted it.

I'd do the individual bag thing, but I've read where DCL doesn't let you bring any food aboard that isn't "factory sealed." Hmmm... I might be able to find someone to do the individual packages. Heaven knows I know enough food service related people around here - caterers, bakers, etc. I'll have to give that some thought. Anything to avoid Stuckey's Pecan Logs! :scared:

Of course, if we have people with peanut allergies, that might not be so good.

My attempt to catch up:

Krisann, see your PM-box. :) You are signed on, added you to the list on page 2 of this thread.

Magnet, hmm need to go on a hunt for that one. Thanks for the hint!

Thanks! and the magnet clip i find in the kitchen accessories section - you know like to hang on your fridge or the clip your chips with. No matter what you choose - try it out before you leave - I have had ones not heavy enough slide down my door!

why is dinner free on the first night? never heard of that before?

We are Plat. cruisers and that is one of the perks - by doing 10 or more cruises you get a free dinner at Palo (I just say you have prepaid for it after having done 10 cruises!)

By the way, have we found out yet what the Magic is doing the week prior to our cruising? I even asked our server on the EBTA and got nothing!

Hi from Evansville Indiana. Finally in a hotel where there is internet. How people live without it in this day and age, I do NOT understand. (we were at my s.i.l.'s house and they don't even have a computer at all.)
:rotfl2::rotfl2: my children would think someone had cut off their arms and legs.....or worse

juicy:rotfl::rotfl: is that the men or the fish..... a bit of double meaning somewhere:rotfl2:

:dance3:wow 37 is a lot, now a bit worried will Morrisons run out of chocolate!!! I don't mind what you decide, but i think if the number of people hits 50, you will have to split them...having never done this before I have nothing to compare it to

margaret

On the EBTA (this year) and the WBTA (last year) we did the candy swaps and it was one snack size piece of candy per person. On the WBTA we had to sign each person up individually but on the EBTA it was per cabin and each cabin got the same number of candy as was in the cabin - the groups were limited to a total of 25 pieces of candy. It worked out great to do the small pieces for us so that is what I will be doing - one "snack" size candy for each person in the cabin.

Glad we get to cruise with you again!

Two things:

2. Luggage pre-check. We are flying Delta, which is one of the allowed pre-check. My question is this. So you put your luggage outside the door the night before and you never see it again? Or do you check it with the airline at the port? If it is outside the door, how do you get your toiletries and other "not allowed liquids and items" in your luggage? We usually hold back some toiletries and other things that we carry off and then transfer to our luggage once we get on the pier as we need these things but not all of them are TSA allowed in carry on. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Amanda (Fontabel)

when you disembark in Florida, and use the onboard check in with your participating airline, they take your bags the night before and you DO NOT get them from customs - they are taken directly to your airlines. What we did last time so we could have a bag still with us - we kept one bag we knew we were going to check and carried it off the boat with us, then when we got to the airport we went to Delta and told them we wanted to add a bag. Worked like a charm and had no trouble.

. I'll have to give that some thought. Anything to avoid Stuckey's Pecan Logs! :scared:

Of course, if we have people with peanut allergies, that might not be so good.

we actually got cracker barrell pecan logs on the EBTA and that was one of my favorite things - it was SOOOOO good - but maybe I am just weird!

You could use a food sealer... then it would be sealed. Also Disney does not check our bags...

Thanks for that. This is how I had read the stuff on DCL web site. When we flew domestic on Delta in Dec, they charged for every checked bag. If you go the DCL route of checking, do they still charge you?

Our only concern would be time. We have a 1230 flight out of Orlando, so if the line is too long to check that bag...

Or since we will have been traveling for two weeks most of our liquids will probably be under three ounces anyway, or we just toss them!

Also, all this talk of David Boreanaz on Bones. Many of you may know this, but you must see his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer the series that was on in the late 1990s to early 2000s. He was a main character on the show called Angel, who was so popular that he had his own spin off called Angel. Both ran on the WB here in the U.S. (which is now the CW, I think). But you can rent both series. Excellent shows and lots of younger David B to watch!

Same with Nathan Fillion, he was on a short-lived sci-fi show called Firefly, which was cancelled on Fox here in the U.S. but the creator finished the series on DVD, so if you rent it you can watch the whole season.

Now, these series are all sci-fi so a completely different genre from the crime drama that they do now, so it may not be your cup of tea, show wise. However, I like sci-fi and these are great shows.

FWIW.

Amanda

:lovestruc Castle and Bones two of my fave shows.

I love Bones, it is probably my fave show ever!!! I can't believe how this season finished! I hope they hurry up with the next one!!!

I keep thinking of the strangest questions about the FE, having never done it before we want to make sure we do it right!!

When we deliver the gifts, do we put something on there that lets the recipient know who it came from??
Not sure if dumb question or not lol!! :happytv:

There is no rule about that, but personally I like to know who it's from. I always put mine in a little bag of some kind with a sticker or note in it. :)

I would have paid money to see that :rotfl2:

Once me & the woman who opened the door had recovered from the shock we both had a good laugh about it. :lmao:

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought about rotating them. :thumbsup2

I had to put some of mine inside on the Dream cruise, I made a few that didn't have our name on them & they were pinched from our door. :sad2:

Lee loves peanut brittle. :)

My DD Samantha was a huge fan of Buffy and Angel so we have all of the series. Plus, of course, being a huge sci fi fan, I loved Firefly and the movie that was made which was called Serenity.

:lmao: We should start a NiO support group.........(Non iPad Owner) :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao:

It's because I don't like fish!!! ;) What on earth were you thinking Marilyn!!?!??!!

:rotfl::rotfl:

Blame Sarah for limiting the number to three! I think it makes it more interesting in deciding which names make the cut.

David Boreanaz is AOK with me. How about Nathan Fillion? Taye Diggs?

Oh I love Taye Diggs :lovestruc

Anyone know where in UK they sell whiteboards .....or do you have to get them online or Ebay?

Sarah, I buy mine from ebay. The search I use is "magnetic A4 whiteboard" there are usually some for a couple of £s :thumbsup2

OK ladies, please forgive my ignorance and put me out of my misery why are you all wanting whiteboards?

Michelle, we never sail without one. It's great leaving messages for each other, and neighbours usually put messages on them too when passing by. Even with the wave phones on the last cruise, we all still wrote on the whiteboard where we all were for ease of catching up with each other when we were finished with an activity.

The room host loved it because he knew when we were all out of the room :thumbsup2

Rumour control that DH heard was that it was Oprah Winfrey. She could definitely afford to book out the whole ship. Maybe it's a corporate event for her new company that she is setting up?

I bought mine on ebay, it was only a few quid & will do the job as i'll bin it at the end. :thumbsup2

Be warned though!!!!!!! They can give you a heart attack! :lmao:

I was writing a message for someone on their door on my last cruise and as I was bent over writing she opened the door, I sort of stumbled forward, she jumped back and we both looked at each other and screamed.

I know what your saying but i've only worn 2 dresses since I was about 7! One was my wedding dress 10 years ago & the other was a bridesmaid dress about 16 years ago...so I am a bit scared!

i usually bin mine too after each cruise, they get a bit messy with residue of old pen marks by the end of each cruise.

That's is so funny that you got caught doing that :rotfl2:

You looked gorgeous in your wedding dress, so i'm sure you will look fabbie in one on the cruise too, we can have a swifter before we go out on formal night for some dutch courage :thumbsup2

I think my DSIL has some spare points that she hasn't banked and needs to use, how many do you potentially need and I will ask her to rent them to you if you want?

Well whatever it's doing you should all be very pleased!!!

:cool1: Warren I got a new t-shirt last week on the Magic and I thought of you. I'll need to take a pic and upload it to show you :)

I had to put some of mine inside on the Dream cruise, I made a few that didn't have our name on them & they were pinched from our door. :sad2:

That's crazy, I didn't honestly think that anyone would steal magnets from someone else's door :confused3

Quite often the door magnet stealing is mischief(:confused3) making by kids and teens and you might find them on a door somewhere down the corridor!

Thanks Mary...off to have a look on eBay to get me a whiteboard.
