We are Margaret and DH Norman this is our first disney cruise, and our children will not be with us :scared1::scared1::scared1:.... not so sure about that one now as time gets nearer.
And we are from Kent in the UK......looking forward to meeting you all

Am so hoping we will get booked, being first timers we are still waiting for our booking window on 27th june

margaret

Margaret, we are childless and took the TA last year - it was so much fun! There is lots to do onboard for adults.

Also, don't worry too much about the Palo reservations. I don't think there will be Tea reservations available, but you should be able to get into brunch and dinner. Our TA last year was our first Disney cruise so we didn't get to book early either and we still got reservations when we got onboard.

For my British friends out there  I've been watching a show on Netflix called Wire in the Blood and while I'm really enjoying it, I am surprised by how graphic it can be ... it well and truly outstrips CSI in that arena. I was just wondering if this is general tv viewing or is it shown on something like HBO or Showtime? :confused3

BTW I love Robson Green, I'm definitely going to look him up on more shows :goodvibes

Our fav british series is Agatha Christie's Poirot with David Suchet. We just love those & have grown quite fond of the characters. They don't air anymore unfortunately, but our library carries many of them so we get them when we can.

Have a great night everyone! I'm off to cook dinner :upsidedow

We're looking forward to seeing y'all! :thumbsup2
No alcohol involved at this brunch, though....it might be a first for all of us! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hear ya girl! No alcohol here either....we have a 6 hr trip ahead of us to get back home! We'll do the alcohol thing on the boat since no designated drivers are necessary (except for the captain of the ship! :sail:):rotfl2:

C ya next Sunday!!!! :goodvibes

lynne - when you do the next few updates - could you copy that into it? that way, if people are only reading the updates, they'll still find that info.....thanks :)

:thumbsup2

I do so appreciate the "Tough Love" attitude. Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside! :rotfl2: I've read the second book "The Girl Who Played With Fire" Awesome! Now I have the third book but holding out to read it til we go to the beach at Hilton Head during 4th of July (and it's killing me to walk past the book because it whispers to me "Read me...Read me!")

I'll wait til August and then I'll bug you fellow dis'ers with more recommendations! lol

But....thanks again for the tough love....I feel the Disney love!!! :lmao:

So glad I get the chance to practice! (and found someone with a sense of humor)

...Just trying to get use to the keyboad on this iPad, it might take a few days to get used to :rotfl:

Congratulations on the new addition to the family.

Sounds like a great idea! I'm traveling a lot in July, but my schedule eases up in August. The question is, with or without my kids ;)

We live in unincorporated southern Wake County. Technically our mailing address Apex, for some reason, but you have to drive through Cary and Holly Springs to get to Apex, so it is somewhat misleading. I grew up in Orlando, just moved here 5 years ago. My father and 3 sisters all worked at WDW at some point.

BTW, my DS 7 is having oral surgery next week for 3 root canals. We don't have dental insurance, but our medical will be paying for most of the anaesthesiologist (sp?) and OR room, but between our deductible and the dentist costs, it will be $4700 out of pocket :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We just found this out a few weeks ago AFTER I had paid for the cruise in full because we have a GTY. I know for a fact that if I hadn't prepaid this cruise my husband would have put the kabosh on it after we found out about this surgery. So I guess it was a good thing everything is non-refundable;)

Bless your heart! That's enough to blow your budget out to Kingdom come! Wow! that's tough for a young man to have to have 3 root canals! Hope he does well!

Lunch with kids is just fine with me! :thumbsup2 My boys are all grown up so it's nice to get together with kids. August would be fine with me! We're busy til the end of July also. We'll get back in touch then and arrange a day to have lunch! Sounds great!

Ok it is official! We are booked! I am so excited - this means we did both the WBTA and EBTA last year AND this year!!! Looking forward to seeing some of my past DIS friends and also meeting new people!

We are still GTY for a 5c but that is ok - I know we will have a room at some point! We are on early dining and requesting our favorite server - we have had him for 62 nights so far on the Magic (this will add another 14) I am so excited!

It will be me, DH (Ashley), DD-16 and DS - 14

Krisann

:cheer2::cheer2:WELCOME!:cheer2::cheer2:

So glad to hear you are joining us!

Ah so JB is Jimmy Buffet...............JB in this house is Justin Bieber :lmao:

Oh, I'm feeling older by the minute....:sad2:

DD has landed ........ what a relief. I think I lived every minute of that flight. I'll probably find something else to worry about now !

That's what being a mom is all about...as they say, you're only as happy as your least happy child. Glad she's off to a great start!

LOL! I got a real kick out of this. My late brother David used to be the lead singer for the Parrothead Party Band in Virginia Beach so of course the whole family likes Buffet!

Have you ever been to the Margaritaville cafes? I've only been to the one at Universal Orlando and the one in Key West - amazing nachos there!!

We've been to a few, but I really think they're overpriced for what they offer (good food and music, though). DH is excited about the new Margaritaville casino in Atlantic City. It's been in the works for several years, seemed to have fallen through, but is finally back on track and looks like a definite.

Careful - I'm going to start keeping track of these FAB offers! Especially in the second week when funds are getting low. ;)

I love Hiaasen's books. I discovered him from JB's song "The Ballard of Skip Wiley." He's a fellow native Floridian and his stories are all set in Florida. The plots and characters are just crazy, but they do have a strong environmental message. I saw him interviewed once on TV, where they asked him how he comes up with such insane characters. He said something to the effect of "I live in South Florida. I just open the door in the morning." :rotfl: I disagree with him on his opinion of the "Mouse House," though I agree about the overdevelopment of the state. And the former governor who regularly shows up in his books is one of my all-time favorite characters.

Thanks for the info. I vaguely recall hearing something about him; your comments sound familiar (esp about the Mouse House). We pulled out Barometer Soup today to listen to Skip Wiley, just for fun (yep, found a cassette player!) Larry does recall the movie "Hoot", in which JB and CH worked together, but that's about all.

If you want those FABs, it might be better to hit us all up the first week, before we run out of OBC! :rolleyes1

Darn, now I can't stop thinking of Justin Bieber :confused3 :headache: :scared:

just googled it and its apparently an ITV show, which is one of the five basic channels everyone in the country gets, regardless of whether theyve got cable or sky or whatever. guessing it must be shown quite late based on your description!

You won't be able to book High Tea online as it is full (hardly any of the Silver cruisers got one either) Brunch is also rather full with only a few days/times available online, lots of dinner availability.

Hopefully we will all get want we want once we are onboard. :wizard:

I feel better now .. she just called and she was about to board the shuttle to the complex ... she sounded very excitable. It was so lovely to hear her voice. I'm afraid I :sad1::sad1: just a bit.

Awww it's not surprising you were sad.

Hooray for you  I only just finalized my idea, so now I have to hand draw, hand cut, and hand drill (Ed is drilling) ... bet you can't guess what it is :laughing:

We (non iPad owners) feel so sorry for you
Welcome back Mary :goodvibes

Oooooh that sounds intriguing!

:lmao: We should start a NiO support group.........(Non iPad Owner) :rotfl2:

I've not seen it but it is on a channel that is available to everyone, I think it's on at 9 or 10pm so past the watershed.

I don't think Robson Green has been in that much in recent years, he used to be in a program called Soldier Soldier in the late 80's, early 90's.

Hi Sarah! Any word back yet on the timeslot for this? If Morrison's opens at 10, we can make our Morrison's run first I would think?

Not yet .... I have been emailing almost daily but they are not the best at replying. It is frustrating to say the least. He was trying to get us back on the earlt time slot. I will email again today.

Glad to hear Taryn has landed safely. When will she find out where she will be working?

Hopefully in the next few days .... she has orientation and Disney traditions classes for the next few days before she starts on the job training.

Hooray for you  I only just finalized my idea, so now I have to hand draw, hand cut, and hand drill (Ed is drilling) ... bet you can't guess what it is :laughing:

I always think CSI is very graphic .... my DD watches it all the time. Robson Green is really good when he does less serious roles. He was brilliant in a show called "Christmas Lights" a few years ago. I also loved him in "Soldier Soldier" which was one of his first roles I think ... I am not really into crime shows so I haven't seen "Wire in the Blood" He also dabbled in the music business with his co-star from "Soldier Soldier" Jerome Flynn.

He's on TV at the moment ..... in the incredibly exciting show " Extreme Fishing with Robson Green" :rotfl2:

I have been reading for so long now but realized I have never added us to the list of cruisers:rolleyes1. There will be me(Tracey), hubby Dave and relatives Lesley and Tony.

Whereabouts in Kent are you both from?

FE REMINDER

I've heard from 35 of the 51 () people signed up for the FE. If you have not yet done so, you need to go to the link below and request an invitation in order to see your FE group list. I've taken the full list off of the first page. If you want to see the list, you will need to join the Google group.

WBTA FE 2011

I'll be at work all day today, so if you request an invitation please be patient. I'll confirm you as soon as I can after work.

Also, if you haven't given me your favorite color info for my FE gifts, and you care about it, please send me a PM. The men are all getting the same color item, but I'm trying to do favorite colors for the women's and children's gifts.

Thanks!

Hi from Evansville Indiana. Finally in a hotel where there is internet. How people live without it in this day and age, I do NOT understand. (we were at my s.i.l.'s house and they don't even have a computer at all.)

Isn't there already a spreadsheet for this cruise? confused as to why there is a seperate spreadsheet for FEs. . . that I can't get into. Gotta find that recap so I know what's going on!

Happy Day, All!

mandy - thinking about using one of your graphics you posted on your photo gallery for part of my FE gift. is there any way you or anyone else can add the dates to the image? its this one:

I know how to do that much. I made a door magnet with our names on it. Let me know if you still need it done.
