Dear Disney Cruise Line
I would like my cabin number please

OK I know probably not till 45 days out....but sometimes you're early...and I just feel like looking at the ship and thinking about where I'll be sleeping and dressing and coming from every day. So please...may I have my cabin number!

Thank you

My advise-travel light-no one cares what you wear or if you wear it more than once.[/QUOTE]

so so true!!!!

I'm really nervous about what to pack and hoping if i get an inside cabin that it doesn't start to smell of old socks by day 10... I've never packed for 15+days with out laundry cleaning and I don't really want to pay. Is it doable and can i pack light?

LOL I bring an air freshener & a nightlight when I have an inside room!!

For GTYs....on the ebta we pretty much ALL (that I knew of) got our room assignments at about 30 days out.

A few found they had been further adjusted a bit closer to sailing with an upgrade here & there.... I think with all the specials they run on the TAs, they sort of give it a lot of time to book, as opposed to the regular cruises, squeezing every last booking out that they can..:rotfl:

And then, as mentioned, we had NO upgrades at the port...maybe we will this time though.

THANK YOU for the Bath pics - wow, now I need to go!!

I feel better now knowing that others are going to be re-wearing clothes onboard. I was slightly worried...:goodvibes

Looks like a few of us are going to be doing a few loads of washing whilst onboard. Will be taking some washing tablets with me I think :)

party in the laundry rooms!!!

We (mainly I) have been on edge the last couple of days. We just decided to start letting Bella (the Beagle), who is turning two this month, stay home all day by herself (11 or so hours). She has the two cats to keep her company so she's not totally alone.

She had been going to a woman's house all day during the week (she did "doggie daycare" in her home) since we got her at 10 weeks old.

I can check in on her to see what's going on via webcam (gotta love iPhones!) but we're both just hoping that since she was around people and other dogs all day long since she was 10 weeks old that this does not cause a change in her personality.

I don't know how you guys with actual human babies do it! Furbabies are hard enough to not feel guilty about! :rotfl2:

I know exactly what you mean! We have 2 cats that are used to us being around all day as we work from home so when we go away it's always a worry. We used to get our neighbour to cone in twice a day and feed them but they weren't used to so much alone time!!
We now use house sitters that give Bob and Poppy lots of fuss and attention!!!

Pat,
Anyway, the thought that my DH Steve would ever iron....well, let's just say that a hot place would have to freeze completely over first! Come to think of it, I do my best not to iron either!

Keri

I'm with you Keri! I have a steamer that I'll use, but ironing is not in my job description.....nor is vaccumming for that matter!

Plans are still up in the air. I'm obsessed with Dr. Who and Catherine Tate among other BBC shows... so just walking around the city is going to be enough. I'm going to keep my eye on free showings of BBC shows, see if i can sit in the audience to anything. Definitely want to hit either parliament or Buckingham Palace. Other than that, just enjoy London Town.

Sounds like a lot of fun. We have never been to London - one thing I'd have to do is get a proper english tea and also a curry while there. We are obsessed w/ the UK series "Poirot."

:and of course, Tower Bridge:

Fifty days and I will be in London!

Great photos of London & a fantastic run-down of the Baths. My husband has a Lego set of the tower bridge that he's working on right now :rolleyes1

Glad you had a lovely weekend Liz. :goodvibes

Thanks Claire! It was great to visit w/ old friends.

Good morning. Looks lovely out here, but it is still behaving like April daily.

Our local agricultural show (http://www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk/html/home/) starts today for three days so traffic is a problem and Sainsbury's (supermarket) has to close as it is next to the showground and people can't get there to shop because of traffic. Major roads coming in are already blocked up with hour long delays which will only get worse. Fun!!!

Do you go to the show? Or is it just a pain to deal with without any benefits?
We used to live near a strawberry festival site in Virginia Beach when I was a child, it was a pain but we loved the festival so it was easier to live with.

I have just received an email from DCL saying I now owe 4p on my cruise balance. I've just rang them and they say it's because the goverment fees & taxes have gone up 4p.

Has anyone else had one of these?

Just got a confirmation email from Disney, the same type I've gotten every time I have added a reservation for something or changed anything. Nothing looks new or changed, just wondered why they sent it--and if anyone else got one. No extra charge, either.

I received the same. Thought it might mean that we had our room assignment but alas, no.

I'm not Linda, but here's the link. (Just found and bookmarked it a few days ago!

Thanks Tammy! I asked you a while back but never got an answer I don't think, but what does smootenloopers mean? Its such an unusual word/name, I'm curious.

 It is very hard to leave them!

Before we worked from home, Lucky had to stay at home for about 9-10 hours every weekday by himself. Something that really helped w/ the separation anxiety that he had was to leave him with a special treat or toy every time we left. So in the mornings, I would make him a Kong and he would only get it as I walked out the door - and that was the ONLY time he received Kongs. It got to the point that he would follow me around and try to hurry me up to leave so he could get his treat already.

Anyhow, depending on Bella's preferences, a Kong, toy or maybe even a Nina Ottosson game would help with the transition.

Thanks for the info on the VG Baths Lynne. Have you been yourself? If so, did you enjoy it?

We've been 2 times. It is very fun and pretty cool that you get to a beautiful beach after the adventure of climbing through the rocks. If you have snorkeling gear, there are lots of fish around the beach (if the weather is good.) Also, after you're done, you can grab a frozen drink at the Top of the Rocks bar.

*I know that for those not as physically active, they can reach the beach by walking down a road as well.

To my disboard kindle owners. Looking for suggestions on what book you enjoyed that was a free download. thanks Cindy

We feed her using a Kong now and she enjoys it. We bought her a Tug-A-Jug (not sure if you have seen them) but she's not keen on it. She knows there's food in it but she seems disinterested in trying to get it out. I've tried to teach her how to use it and she looks at me like "you expect me to work to get fed? Not worth it!"

they seem to know that if they leave it long enough, you'll do the work for them! dogs aren't that stupid!

maybe we should take along a bottle of wine or FAB, it'll make the laundry a hell of a lot more enjoyable :)

I will second that idea! Every time I tried to use a laundry room on the ebta this year (and last year), they were PACKED and people were grouchy! I heard from Krisann that 2 am is a better option, but never found it convenient to go then...lol

Bev I did laundry once, mid morning, and while it was full I was able to get one washer and then one dryer for my stuff. I think the people were grouchy cuz they were sitting in there the whole time and it's HOT! If someone really wants to steal my clothes, they can have at it! I am not sitting down there for over an hour.

BTW I got the same response as you yesterday, we can't order gifts, wine package etc due to paying in £'s. They did however let me pre pay the gratuities - they charged them in £'s. :thumbsup2

I was told on the EBTA they would have both euros and pounds available to exchange, turns out they did NOT have pounds, not sure wether they will this direction or no, but maybe you could exchange with some of us, at a better rate than the taxi drivers in G'rock do! LOL.

Hi Mary

We don't have to pay it. They waived the 4p fee...we did ask if we needed to pay it could we finance it :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks Michelle :thumbsup2 I'll give them a call later

Phew!!! I'd been worrying about where we were going to find the extra money all day. ;)

We only have fur babies too and I totally get you about the guilt!!!! I blame their big beautiful eyes that make you feel so guilty every time you leave them, even if it's only for an hour! :guilty:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: this cruise is getting so expensive with all the added expenditure that keeps cropping up :rotfl2:

My little furballs have been left since they were about 10 weeks old. My first yorkie was called destruct-a-dog and he ate the plants, furniture, carpets, lino and skirting boards with separation anxiety. We got another one a few months later to calm him down and it worked.

Second time around we got Tod & Copper out of the same litter, I was determined not to have to change all my furniture, carpets etc as we had just moved into a new house. It broke my heart every day leaving them as I had put them in a crate, mind you it was a labrador sized crate, so they had room to move around. The little faces, when I closed the door, were so sad, it was awful. Mind you they only got left for 3 hours at a time, so it wasn't all day.

After a year I weaned them out of the crate and I don't have one tooth mark on anything :)

I wash through all our daytime clothes and Stevie's shirts which are tumble drier friendly, a few times during the cruise. I just couldn't leave underwear and socks for 14 nights :scared1::scared1:

As for my night-time wear, I take 14 dresses, which doesn't take up as much room or weight as you think in the case. I can't re-wear them and would have to put them in for dry cleaning on the ship as I usually spill something at some point in the evening :lmao:

I'm like Marilyn, I have my cruise clothes, as we don't get the opportunity to wear the nice clothes here due to the climate, so take full advantage of wearing my pretty dresses, that lie in the wardrobe from year to year, on my cruises :lovestruc

It was crazy in the laundry rooms in June. I have never seen them like that before. I only did a couple of loads, but I did them at 4 am one morning when I couldn't get back to sleep. I wasn't alone, there was another lady there with the same idea. My whole sea day would have been wasted constantly checking the laundry for a spare washer and then a spare drier.

I'm the same with the ironing, I always pick out the next days clothes and go and iron them at really random times when it's quiet :thumbsup2
