Hello everyone - we are still have not booked this cruise yet but did place 2 dummy cruises on the EBTA so I have it for this cruise if we get to go. I hope no one minds if I hang out at this point because I really think we will be coming.

We got home late saturday night from the EBTA and it was great once again. There were some changes from last years EBTA and I will be comparing my navigators to see.

One change I did not like is that the merchandise for the TA was crappy - the only things they had were T-shirt, magnet, postcard and pin. They also did away with the keepsake menu this year - we still had the transatlantic menu - just not dated and it was the same as last year just without the dates.

Ducky was on our cruise again, but will not be on the WBTA - so that makes me sad.

The gifts we got was a Ducky print and a travel valet.

Any other questions? (and I am not sure if anyone else on here was on the EBTA this year too, I have not gone back to read yet - so if i am repeating I am sorry)

Krisann

Hi Krisann

Welcome back

There are quite a few folks here from last years WBTA so you're sure so recognise some familiar faces,

Glad you had a good time on the EBTA but a shame about those little changes, I was really hoping to get a sketch session with Ducky this time....

So who was your "star guest" performer ????

Hi Krisann and welcome to our cruise thread. It would be really great if you were able to do the WBTA cruise this year. Shame about Ducky Williams ... we were hoping for a sketch session as we missed out last time. Shame about the keepsake menu too.

Did you have any different performers and do you know who will be the cruise director for the WBTA?

Posts are odd today!!! Sarah answered you Krissan before you posted!!!:rotfl2:

Hi Krisann. I hope you are onboard with us. It is a shame about the souvenirs. We noticed the ladies t shirts were terrible on the PC cruise. I guess the Transatlantic isn't a very special cruise now, and of course they don't get full.

BUT, we can all still have a fantastic time!!:dance3:

Hi
I've just checked my booking details and my TA has included a "free" Disney transfer to MCO. We are picking up a car at the airport. I never asked why we did'nt pick it up at the port but I can guess it's more economical at the airport!

Check with your TA or Disney to see if this complementary transfer is across the board

thanks - I have been dropping in from time to time here and see some familiar faces - it is more likely we will be on than not. Hubby is still working in Iraq and we have to wait to see what plays out in June, then we will kno for sure.

The DVC member cruise is during the WBTA and he will be on that one. :(

Charo was our guest star. Was interesting.

thanks- not sure who the cruise director will be - we had Peter and I have to say I liked him, I miss Brent, but . . . Natalie is now an assistant cruise director and Carly has taken over as the "Bingo" queen :)

oh yes we still had a fantastic time, and what I will do is make my own souveniors through pictures, etc. It was all good.

The only auction was a silent auction of Ducky's prints as the gallery people are gone.

oh and they did have sweat shrits - dh got one. They did have lots of med stuff though.

Is Peter the chap who was assistant cruise director on our WBTA cruise? Was he English ? Don't remember Natalie in particular, but if she was the dark haired girl with the pony tail she was very good at what she did.

No art gallery any more .. thats sad, I used to enjoy looking at the art work.

I have responded to the post from Krisann which is on the next page, but it has appeared on the previous page ... before the original post I am responding too. This is getting very weird :confused3

Welcome back! :cheer2: Bummer about Ducky. :(

Were the character breakfasts held near the end of the long stretch of sea days? We are trying to figure out if our date for Pajama Breakfast is okay.

Someone mentioned they were pixie dusted with park hopper tickets and a cabin upgrade. Was that across the board?

I just looked online at my reservation and didn't see anything about ground transportation being added on. We've reserved a one-way car rental with hopes of going to see Kennedy Space Center. Still not sure how long we will stay in Orlando, but one of the families I tutor live there and have already requested to have dinner so we can meet in person. :)

Mandy - what thread did you see this in? Do you know if the park hopper tickets were only for the days immediately following the cruise or were they an open-ended date that you could use them in the future?

You know I am not really sure - our breakfast was on the same day as the PJ breakfast so we did not make it to the PJ breakfast. I personally would do it on the sea day between tortola and Castaway or the very first sea day.

I know nothing about park hoper tickets - many people got upgrades but not everyone.

My negative post of the day. I hope we aren't going to be having a second class experience on this WBTA. Quite a few of us on January's PC cruise on the Wonder felt that went through that then. We all enjoyed it of course. But......!

There is someone here who is booked on Deck 1. I think it is Melanie. Well this is what someone said who has just returned from the EBTA,

"I was worried about staying deck one with the small portholes...I was concerned that there would not be enough light let in. Well, we loved the location (mid ship) and connecting rooms! The kids enjoyed being so close to the water...the sun would reflect off the ocean onto the ceiling and make patterns. Midship was perfect for my MIL and it was super easy to get her an elevator on deck one. Such a quiet location and less creaking in the room overall. Seemed to be less "wear and tear" in the room as well. My DH adored being on a lower deck, I doubt we will ever book a verandah room again!"

I did not feel we had that on the EBTA except for the merchandise - and that was just me - others probably did not care or know the difference. Everything else was great - had lobster one night, and another had lobster tail, so many tastings you could drink from morning to night if you wished that way. I think we will get a ducky print, my thinking is it will be presigned like he did for Alaska since he was on that as a guest and not working I think is what he said in his presentation. I slep through my signing time, so I will have to bring it back to the Hawaii cruise if he is on that one.

My adult son and I will be cruising with you all. Please add Karen and Kevin to the list. He is indeed my "dear son", but could you list our ages as "over 21" rather than being specific. I don't think either of us want to admit our ages!

I haven't read the entire board, but it sure seems like there will be a great many nice people on the cruise.

We are not big on organized activities, but we really like being around friendly folks.

I have been on many cruises in the Caribbean, but I have never attempted a crossing before. The idea of packing for such a long time freaks me out, but I am already getting excited about being on the ship for 14 days.

I look forward to meeting everyone,
Karen

Well with all the great FE gifts, lanyards, pin, scrapbook bits...etc, we'll be giving and receiving, who needs all the that overpriced merchandise anyway.;)

Hi Karen: There are several of us traveling with "adult" children, so you're not alone. DH and I were on last year's EBTA and found that packing for 5-7 days and doing laundry onboard worked perfectly. With luggage restrictions, it can be challenging (not to mention, FE and SM gifts, dressy clothes, etc, taking up space), but 14 days on the Magic is so worth the effort. Welcome aboard! :cheer2:
