marilyn what kind of identification do you need to get back on, does it have to be photo id?? i dont drive so dont have a driving licence, so i presume i would have to use my passport:sad2:

I think you can use a photocopy of your passport. I know I read in the PassPorter guide that they will accept that. I just used my driver's license to get on in the Bahamas.

I've also seen signs around here that say it's illegal to make a photocopy of passports, driver's licenses, etc. But then the State Dept. tells you to do that and leave your info with someone at home while you're traveling. Umm... oka-ay. :confused3 I make a couple of copies - one to leave w/ someone here, and one to carry with me in case I need it.

I want to repeat what Karen has said as it applies to all DIS organised activities.....

If you want to sign up to any of the activities that various people are arranging then you must contact whoever is organising that particular event here on the DIS, confirming you want to take part on the registration of Noel & Johns website will NOT get you added to the official list.

And I'll repeat it again,

This same information applies to the FE Exchange. You must PM me your information or you will NOT be added to the official list!!

There are a bunch of people on the October cruise thread who have said, "I want to do the FE," but haven't sent me their information. Hope they're not too disappointed (aka, ticked off) when they're not on the final list. I've posted the sign-up info several times over there - in big letters - but still have people asking "how do I sign up?" Please, there are only 35 pages of posts - read, people!

That's why I love this group - so organized! Brilliant idea to post all the necessary info on the 1st page! Oh, and chatty, too. Got to love that! :lovestruc

It does have to be a photo ID. As Pat said, I'm not sure if a photocopy of your passport will do, but you could take one and ask onboard beforehand. Or, send off an email to DCL.

Last year, the semi formal(I think) was the Prince and Princess menu and theme. Many ladies dolled themselves up and tiaras were a plenty. Will you be taking a tiara if we have that night?

Theme night was Villains as mentioned before. Again, if it is going to be held again, and I see no reason why not with the Villains show on the Magic. Are any of you going to dress up as a villain or do as was our Dis group theme, wear black and purple?

All adds to the fun!!

I will have my tiara for the Champagne girls so could wear that. ;)

We will wear purple &/or black for villains night, I want to make a purple & black mask to take with us, but only if we find out beforehand that it is definately on as I don't want to waste luggage space.

I will absolutely be bringing a tiara! And I have the coolest purple dress for Villian's night - except that it's a bit form-fitting and I'm having my doubts about getting into it. But, of course, I have a back-up purple dress, just in case.

We will take any excuse to get dressed up!

Last year you could make them there during the day, but I guess that will take you away from sunbathing or something!!!:lmao:

Fab!!:thumbsup2 Lets hope the Villains night is early in the cruise then!!!;)

Last year we did use a copy of our passport on the ebta cruise and did not have any problems

LADIES PALO HIGH TEA UPDATE

Well I am disappointed to say that it looks as though DCL are not going to pay ball with us. :sad2: I emailed them to see what/when/how to arrange it and this is the response that just came back.....

Hi Claire,

Since we cannot use the private room in Palo for high tea, we are unable to offer a group option for you. You certainly can check once on the ship to see if they have they can accommodate you.

Sorry we couldn’t be of more help.

:headache: I think that it will be too difficult to try to organise this when we are actually on the ship as everyone will have different availability. :sad2:

Very Frustrating!

Claire

I am sorry that it has taken awhile to get back to this thought. I am on the concierge level and on two separate occasions I have contacted the DCL concierge staff to see if I could help get the tea organized. The final response is that they can't reserve any more space for me than the size of my cabin while still precruise. If we would pick an official date then several cabins would need to reserve tables to get enough space. Each table accomodates up to 4 people. As you were told, the other suggestion from DCL was to wait until on the ship and then see if there was an opportunity to get this organized.

Hi Mel.

Don't worry about the bottle, you will be able to fit the box in the in-room fridge!!!!:cool1:

Last year we took one box with us in our checked bags, then bought a couple of boxes in Morrisons, for the rest of the cruise, oh... and then did the winery tour in Madiera and had to buy a bottle from them, it was only polite.:yay:

At the moment we are in Pittsburgh PA visiting some friends so unable to keep up with the posts as much as usual.

We,re off to see a ball game tonight...Go Pirates...

Are there any cruisers in the Pittsburgh area?

Back home in a couple of weeks.
Not long to go to the cruise:yay::yay:!!

Jane & Dave

Jane & Dave

Just checking up on the boards and noticed that you were looking for Pittsburgh cruisers which we are. You may already be out of the area. Hope that you enjoyed our soggy city ( although yesterday there was actually sun!!!).
:yay::cool1:

Well I have just tried to order some T'shirts from Vistaprint with the 50% off. I was just on the payment page and I added a voucher which I thought was for free delivery and it wasn't it has wiped all the 50% off from the order...:( They are still in my cart, so going to have to wait till tomorrow to call them and see what they can do.

Why I have to meddle I'll never know :(

Nevermind, I got it back - All ordered now:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if they ship the T'shirts from the USA?

Illegal or not, having a photocopy of your passport info page makes getting a new passport while on vacation in a foreign country much easier. That's what the US Embassy used to issue my replacement for a stolen passport .

Just remember to keep the photocopy separate from your passport!

The Magic has left Madeira now and the next time it docks there we'll be on it  :dance3::woohoo::cheer2:pirate:

Sounds like we will definately be having a party on Deck 10 then. :dance3:

We can all watch Karen dancing. ;)
Absolutely :dance3:

It is the new things isn't it?

Yummy, the first lunch!!! I asked my husband last year sometime what he was most looking forward to, and he said - 'the first lunch'!!!

Tony is exactly the same ... he always says when he sits down to that first lunch he knows he is actually there :yay::yay:

There's a really cool dance we did at the sail away (with a cocktail in the hand) up on deck 10 last year. It is one they also do for the adults in Rockin Bar D when the disco comes on. It's steps to the right and left, a couple of kicks of the feet and you turn round and do it all again.

Not sure what it's called :confused3

Now I wouldn't mind doing that with a few of you, I can join the bad dancing too :rotfl2::rotfl2:

if the dance involves a cocktail in hand then I'm in !!!

Oh my goodness it does Karen. We are a bit late doing so for a few reasons, but so pleased it is done now.

woooo hooooo ..... wonderful news that your flight is booked .... that means you are definitely on board

Just back from Disneyland where we got to ride the new Star Tours ride. It officially opens June 3 so this was a special treat!!

What did you think of it ?

Long day with big hail and tornadoes...We had golfball size hail at the house, but no damage that we can see.

I had to go on air for 5 straight hours this evening covering storms. We had one small town in our viewing area take a direct hit from a tornado. Luckily, even though 200 houses were hit, no one was seriously injured that we know of.

This vacation can't come soon enough! Spring can be so exhausting.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: don't like the sound of that hail !
Some more pics....

What a wonderful thought Mel :thumbsup2:yay::thumbsup2
