Didn't get an answer to this one, so I thought I'd reprise it. Has anyone gone to Europa Point? Not a lover of heights, so I shan't be going up the rock under any circumstances:laughing:

We did stop at Europa Point as part of the tour we were on of the whole place. Whilst it was good to stop off there on a tour, I really wouldn't bother to go there specially. Nothing really there, though decent views I suppose.

We're so glad, here in Ukraine the movies only play in Ukrainian, and we've learned Russian. Our last theatre movie was Toy Story 3 in Paris last September! Can't wait for September !!! :dance3:

Wow! Then I will see you in the theater a lot ;) That is something we really liked on the TA cruise & we saw quite a few movies. They run them throughout the day as late as midnight and even some in 3D. Anyhow, it was one of the things about the Magic that we really enjoyed.

WE are deliberately avoiding seeing Tangled so we can see it in board the Magic. We won't be able to avoid Pirates 4 though, as we will be there on the first day to see that ... can't wait pirate:pirate: I'm sure we will see it on the ship a few more times though.

Oh Sarah, you are going to LOVE Tangled, the story is very well done.

We will probably wait to see Pirates 4 until we get on the ship. Maybe we'll also see African Cats, Mars Needs Moms (though I heard its not too great) and one I'm really excited about - the new Winnie the Pooh that is coming out in summer (thought I don't think I can wait for Sept to see that one.)

Well I had some good news yesterday. Our son, David, got a good promotion another step up the ladder and a lot more £££. He works for British Airways and has worked really hard for it. I'm so thrilled, and proud of him and my DH would have been too :)

Hey Marilyn is that a Hawaiian cruise I can spy in your signature - how fabulous :D

Congratulations to your son on his promotion ... well done :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

oh yes and Marilyn ... you kept that one quiet !!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

Okay, I think I've decided what I want to do for my FE gifts. I'm going to be making something, and following Jacqueline's lead, if you have a color you really love - or really hate - please let me know. I may not be able to do everyone's favorite color, but at least I can avoid what you don't like.

Also, I'm going to try to make something for the younger kids (older ones will get what the adults are getting), so if your child has a particularly favorite color, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

You can either send me a PM or visitor msg here, or send me a msg of Facebook.

Thanks!

Hmm. May have to rethink that - I was really looking for a glimpse of Africa - probably as close as I'll ever get to the real thing.

Mandy, sent you a pm about the gardens tour.

My Scrapbook exchange stuff is done, but haven't got a CLUE about FE yet.

Last year when stumbled onto a good tour of Gibraltar. Jackie and Monica (ibouncetoo and mishoe) and friends were getting a taxi for a taxi tour and had space for my niece and me. Our tour guide was Paul del Mar - just looked him up on google and found another recommendation for him, too. The taxi was a comfortable mini-van (held five or six, comfortably). Paul is a retired policeman and British soldier, father, and born in Gibraltar.

We saw baby monkeys, Europa Point, stopped and took photos and stopped at the caves and such. As none of us were keen to go all the way through the caves, I can't remember how the tour would have worked if we had. I think he would just have waited for us.

According to the website, cost is 22 GBP or 25 euros pp. Some of us got dropped off in town (a taxi to the port is 1.5 euros pp) and some returned to the boat. Possibly he would have dropped off at Morrisons, as it is on the way back to the ship.

LindaBabe - your ticker for the Hawaii cruise says "Hula to Hawaii" - that's what I had until I changed it to Wahines on the Wonder. :goodvibes

Well then still go or you might regret it in future. I think Africa was just a haze when we were there!

Hi Mark (Paragd911), just read your NYE trip report. Loved the photo of Shadow wearing his Mickey ears shaking paws with Pluto :) JJ looks as if he (?) loves the camera too! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to meeting you all on the WBTA.

Is that where you have to go to see Africa? Can you see it from the rock? I'm with Linda - we may have to go as it's probably as close as we'll ever get to it, too. (I just don't think Busch Gardens in Tampa counts.)

LOL! Right there with ya - I definitely want to be able to see Africa. :thumbsup2 And we LOVE Busch Gardens -- both Tampa and Williamsburg. Did them both almost two years ago - awesome coasters. (And the waterpark in Williamsburg is awesome as well - very shaded.)

Yes, you can see Africa from other vantage points; we did an "official" taxi tour without Europa Point and felt like we had seen what little there was to see of the other continent (somewhat hazy that day). Since DD hasn't been to Gib, we'll be doing the same type of tour this year but may not bother with the cave or tunnels (unless she wants to). The roads are definitely scary at times (at least our driver was scary!), but it was well worth the "adventure" and the views were excellent from the rock. DCL-sponsored tours were on buses, which couldn't get as close to some of the sites and meant quite a bit of uphill  walking for their passengers. The taxi tours went right up to each site; much less walking involved. As far as the cable car, you couldn't pay me enough!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

We had very heavy rain and wind in the northeast today, but nothing like the tornadoes experienced in other parts of the country. The local airport did have a window in the control tower blown out from the high winds. Hopefully, no one on the boards has suffered a significant property loss this weekend :flower3:. Since it was not a great day to go out, I hunkered down on the computer and did "research"...:surfweb:...on important subjects like excursions, shopping, and more excursions in all our stops :goodvibes , even for places where we already have plans...:lmao: This is so darned addictive, I'm going to need an intervention by the time we actually sail :sad2:. And some serious grief counseling when the trip is over!

:welcome: to all our new cruisers! Can't wait to meet everyone.

Sorry if I missed it, but I haven't read anything yet about having a Secret Mickey "reveal". On the EBTA, we all met for lunch at Lumiere's on the last sea day to exchange a final gift and meet/thank :chat: each other. Our group occupied several large tables, but purely by coincidence, DH and I were sitting with both of "our" couples; the one who received our gifts and the one to whom we gave gifts. It was great fun, esp. when we realized our SM was a couple with whom we were randomly seated at PC for lunch right after embarking; we immediately knew each other once we started talking about ourselves at the table, just from info we'd shared on the boards, and ran into each other numerous times throughout the trip. It's a very fond memory . Turned out we had never met the couple we were gifting, but it was all good anyway.

Any thoughts? Lunchtime was very convenient, since it didn't appear to interfere with any morning or afternoon activities :thumbsup2.

Did you repeat WB cruisers do this last year, as well?

We did indeed ... only we all met up at Parrot Cay for a farewell lunch, where the SM participants did a reveal and we gave out prizes for the various activities we had been doing during the cruise. It was lovely to have an official get-together on the last sea day.

i havent really thought about organising a reveal thing for the SM, but we could do if people want to.

sarah, what other activities did they have last year that you gave prizes out for?

Well they had a Fish Extender competition ... where a group went around and judged the Fish Extenders and gave prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We also gave out the DIS Scavenger Hunt prizes. I'm not sure if they did a best decorated door prize aswell. It was all just a bit of fun :thumbsup2

I don't seem to be that interested in Gibralter :confused3 The only thing I'm looking forward to is Morrisons :rotfl:

I'm not sure about the cable car, I don't do heights :scared1: And the mountainous roads aren't floating my boat either

I feel that I SHOULD go and have a look but I'm not that enthusiastic about it.

Actually feel the same about Madeira too

Welcome to the new guys :welcome:

Mel x

Now, Madeira is an absolutely beautiful island and well worth a tour around, really!!! If you don't like cable cars, then you can take a taxi up to Monte where the toboggan run is and wander round(perhaps over to the top of the cable car) to get a view down to the port where the Magic will be docked.
