We didn't get up the rock last year because of high winds ... hopefully we will this time. My schedule for Gib is the dolphin trip, followed by a trip in the Cable Car up the Rock, followed by a bit of shopping.

That is our plan for Gib too. :thumbsup2

WE are deliberately avoiding seeing Tangled so we can see it in board the Magic. We won't be able to avoid Pirates 4 though, as we will be there on the first day to see that ... can't wait pirate:pirate: I'm sure we will see it on the ship a few more times though.

Ohhh Sarah you are in for a treat, Tangled is AMAZING! Now one of my favourite Disney films. :cloud9:

We are on Deck 6!!! I am so pleased after being on Deck 7 the last 2 cruises!!

Deck 6 rocks!!;):dance3:

:welcome: Dawn and Steve and family and Colin and Vyonne and family :)

I'm Julie from Newcastle and am travelling solo. This is my second cruise and also my second transatlantic as I enjoyed the first one so much.

No deck 6 for me as I will be on either deck 1 or 2, to be allocated much nearer the time.

Pinky - what an ordeal for you. I hope you feeeling a bit less shaken now. We were burgled many years ago when my DH was woring nights and I was at home with our 2 young children. I was just so mad at the damn nerve of 'people' (for want of a more appropriate word), having the absolute cheek to barge into our home and rob us  But to wait for you to go go to bed is unbelievable.

Well I had some good news yesterday. Our son, David, got a good promotion another step up the ladder and a lot more £££. He works for British Airways and has worked really hard for it. I'm so thrilled, and proud of him and my DH would have been too :)

Hey Marilyn is that a Hawaiian cruise I can spy in your signature - how fabulous :D

Yes indeed Jools, though it is by no means a certainty!

Well done to your son!!

Don't forget to PM me about the dolphin trip :thumbsup2

WE have fed stingrays in Discovery Cove but not in Castaway Cay. It was quite a unique experience and we enjoyed doing it.

we probably wont decide on excursions til much closer to the time, need to concentrate on paying the cruise off first. i'll PM you closer to the cruise and join in if there's still room if thats ok?

gary fed the stingrays at seaworld, i chickened out as soon as they got near me!

Hi, the laundry is starboard midship (slightly more aft of midship) :)

does anyone know where the closest laundry to deck 6 forward is?

We just changed our room number because a secret veranda cabin opened up:cool1: So now we're in room 6634.

Now I just have to get over my irrational fear that my son will climb the veranda and fall over board:rolleyes:

I so happy I just started 14 days of holiday. We just staying at home because my husband has to work most of the time. But we are celebrating my sons 5th birthday on April 28. I cant believe that he is already 5!
I love to party play:cheer2:. We will be having a Mickey Mouse and a Phinneas and Ferb party. So that will be a lot of fun. I'm just a little sad that I can't find Mickey shaped pasta in Europe.

Christina

not sure if you have them in denmark, but i have found them in carrefour in spain before

Jools, please pass on our congrats to David :thumbsup2

Christina - fab news. I noticed that that cabin has been available for awhile, my DH wouldn't let me upgrade to that one.
We had a secret verandah #7620 above #6634? and loved it. I'm sure you will too.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the secret verandahs are cat 8 rooms, they've got restricted verandahs (not fully open due to the metalwork down the side of the ship). They can't class them as verandahs due to the obstruction, so they downgraded them to outside view rooms

They use to be cat 5 or 6 (depending on location I think) now they are cat 7

Check the fine print on that. There's a $75 annual fee. Annual fees are against my religion.

Actually, he bought an Indiana Jones hat on our last trip to the Studios! I have no doubt he'll bring at least one (if not several) of his hats on the trip. Dennis and hats are like me and shoes. In fact, one item I used to entice him on this trip is the fact that there are a couple of old-fashioned hat shops in Barca, near Placa Catalunya. You should've seen his eyes light up when I told him that.

Oh, and An Officer and a Gentleman was Navy. Dennis was Air Force. You don't want to confuse the two! ;)
Now children, let's play nicely. Remember we're all here to have fun together.

Amen to NO annual fees! My husband is retired Air force also.

Been to Gibraltar before? Worth going to Europa point? Otherwise, I'm just planning to do a little shopping and call it good.

Didn't get an answer to this one, so I thought I'd reprise it. Has anyone gone to Europa Point? Not a lover of heights, so I shan't be going up the rock under any circumstances:laughing:

Madeira - same story - no mountain roads. Is anyone interested in a tour of botanical gardens? I have three seats available in my private taxi tour.

It's starboard, across from 7590 - about 10 rooms forward of the aft stairs/elevators.

We're on deck 5, just aft of the lifeboats. According to the deck plan in my PassPorter guide, the sideways staterooms are forward on Deck 6. So feel free to make all the noise you want!! :rotfl:

Thanks..just checking were it was vs our cabin.

I'm also curious about Europa Point. Curt is not a fan of cable cars, but it may be about "the memories" of going of the rock via van?

Madeira - no mountain roads for me, especially if I am not front seat. I was going to look into the botanical gardens as well for the four of us. Hoping the little one counts as an infant being so young.

Thanks Julie. I haven't been sleeping well but right at this very moment a guy is here replacing the broken panel in the door so I am hoping I will feel better now that is done.

I bet you were petrified being alone with two young children, I just hope that one day all these nasty people in the world get what is coming to them.

Congratualtions to your son on his promotion. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Does anyone know where the laundry room is on Deck 5? Is there even one on each Deck? :confused3 I've never noticed them on either of my 4 night cruises as I haven't needed to use them.

Claire I found this for you..

Self Service Laundry Locations: Deck 2, opposite of cabin 2096, Deck 6, opposite of cabin 6588, deck 7 opposite of cabin 7590

Nothing on deck 5, you'll have to join us riverdancers on deck 6:)
