I know Mary, plus the fact that the places we looked at they were expensive. So I suppose it's a blessing ;)
He looked very smart too when he's wore them in the past. What is it with men in kilts:rolleyes1

Men in kilts - I think it's because any man who wears a kilt is secure with who he is and proud of it. :thumbsup2 That's very attractive! In fact, any type of formal wear is sexy because it's so elegant. It shows they're willing to make a little extra effort to look good for us. Gotta love that!

I have a thing for men in hats (real hats; baseball caps don't count). Dennis has a collection of fedoras that he wears all the time. He looks so classy. All the women at his office think he's very cool with his hats!

How does everyone deal with the different currencies used on the excursions? I know we can use a credit card for purchases, but sometimes we'll want to pay in cash. Any suggestions since we're going to so many different places? Thanks, Connie

Oh, Connie just reminded me of a similar question. If you use a credit card, how do they determine the exchange rate? Do the credit card companies have a surcharge for this, or does it depend on the company? We will probably be using our Chase Disney Visa.

Been to Gibraltar before? Worth going to Europa point? Otherwise, I'm just planning to do a little shopping and call it good.

I think so, it's like when we use a UK credit card for purchases over in the USA the card company charge a conversion fee. The exchange rate is always a little bit higher than the tourist rates. You will be charged the rate that is on the day it goes through to the credit card company. It will depend on your CC company the rate and fees etc.

On the ship and Castaway Cay everthing will be charged to your credit card.
With regard to the other ports:-
Barcelona, Gibraltar and Madeira – they are all euros (Gibraltar takes UK Sterling as well)
St Maarten – euros and US dollar
Tortola – US dollar
You will only need dollars and euros in currency :thumbsup2

well if we're going to get blamed for making all the noise, we might as well have fun making it!

I've just been tweaking, I was just checking the cabins and have managed to snag a sideways cabin on Deck 6.

Quite chuffed!!

:banana::banana:Please explain what’s so good about a sideways cabin. We have cabin 7570 and it’s got a blank space opposite just hoping it’s not the laundry or anything bad. But I suppose once you have done a cruise you get a better idea about these things/ or we should have asked !

Anyway congrats on getting the cabin you wanted:yay::yay::yay:

we are on the 6th floor as well 6309, not a sideways cabin sadly but never mind at least we are on the ship lol, susie

i've never had one before, but instead of the door being at the end of the cabin, and walking past the bathroom to get in, you enter the sideways right into the lounge area, so some people say it seems bigger.

chances are its just general crew areas

i think the sideways got snapped up quickly, but keep trying, i managed to snag one not too long ago. keep looking on the website and you might get lucky!

Welcome! We're new to this group too :)

Where are you in Scotland? We're near Stirling.

How did you like your other cruise?

Hi

We are in Falkirk so just up the road!

The last cruise was amazing totally loved it, knew we would do it again.

Yvonne really wanted to do transatlantic so when we saw there were no Med cruises next year together with finding a really good deal on flights home we decided to go for it.
