We live in the cultural wasteland of the universe. The closest anyone gets to dressing up around here is taking off their baseball caps. :sad2: We're more of the "Nick & Nora" (as in "The Thin Man"), "Fred & Ginger" types - except I'm nowhere near as tall and thin as Nora or Ginger. We love that style and elegance. So if you give us a chance to dress like that, we're going for it. But we totally get that we're a bit odd that way, and most normal people don't do that. :rotfl:

Hope we will get to see some dancing like Fred and Ginger the during the cruise.

thanks for the ebay info sarah, have been waiting for a free listing weekend as i missed it last time, just found out my slimfast diet is working just been weighed in the doctors and i have lost a stone since i started at the end of jan, so pleased, getting nearer to my size twelve dress lol, susie

wow Susie that is amazing :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I really must get my backside into gear ... just over 5 months to get cruise-ready and I have 2 weeks in Orlando in July which will turn the weight clock backwards again .... it will be so hard to be in WDW and not have all those wonderful treats such as dole whip, cinnabon bun, toll house cookie sandwich ..... :scared1::scared1:

I do intend to increase my activity levels starting next week, with a walk every evening after work and I have bought Just Dance for the Wii and will give that a go too aswell as Wii Fit. I also need to sort out the diet again.

:lmao::lmao: Not bloody likely!! I said we dress like Fred & Ginger. We dance like Chip & Dale. (And we drink like Nick & Nora. :rolleyes1)

I like Just Dance - it's fun, but didn't do much for me. I lent it to a friend's daughter who needs to lose a few pounds. Wii Fit did nothing for me, but Wii Active was okay. I hope those work better for you. I was doing Zumba for a while, which is supposed to burn off the fat like mad, but it didn't do much for me, either. However, once I started walking, I started to see some results. Funny, too, because walking is so much easier than everything else.

Wow, that's fabulous!! :worship: (BTW, I used to know this, but how much is a "stone?")

Size 12 (American) is my goal, too. But I have to say, for a couple of the dresses I've picked up on ebay, if those are size 12's, I'm Princess Di! I try to go by measurements rather than sizes now.

I bought DD Just Dance for her birthday in February...it's a good work out indeed but also a very good laugh:rotfl:

a stone is 14lb, i have to loose the weight or i wont have any clothes to wear lol, i have bought size 12 dresses and tops of ebay and i will fit in them, we live near a cemetry and walk round it every night but john has asked if we can walk somewhere different next week as its a bit depressing lol, susie

Our plan is a suit for Curt. And I am less formal as well due to packing limitations, post-preggo body, etc... I did think of renting a tux for him to save on packing, but not sure if he's up for that. I've only seen him in a tux once...

I looked into the tuxes on the WBTA and was disappointed that the only real choice you have is the basic black tux - no fun vests, ties, etc. It must be due to the selection they have in Barcelona. :( We'll be doing suits instead.

My SIL and GS rented the basic tuxes and brought along the fun vests, ties etc. that I purchased for them on Ebay.

I hadn't thought of that. A quick search of "Mickey Mouse Tuxedo" on eBay brought up a neat black & white Mickey vest & bow tie. :)

Dennis wore these with his tux for our wedding! A co-worker gave them to him as a wedding present. When he was getting dressed, he was about to put on the white ones that came with the tux, b/c he thought I'd prefer those. I told him I wouldn't marry him if he didn't wear the Mickeys! :rotfl:

Just Dance 2 is actually even better for a workout then Just Dance the original. I have them both and when I just can't take another Jillian Michaels workout (which are great, but tough) I throw on Just Dance 2, work up a good sweat and have a great time doing it!

If you go to ebay.com the item# is 180643941973. You may be able to look at it that way. I'm sorry, I tried to post the picture. Or I could email it to you. I'm awful, I buy stuff on ebay all the time, expecially Disney stuff.

:lovestruc gorgeous dress :thumbsup2

I have been having so much fun making door magnets. Now that I figured out how to do it, I have been playing, playing, playing instead of working. Slow at work. I have so many door magents I will have to switch them off after the first week. ha ha ha. No one will be able to miss our door. SOOOOOOOOO excited. My Iphone trip countdown gets me more excited everyday. :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It is definitely addictive!!! Once you get started, you just can't stop. It's fun to see how many different ones you can make. I did the same thing, Debra, I switched them around during the cruise and also moved some from the back of the door to the front!!! :rotfl2: FUN! :cheer2:

Brilliant, I always do a few, but this is giving me encouragement to do lots :rotfl:

Well done Susie a stone since January is amazing, keep us the fantastic work :thumbsup2

My DD's zumba for the wii should arrive anytime, I was hoping that it would be good excercise, the same as going to the class, is it not as good :confused3

You'll look fantastic, go for it :thumbsup2 you'll love the attention you get when wearing it

Did he have success with being properly fitted with the tux onboard? Curt is afraid they wouldn't have his size. I think in US, pant size is 30"x32". :confused3 He's a skinny boy!

He could get measured for a tux at a local formalwear shop and use those measurements to rent a tux. They do it all the time for destination weddings and there's usually no charge for the service.

I'm right there with you. I'm nervous about being underdressed. I don't have fancy dresses, at least ones that I didn't wear to a Prom. And when you start considering limited budgets, limited suitcase space/weight... for a woman what is "dressy enough?"

Little black dress, long skirt with an array of tops, evening trousers

:lmao::lmao: Not bloody likely!! I said we dress like Fred & Ginger. We dance like Chip & Dale. (And we drink like Nick & Nora. :rolleyes1)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Oh my gosh, the visual :rotfl:

You can do it! That's terrific incentive! 14 pounds is a good goal for what? 5 months. In my dreams, but I am trying.

I've never done a class, so I don't really know how it compares to that. It's definitely a good workout, though. I was sweating like a fiend doing it. It just didn't seem to do much for me weight-wise. Everyone is different, and a lot of people get great results with Zumba. I may try it again in a couple of weeks. I've read where it's good to do a variety of exercise, so I just may need to mix it up a bit with walking and the heavy bag.

Besides, it really is a lot of fun - much moreso than any other workout I've tried.

ok, point taken, but who the heck are Nick and Nora .... off to google I go :confused3:confused3

DD and I want to get some weight off before our June cruise so that we don't go up a dress size by the end of it :lmao: I was enjoying the zumba class, but then got diagnosced with tennis elbow and couldn't go for ages, just getting full mobility again now. We thought that would help us lose a few pounds if we do it regularly.

I do walk the dogs too for about 2 miles a day, but I think it needs to be a bit more brisk than a stroll

Another thing that doesn't help the weight loss, it's been one hell of a week at work, so now it's wine o'clock, i'm going to open a bottle and have a wee glass :drinking1

OMG how did I not spot you on formal night last year with Tony wearing that, amazing, how brilliant does he look :thumbsup2

Oh it's getting too exciting everyone organising their lovely new frocks and outfits for the cruise, you both look fab :yay:

Over on the cruise board they are organising a candle lighting tribute to Rebecca Coriam, the CM who disappeared from the Wonder 2 weeks ago.

It is all so desperately sad and our hearts go out to those poor parents :sad1:

Oh, that is so sad. I am choking up just thinking about it. Her poor parents and her poor Mum, it's Mother's Day on Sunday and she has just lost her daughter without explanation. I will be lighting a candle on Sunday :sad2:
