Since they have put the Dunkin Donuts in there, I prefer that to Burger King. :)

You need to see the videos from inside the main terminal - that's the one that had $10 million in damage and 75% of the windows blown out.

There was a photo in the newspaper yesterday that showed them removing the rudder of an American Airlines 757 that was damaged by some flying metal with a crane. When I drove by on my way home from work last night, I saw that poor plane sitting outside a maintenance hangar next to the interstate - rudderless, leaving it with only have of the AA logo.

OMG!! Glad to hear you guys are OK. Wow, so much damage. Such a shame.

The hop on/hop off buses worked great for us the one day we used it. We would get off wherever we wanted to tour something. It wasn't too long of a wait for the next bus. We were able to get a general layout of Barcelona and then get off to see La Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Gaudi bldgs, etc. You'll have no problems, or at least we didn't. They give you earplugs so you can plug into the bus and listen to a audio tour as you drive along but the sound quality was "iffy" at best!

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

That's good information - Thanks Debra! :thumbsup2
We also used the T10 tickets. They worked well for us since we were staying in a hotel that was a little farther out from the central city area.

at least if you do, you wont end up somewhere wierd, you'll just end up going round in circles!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Now that's funny! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I did use the hop-on hop-off bus in Barcelona last spring. Barcelona is a city of varied architecture, which becomes evident as you ride. I picked the one that took credit cards; otherwise, I don't think they are much different. I think we used the red bus; there is also an aqua one (that's real techincal, isn't it?)

DH & I used the HOHO bus when we were there last year. Since we have limited Spanish language skills, it was much more comfortable for us. We bought our tickets from the hotel concierge desk for, supposedly, a small discount. It was really easy to navigate on and off which made it nice to jump off and shop when we felt like it. I'd do it again. :thumbsup2

Is the metro hard to use? My hotel is right by a stop, and the metro goes pretty much everywhere I wanted to see, so I was just planning on using that. I even got an app on my iPod tourch that has maps of the metro and is pretty user friendly...I can speak a little spanish, but not a ton. I just don't want to get lost!! :goodvibes

We found it to be very easy to use! :thumbsup2 We got a copy of the route maps and reviewed the map before each excursion, so we knew where we needed to transfer or exit - it worked well! I would recommend using the Metro - we'll be riding on it. :)

Aw I'd love to do the hop on hop off bus in Barcelona. I don't arrive until Friday evening though :( Ah well maybe some other time.....

I went to Monserrat years ago when I was on a school holiday in Spain. We went there from the hotel we were staying in by coach. Wow those roads were steep man :scared1: I'd love to do it again though :)

Lynne, I'm just wondering how you are after all of these crazy storms. It looks like your area took quite a hit! I hope you are safe!

We are just waiting for the storms to reach Atlanta. :headache: Fortunately, it doesn't look as if they will be as severe when they get here, but we'll see.

And for anyone else affected by these storms (Stormapalooza!!!) let us know how you are...I hope everyone is safe & sound. This has been quite a day! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I hope you guys are all okay! We were out all day, and didn't watch any new on television. Saw this mention, checked my Facebook, and noticed our cousin north of Birmingham had been in the closet for a few hours (thankfully she was keeping Facebook updated!). Then I went to CNN and saw. Wow. Hope everything is okay! :grouphug:

Morning all. :goodvibes

I hope everyone with bad weather is staying safe.

Whats the TV like in the US? It is royal wedding crazy here.....when I was in WDW in February they had a daily countdown so I imagine it is crazy there too!

We are going to the F1 race in Montreal this June...really looking forward to it and so glad that Formula 1 returned to Canada :yay:

Lorraine, you are soooo lucky, I would love to see a race. I hope you have an amazing time. I'll be thinking of you when I'm watching it :lmao: Who will you be supporting? :woohoo:

Great tip! We are there a few days, and I have not even started planning that part out. Haven't been to NYC since my undergrad years!

We love NYC, only been once and did it as a treat for my 40th, I can't wait to go back. We have provisionally booked the NYC DCL cruise for next summer.

There are 2 loops on the Manhattan HOHO. Again, plan well because you can't go back on yourself without going round the whole route again :lmao:

We were staying in Times Square and it was great because the HOHO stop was just outside our hotel. We couldn't believe it though, Stevie didn't pay because he was active military, a lovely gesture from the company I thought :)

Have a fantastic time :yay:

Good morning to you too :)

I haven't seen the news much this week, so wasn't aware it was so bad, I hope everyone concerned keeps safe too :)

Claire my friend in New York sent me a message on facebook the other day to say it is absolutely Royal Wedding crazy over there and wondered if it was as bad here :rotfl2:

I  NYC! We did the HOHO bus there too, it was a great way to see everything. How lovely that you didn't have to pay for Stevie, they really know how to look after military folk in the USA. ::yes::

We stayed on Times Square for our first visit, the Renaissance hotel. Then our 2nd trip was for our friends 40th birthday & we stayed at The Plaza by Central Park....we woke up one morning to a view of a snow covered Central Park :cloud9: I can't wait to go back some day.

:rotfl2: It's wedding fever everywhere!!!!! :faint:

I will be watching it on the TV tomorrow but will be glad when it's over & isn't on everything 24/7!!!!

I will be sitting down watching all day tomorrow. Can't wait!!! I hope nothing goes wrong. I worry and I have nothing to do with it!!:rotfl2:

We stayed at the Doubletree, it was such a fantastic location :lovestruc and I fell in love with the place. We saw the Lion King as a birthday treat :cloud9:

Stevie got military discount everywhere and, yes, they do definitely take care of their armed forces in the US :thumbsup2

That's why we booked the NYC cruises for next year, so that we can spend a few days with our friends in Long Island and then see Manhattan as well. We've booked the 8 night bahamian and B2B 5 night to Canada, but will wait and see what discount we can get onboard in June to see if we can get it a bit cheaper. It's about £4.5k just now :scared1: At least I will still get to WDW for a day though :rotfl2: we were going to have a year off next year and stack up our DVC points

I'm working tomorrow, so I'm going to record it on Sky+ and fastforward to the best bits. I am working tomorrow's bank holiday and also Monday to make up the extra lieu days I need to work for deciding to do the WBTA this year, only another 2 to make up after this weekend thank goodness.

I hope everyone behaves tomorrow, it was on the news this morning that some activists were planning a demo :confused3

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Sure is different now that during Vietnam, when my husband was in the military! I think the country as a whole feels a little bit ashamed and guilty over our behavior then (when military members were reviled and spat upon), and has collectively vowed to do things differently.

Might be an interesting morning here in upstate New York. It's dead calm at the moment, but that line of thunderstorms is coming and there are tornado warnings posted all around us.

Hope everyone stayed safe last night!

Happy Day, All!

I know what you mean, I feel like that too. I hope that the protesters stay away. :headache:

Hopefully the sun will shine too, although that's not looking likely. :guilty:

I saw Lion King in London, loved it. :thumbsup2 I can't remember what we saw on broadway (it was the birthday boys choice) but it was rubbish & we all fell asleep. :lmao: I will definately what something on Broadway next time we go. :thumbsup2

I will be watching as much as I can tomorrow but will be sky+ the rest as Lee wants to get the wallpapering done in the kitchen before our visitors arrive on Saturday for the weekend.

It's Royal Wedding fever here in Canada too. We have a General Election here on Monday and the media is saying that today is the last day of campaigning before the wedding takes over the airwaves...

I've managed to avoid most of the build up to the event by not switching on the TV, but will probably be up in the early hours tomorrow to watch some of the coverage before heading to work. :)

I'm getting up at 4 a.m. to watch the wedding! I don't have to go to work til 4 in the afternoon, so I get to watch as much as I want. Though I'm thinking I may need an afternoon nap before work. :faint:

I'm anxious to see the dress, and of course, everyone's hats! I love hats. :goodvibes

We haven't heard anything about protesters here. What are they protesting? Didn't realize there was anything particularly controversial about this. :confused3

We are setting our alarm to get up to watch the wedding it will be 2 am here... I know I will definately need a nap or alot of coffee.:goodvibes

I will be taping the royal wedding on my dvr. Then I can watch (or rewatch the good parts!) over the week-end. I'll be interested in seeing what her dress is like....should be pretty because she seems to have a style of her own which I like.

Hope everyone has survived the horrible weather we've been having ok. It's amazing how many tornedoes and storms we've been having recently. I feel for the people who have really been hit hard with all this storm damage and it just seems to keep coming! Hopefully this will be it for quite a while! We've had tornedo warnings earlier this morning, but now it's just being predicted that we will get some rain and wind. It's actually getting dark here so the rain must not be far behind!

Hope everyone has a wonderfully sunny week-end with lots of daydream visions of our up and coming cruise fun! :thumbsup2

They are not protesting about the wedding Pat, it's about middle eastern religious causes and they are just holding their protest tomorrow to be difficult
