we cant book our excursions till 27th june, really hope the ones we have picked are not sold out, well done to all who have got there's today

Hi everyone,

We just returned this week from a cruise on the *other* Magic, the Carnival Magic. It was a wonderful cruise and made us even more excited about this one!

Absolutely cannot wait to get on this ship and see all of your smiling faces :goodvibes

How was it. Reviews seem good and I know the CD John Heald is hilliarious at least on his blog I read daily.....

First up; Lee congrats on the job!

When is Taryns flight and is she supposed to start her CP? If my memory serves me right it's next week or something???

Mandy, did I read it right in scrolling that you've got the JvD excursion about booked full? Good job, hun! :thumbsup2:hug:

Burnice, is it just me or haven't I seen you on here for a long time? How are things down there?

Sounds very promising to hear so many reports about all the open Palo spots. Def. sounds like a very different experience than those in the first possible bookingslot had. :thumbsup2

For those that have joined us; as can be read on the first page one of the many activities we've got going on during this cruise is a candyswap. For more details see page one. Signing up can be done by sending me a PM. Any postings on this thread, the facebook or website unfortunately can not be used as an official signing up as they can be missed too easily and I wouldn't want anybody dissapointed.

Hopefully you guys wont mind and if you do; use google translate (also gives great funny results for when needing a laugh, by the way). It's just a bit silly not using our own language in this situation.

Liesbeth; vliegen jullie op zaterdag naar Barca of al eerder? Indien het vrijdag is, moeten we wellicht via pm eens de vluchtgegevens vergelijken, zul je net zien dat we op dezelfde vlucht zitten. ;)

And since this was already mentioned to others by Liesbeth in english; if that's the family you mean than yeah we know about Manon and family, she's been on here before.

I've been kinda in hiding, not been on the DIS for quite some time. Got a couple of PM's from some of you guys I still need to answer (and read :flower3::eek:), fingers crossed I'll sit down for that tomorrow. I've been MIA after finding out some not peachy facts. I almost had to cancel the whole trip. For now it seems back on, but there are way too many ????? if you ask me. I'm hoping to get some more info on thuesday but knowing the unlimited bureaucracy with some parts of our healthcare providers, I'm more or less expecting to get no real info and being left in the dark for longer. Argh, hate these things. Anyhow, just couldn't bring myself to spent time on here and rub salt into the wound so to say.

Apart from that I've been spending some time trying to update my wardrobe. Or better said; get myself a wardrobe. If one or 2 items still fit me, that would be a lot. I realised I really need a new wardrobe, but it's become hard work. Loosing all of the weight has left me with a body and shape I'm totally unfamiliar with and thus have no idea how to dress. Combine that with some other reasons that result in me not being able to wear many clothestypes and -styles and I'm kinda totally lost here. I SO need my own personal Stacy and Clinton. I'm desperate enough I might just sign me up for one of their episodes and gladly forgo of a week of WDW for that. But first things first; we're working hard in getting something back into that closet. Can't force you guys to see me in the same outfit all 14 days of our cruise. Allthough.......... it would make for some light clothes packing.:rotfl2:

OK, someone needs to take away my DCL login information. Just booked B2B cruises on the Dream in January. :rolleyes1 Is there a 12-step program for Disney cruisers?

Hello,
My son is a little bit older. He is already 24 and I am 56 years old. We are both disney fans. We are going to Disneyland Paris since 1994 and have the last years an passeport annuel. Now we are going with our first cruise and then the first time tot WDW.
I know there is a Dutch/Belgium familie with a child of about 3 years old.

LOL! That is quite a bit older!! I hope I'm still cruising with my kids when they are that age!

I'm 27 and we now take our parents on the cruises... so maybe you can convince your kids that's how it should be :rotfl: instead of you taking them.

Question that I hope has not already been asked and answered:

In 2008 we did the WBTA on the Magic and there were plenty of Palo reservations even on the day you inquired on board. The ship had roughly 2700 people I think, please don't hold me to that.

In reading all the posts on booking Palo, plenty of reservations it has me curious. I was not going to pre-book dinner as we are a little more go with the flow, see how are table mates are, etc. Has anyone been consistantly unable to book in Palo for dinner once on board?

I am curious if the cruise will be more full or have things changed in the last few years?

Thanks for any and all input. Counting down the days!

Our dtr is almost 27 and loves cruising with us; she also wants us all to go to WDW post-cruise. We used to go every other year, but haven't been since she graduated high-school (and marched down the parade route/Main Street with her high-school band). I'm sure we will embarrass her at some point on this trip, but she's used to that by now! :goodvibes She still thinks we're fun to hang with...as long as I don't nag her to clean her apt. or give us grandchildren:rotfl2::lmao::thumbsup2!

Thanks both for the dieting advice and the motivation. I am managing to stick to my weight watchers points allowance this week and am snacking on fruit and rice cakes. I also really like weight watchers citrus yogurt, so all of that helps. I am looking forward to the challenge of eating ( fairly ) healthy in WDW, although there will be treats I will be avoiding unecessary things such as fries with everything ( I eat them just because they are there ... don't really like fries ) and bread. Instead I will be looking out for salad as a main meal side, and saving my calories for treats which I really want. If I can drop 7lbs before I go to WDW and then restart properly as soon as i get back I might hit that 14lb loss target for the cruise. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you have everything under control :woohoo:. I wish I only had 14 lbs to lose :confused3, but I know it's even harder sometimes to lose those last few lbs. I, too, ask for a salad or veggie as a side, instead of fries, and decline the bread...because if it's in front of me, it's pretty difficult to ignore. Especially if I'm hungry! :sad2: Thankfully, a lot of restaurants are offering alternative sides and whole-grain or whole-wheat buns, wraps, etc., which makes eating out so much easier.

[Burnice, is it just me or haven't I seen you on here for a long time? How are things down there?]

Hi Jacqueline, have been lurking in the background and enjoying reading all the comments.

Dad has finally changed his mind about hiring scooter or wheelchair whilst in the parks, his idea of fun is for me to be pushing him and Mum (sitting on his lap) around in a wheelchair, he reckons it will be the best way for me to loose weight and get fit. He loves the idea of the Mojitos & Mixology tasting's and then back to the Stateroom for an afternoon nap, looks like they are going to be a handful on the holiday.

He was telling me last night he was on the last convoy (WWII) to past the Straites of Gibraltor going home to England and somewhere in the house is the Plaque he received as a momento. Still learning about his life in the Forces after all this time.

Sorry to hear you are having health issues, wish I could do something to help you.:grouphug: PM me if you want to vent, happy to listen.

Burnice

Nope but there should be. :rotfl2: Congrats on the B2B booking. :thumbsup2

Hi Burnice, glad to hear your dad has changed his mind about the wheelchair. How lovely that they are making plans for the cruise, sounds like you are going to have your work cut out keeping track of them.

For those of you who have done B2B cruises, do you need to tell DCL you are doing it or do they automatically know because the system recognizes the Castaway Club number?

They will know. We loved our B2B and would so like to do one again.

There was no problem at all last year. I think you could book one throughout the cruise.

Jacqueline - sorry to hear about your health issues.

Burnice - Your dad sounds as though he has some great stories to tell. I know my DH would be very interested in hearing all about WWII.

I'm 27 and we now take our parents on the cruises... so maybe you can convince your kids that's how it should be :rotfl: instead of you taking them.

Lauren, that's lovely:goodvibes I wish I could convince my DD's to do that for us.

So sorry to hear about your health issues ... there is nothing worse in the approach to a vacation. Hope you can get it sorted out as soon as possible.

Taryn flies to Orlando on 19th June ... expect a lot of weeping and wailing on here as I will be so anxious. First time she has left the country / flown without us.

I can only imagine how you will all be feeling Sarah ....but what a brilliant time she'll hopefully have :)

That sounds like us.... I have not been to WDW since high school band (although we didn't march the parade - just performed in a nearby concert contest). Hubby has never been to WDW (only DL in CA). The port in Barcelona will be the first time our daughters will have ever seen any of the characters in person!

He was telling me last night he was on the last convoy (WWII) to past the Straites of Gibraltor going home to England and somewhere in the house is the Plaque he received as a momento. Still learning about his life in the Forces after all this time.

When we have sailed on Holland America and attended afternoon tea, hubby has spent much time listening to WWII stories from the veterans onboard. Glad your dad is still telling his stories!! :thumbsup2

Hi Jacqueline, sorry to hear you are having problems, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Same here, Jacqueline. I know chronic medical things totally suck.

Oh, my, Sarah! I would be a ball of nerves!! Of course, when we board the flights now (open seating), our 4 year old tells us she wants to sit all by herself on her own row... little miss independent.... and I just won't let her do that yet (even if it is the row in front or behind us on a wide-open flight!).
