HOTOMIKY--We will be on deck 9 as well!!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!!!!!

Well, seeing that yesterday was Halloween we went out today to buy our pirate attire for the Pirate Night.... I hope people dress up for the occasion.....I am having a hard time talking my 13 year old into it pirate:

I have a 113 year old boy so not sure he will dress up either. He did the last cruise tow years ago. I bet it will depend a lot on what the Edge does.

We will be dressing every night... one night might be jeans and Mickey Mouse Club T shirt... for pics only.

Ann:rolleyes1

We have made many trips to WDW but never cruised.
I am very excited about September.

Im not sure which Disney person hit me this morning???...:rolleyes1

DH and I were talking this morning, we decited to give up one week of our B2B... to our DD and DSIL.
We cancelled 1Sept with all of you and added them to our last week.

We are going to pixie dust the 2 of them tonight. We are doing a DVD to tell them... with a bunch of pics we took with them from 2007.

Last year DD lost her job and was recently trained as a dog groomer(she loves it) but it still is a big struggle for them.

So why not give them our cruise???
I hope it a good surprise.

I am taking my kids out of school too. I have a 9 yr old girl and 15 yr old son. We did a Disney cruise the first week of sep in 2007 and we loved it. We are from Virginia.

Good to meet you. This will be my family's 2nd cruise. My husband and I will have our three kids with us, (14 son, 9 daughter, 4 son). We are staying on deck 6 in a family stateroom.

my family and I are also going on this cruise. This will be our 2, our 1st being a 7 day eastern carribean in 2007. I have 3 kids, 15 son, 9 daughter, 4 son. I just found out I was pregnant with 4 year old right before our last cruise, so I'm excited to do this not pregnant. We really want to do the fish thing too. If you can't tell I'm new at this boards and threads things. Lol

Welcome to the cruise....
we did sept 2007 cruise too. It was a blast.
The welcome back:cool1:

Welcome- Looks like we have children of similar ages.. My husband and I grew up in VA. What part of VA are you from? We grew up in SW part...

On our cruise will be me, DH, DS-14, DD-9 (will be 9 at time of sailing).

We are from Stafford, VA about an hour south of DC. My daughter will be turning 9 in April and my son 15 in June. What are the abbreviation DH, DS, DD is that for Husband, son and daughter. I am not used to doing online chat groups, if you can't tell.

We cruised in September of 2007 and didn't have any problems. We went on a 7 night disney eastern Carribean cruise.

We lived in Roanoke, about 20-25 minutes from VA Tech. Anyhow, you got it--DH-Husband
DS-Son
DD-Daughter

Daughter turns 9 in August
Son turns 14 in March

So they will both be in the same clubs;-)

What excursions do you think you guys will be doing?

oh yeah, FE thing. Not quite sure how it all works but from what I gather anyone wanting to exchange small gifts, candy etc. do so. A list will be generated and I assume on the list will have ages/gender. Please note - I have never done this before and it will be our first time :thumbsup2

I do believe somewhere on the forums they talk in more depth about FE. Hope that helps!

Very good discription!

Our last cruise there were just under 400 of us. We broke it down to groups of 15 cabins per "group". Since we had several ports, some of us picked up gifts at each port.Saved on shipping and luggage weight!!!

We also did a post card exchange(from our home town, state)
A candy swap... oh sooooo yummy.
A first aide kit ... we listed what we brought for ourselves just in case someone needed besides us. (Very nice list)
And we swapped scrap booking items.
We also had a jewlery classes.
Guys had a beer day while the ladies did Palo tea.
And we did our own lanyards and logs. A pin designed, matching TA tshirts ... and a Mickey Mouse Club Night.
And YES... we were busy and had tons of fun.

So there is lots to do as a group or do as little as you want : Remember... it's Your cruise... your way. :thumbsup2

Sorry,

Didn't realize that you don't get updates when someone replies to your post. I am used to FB. We are thinking of going on one of the snorkel trips in the Grand Cayman as they say it is the best with the Coral Reefs. In Cozemel and Costa Maya we will probably visit one of the ruins, my husband is a huge history channel buff. Castaway Cay will probably be low key (family beach), I was thinking of the teen excursion for my son, but I am worried about him not knowing anyone. I am so glad to have met someone else with a teenager. I am not worried much about my nine year old, but you know how teenagers can be. I would like to exchange info if you don't mind, as that are kids would probably do good to hang out, and it would be nice to have another "mom" and "dad" on the ship. lOL
