Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

Hi all! Just wanted to ask if any cruisers have used the nursery on board before and how was your experience with that? I have an 18 month old that we want to leave there during the brunch, but I have never left him with anyone other than his grandma before so I a little nervous :scared:.

The last time we went to DW it was with make a wish. We couldn't do dining reservations and honestly it was fine with us. The worst was lunch trying to find a place to eat that wasn't crowded. We aren't doing character meals and have the 1 quick and 1 full service dining plan. Any suggestions for places to eat for lunch? We usually ate dinner off park on the last trip but with the dining plan we're staying this time. I don't want to leave the park and come back at dinner but wouldn't mind going to another Disney place for lunch.

Do you already have your table service meals planned out?

Our quick service lunches in each park are:
Magic Kingdom- We love Columbia Harbor House. Good food and there is a lot of seating in a cool place which is nice.
Epcot- usually mix it up in the World Showcase. Kids and DH get American and I get Chinese or Mexican usually.
Animal- Flame Tree BBQ or the quick service yak and yeti
Hollywood- We never eat Quick service here. There aren't a lot of options and the ones there are we don't like. We usually do a table service around 3 and then large snacks later. Always a PBJ milkshake from the bar at 50's. YUMMY!

I really like the quick service ahhh they serve pizza and its attached to "its a small world" ride you can get a window seat overlooking the ride. Very large inside to cool off. I don't know why I want to call it Pinocchio village?????

Yes several times and I/kids absolutely loved it!

Speaking of GTY, anyone know how long it takes to get a room #?? I've heard it can take as long as just a few weeks before sailing ?!?! :sad2:
This is our first time doing GTY but we really like the cat 4E and 5E rooms. I know most people don't, they can be a tad noisy depending on which one you actually get. But DH really enjoys the bigger verandah so we book them every sailing if available. And we've been very happy in them for the most part.
With that said, I almost vetoed it when we booked on board and the guy said it would be a GTY. I was like, "oh no! What if we miss out on FE because they can't find us!!!"
You can clearly see where my priorities are..... DH was not amused. :confused3

:rotfl2:

I added a post for you in regards to GTY rooms :) Hope it helps :)

We always enjoyed Peco Bills, Over in Frontierland by the Country Bear Jamboree :) Just love the fixins bar for the burgers :) so yummy.

Can anyone else relate??

GEEZ I've missed so much! Sorry I've been slacking on the boards....I feel like I'm going a mile a minute lately! I need a mini vacation before the real vacation...wait a minute I just had a mini vacation last week LOL well if you call running around doing errands, dress rehearsals, and recitals a vacation that is =) OK so it looks like the FE list are divided up. I will start them next week (see I told you I'm slacking) Question is it to late to remove my mil from the FE? She is sharing a room with my nephew but decided she couldn't participate. I will do her list if she can't be removed.

I can't wait until Wednesday to book excursions!!! I'm off of school and all I've done is started planning a third trip!! Terry is gonna kill me, lol!! Now I have one in September, February, and June!!! I keep trying to make changes to everything I have planned for September, too!!

No we haven't planned any meals yet I thought the reservations were just for the meals with characters. I know we want to hit BOG but most likely just to get the gray stuff as a snack. Do you know when they close? The kids didn't like the food options.

I thought I was bad, I've got trips planned for September, Food and Wine in October, and Dispalozza (sp) in December. Some many trips so little time!

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but at this point the likely hood of you getting into BoG for dinner is slim to none. If you don't have a reservation you won't even be allowed inside the castle. It's not a place you can walk up to and order a snack or dessert. At WDW every table service meal needs to be reserved, not just the character meals. I would get on that as soon as possible!!

Not planning on dinner at BOG. We didn't love it but we were told we could come in during lunch hours and get the gray stuff. We would still wait in line just like everyone else for lunch but only order the cupcake.

-update-
That was s nightmare! When I booked it they didn't tell me I had to have reservations for the table service. There aren't a ton of choices at WDW for table service anyway. I think I got it, one is earlier then I want and another means back tracking.
I wish I could trade some of my table service for quick service but I'm sure the breaks will be nice.

There are tons of table service restaurants!!! The problem is that the 180 mark to book was back in March so everything is full. Also, just so you know, some of the best restaurants are at the resorts. If you are at MK you can go out eat at Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, and Grand
Floridian and then come back into the MK (to get to these it's just a fun monorail ride or a relaxing boat ride). Epcot or Hollywood Studios you can easily walk or boat to the Beach Club, and Boardwalk. Your age kids would probably love Whispering Canyon. You could even do the dinner show Hoop Dee Doo, it is 2 credits on the dining plan though; however, my whole family loves it!

What are the days you are going to be at WDW at which parks are you going to? I would keep checking to try and adjust times and restaurants because things do open up. I check almost daily for a better time for Beaches and Cream. I decided just last month to book it and the only time was 3:20. I wanted about 2 so I'm hoping it opens up. At 180 the latest I could get my Rose and Crown reservation was 7:10. I like them as close to 7:30 as possible for viewing Illuminations. It's kind of hard to get one around there once their gone, but a 7:25 opened up.

Where is everyone at!!!! While I'm in school the group jumps five pages in a day, lol!! Now that I have a break, no one is here :(

I customized our bands as soon as I booked. I can't wait until they ahow up in the mail.......I am sure I will be xhecking the mailbox 5 times a day once I see that they have been shipped :rolleyes1

You are all so lucky! They don't mail out the bands to Canadian Guests. We have to pick them up at the resort!

Just got home from seeing Tomorrowland, which by the way is excellent, first thing I do is get online to check resort availability. My wait list came through!!! I think it's meant to be :) I now have a reservation for February 6-13 in a value studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge for my birthday!!!party:
