Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

I have a DOTD question that I also posted on another site but I thought I'd ask here too.

Can someone explain the different options?

Is it a regular non refillable glass for some amount of money or a refillable glass for more money? What if you don't want to carry around the glass? Can you get any drink in that glass then at a discount for the rest of the cruise? I'm so confused. :confused3:confused3:confused3

This is probably reeaalllyy silly, but ever since you guys have mentioned Tonga Toast I have been dying to try it. The only problem is that we got the dining plan (free!! whoop! whoop! :woohoo:), and Kona Cafe is a table service credit :scared:. I just can't see using the credit at a non-character breakfast, and I REFUSE to buy food when we have free food allotted (I'm just thrifty like that :smokin:). I just found out that Capt. Cook's at the Polynesian ALSO sells Tonga Toast at breakfast and it is only a quick service credit!! :dogdance: Of course the atmosphere won't be as good as Kona, but at least I will get some Tonga Toast in my belly!! :stir::stir::stir:

You go Amber!!! That's determination!!

I wonder if it's the same? We are booked at Kona in the morning of the cruise and I intend to have that. We cancelled our dining plan (not free) so it doesn't really matter.

I would think the experience at Kona would be worth the credits personally....

The blog that I read said it was the same. It is a'la carte , though and doesn't come with any bacon, sausage, or ham like at Kona. Totally fine with me, because I am just wanting the toast, LOL!!
I have our table service dinners mapped out PERFECTLY, so I couldn't trade out for Kona without messing up the whole thing. Man, I am excited!!

Only 4 days until Cruise check in, and 14 days until resort check in!!! :dance3:

Good question! I hope someone knows and can answer it. I plan on one DOTD every day, but I won't need 4 glasses....

Awesome find!

Amber - when you say resort check in can you elaborate? Our final payment on our resort isn't due until July (we're going a bit later than you), what does resort check in entail?

I understand there is a walking path around CC? Is that true? Does anyone know how long it is? Is it worth the walk? Can you take the little shuttle to all the points of interest on the island? Now you got me thinking Andrea about what to do. We will do lounging on the beach at Serenity Bay and have lunch for sure, but then should we do a bike ride or a walk? Take a shuttle? Thoughts?
Your doing the 5K with us right? That's a great way to see the island :flower1:

My final payment date for Disney is July 19th. However, when I am logged onto My Disney Experience to review my reservations it says my online check in for Coronado Springs is available in 15 days (I don't know why I put 14...) I am not exactly sure what all it entails....but it is the same day that I can make our fast pass selections.

Ok, so there is a new DOTD everyday. You have several options:

1. Buy the DOTD in a disposable cup ($5 - let's say 12 oz)
2. Buy the DOTD in a souvenir cup ($10 - let's say 16 oz)
3. Bring your souvenir DOTD cup to the bartender for a refill ($5 - 16oz)

You don't have to buy a new souvenir cup each time unless you want to. You can wash it out in your room or flirt with the bartender and ask them to wash it. You get more booze for less money if you bring your DOTD cup back each time. I plan to buy 1 or 2 souvenir cups and reuse them all week.

My prices and oz's are a guess. I just know you get more in the souvenir cup.

make sense?

Thanks Misty! It does make sense. So if I don't care about the cup as a souvenir or don't care about "more for less money" and want to either a) only have 1 DOTD a day or b) have many different drinks each day, I may as well just do the regular cup! Thank you that is what I wanted to figure out.

I looked up the online check in on the Disney World site, and it doesn't say much about it. Just that it starts 60 days before arrival, and when you get there go to the online check i desk to pick up tour welcome packet and key to the world card (we will have magic bands, though).

Ah ok, well I'll be sure to pay by then (mine's July 14) and be ready for that check in too! Thank you!

I don't know if DVC is different or not?? Maybe Amanda can pipe in on this one too. Online check in I think you can also remind them of your room request etc... They will text your phone when your room is ready no need to hurry in and check in. I think now you don't have to go to the lobby that your welcome packet will be in your room. That's what I last heard but that could be for DVC members too.

On the staterooms what does GTY stand for? I feel like i read it somewhere, but i can remember.

We're in the same list so I bet you're asking about us :) We have actually had a room assignment since booking but I'm one of those paranoid people that hates putting info out there-that would also be why my avatar is a photo from the back ;) I'll probably private message everyone our cabin number. I guess I could do that soon since the list is final!

Watch for my family over at the Poly. We are staying there pre cruise :) Can't wait!! When are you guys planning to eat there? We will keep our eyes open. We have Ohana dinner 9/5 at 6:30 and Kona cafe 9/7 at 8:30 am. I'm usually not out and about at that time, but I read that bell services pick up bags going to port at 8 am sharp.

There will be lots of leisure on our "run"!!

What's the 5K run I'm just getting into running and that sound like it might be fun What's the time and do you know if there is an option for the kids to participate or be in like the kids club (on the ship) but on the island

On line check in is basically what Joe said. Different resorts have different requests you can make. Requests are just that "requests", not guarantees!!! Like top floor, 1st floor. near elevator. My request is tope floor for my Poly Lake view studio. You can also put any celebrations on your reservation. Then you can also hook your credit card to your account and set a PIN code for it. It is supposed to speed up your check in when you arrive (I don't think it really does).

Also those who are staying at Disney resorts pre or post cruise, you will want to customize your Magic bands. You can pick the color and then pick the name on it. The name doesn't have to be your real name, it has nothing to do with your actual account. The name is just a label on the band. We all use our nicknames. (Sunshine, Booger, Babsy and Goofy) To customize the bands log in on the WDW site and hover over My Disney Experience in the upper right corner of the screen. When the menu drops down click on Magic bands.
