Did anyone do prepaid gratuities? I did because I didn't want to get hit with a big payment at the end of the cruise. Are you expected to pay more for great service? I paid whatever DCL had us pay something like $244 I think. Now I'm wondering if it's truly enough. I guess I'll also have to pay concierge hosts in addition to that. I just really have no idea.

I'm going to pay mine in advance too. If I understand it correctly, you can pay more on board. They give envelopes that you can put money into, or I believe you can pay more at guest services. I think this is right. but can someone else verify please!

For those of you with girls in the 11 year age range, are you signing them up for Edge or Oceaneers Club? I know Carly would like to go to Edge, but I think she would also like some of the activities in the club. Can we sign them up for both, and then they can decide according to the navigator?

I plan on pre paying also. My feeling is if the service you get is deserving of more then you have that option. The one I don't like is at WDW the automatic 18% on sit down meals. When your talking a family of 7 and a bill around $250 for $50 tip my drink glass should and never be empty.

I'm kind of thinking that the 2 clubs are connected somehow. I know my Kaylei wants to do the same as Carly both clubs.

I agree! That's the only reason I don't like the TiW card.

I did prepaid gratuities too. I will set aside some $ for concierge hosts and other services that I feel deserve more that the pre-paid gratuities. Usually housekeeping goes above and beyond cleaning up our room :)

I hope she can do both. I'm guessing she'll prefer edge and her brother will be in edge- actually he should be able to do both as well- I want them to be able to choose. This is our only cruise where they both meet the age limits for both places.

What is your room #? I'm in 12506.

You may have mentioned and I missed it. How's the classes going?

Thanks for asking! I'm doing an online program, with the University of Louisiana Lafayette, for my bachelors degree. The classes are 7 week sessions so I'm mid way through this group. The current ones are gen ed classes that I need to get out of the way, Theatre and Eng Lit. Neither class is very hard, but both are very time consuming. All I do lately is work and homework. It helps that the literature class is all about detective fiction, so it's actually kind of fun. One thing about online classes, I always have "Voldemort" and Disboards open in a second window, so I can take a quick easy break to read some comments :)

I did use The Festival of the Lion King as one of my writing topics for theatre :)

That's Good to hear!! I remember you coming on and saying that you need to get back studying. My hat is off to you doing both right now it takes a lot of discipline on your part. Keep up the good work and soon the ocean breeze will be messing up your hair. LOL

I got an out of the blue cruise reservation confirmation email this morning, even though I have been booked for almost a year and paid in full since January or so. I was looking it over, and under my payments it said I was owed a refund. Did anyone else get this, too? The prices are WAY higher now than what I paid at booking, and there are none of my category available so I am totally confused as to why........although I am NOT complaining!
I got one as well not sure what that is about

Hello everyone! Finally got time to catch up on everything. Glad to see so many new faces! Got travel arrangements finally done. Will be taking the train to my folks, NY to Hamlet, NC. 12 long hours or riding, but the train is 5 minutes from their house and much better than the 2 hour drive to the airport. Get there Thursday night and leaving Friday morning for Disney! Three fun days at Kidani Village and then board the ship on Monday! I've got my FE ideas in my head now hoping I can make it happen. Can't wait for this trip. Take care all!

Emmalee might want to do both once she makes friends but both brothers would be in Oceaneers Club so that might draw her in there more often til she meets everyone.

Do you guys have early or late dinning?

Counting the days until this trip. Already telling the job I will not be contacted, phones and computers will be off and left home. How are you doing with all of that rain in Texas?
