we are going in january and i was just wondering.
everyone knows about the typical t-shirts, hats, toys, etc... but what souveniers can be found at disney world that have some special meaning to you.

I posted this somewhere else too :)
I think that for me it's the pearls that you can get in DTD (other places too but that one in partucular) because DH always sneaks off to get me one. Just a pearl. :)

Mine is the charm bracelet I've made from the little stands you find in almost every shop. I have charms from all the parks and from the resorts where we've stayed. I also bought charms to symbolize fun things we've done, or favorite things about WDW. For instance, I have a Jiminy Cricket charm to represent Wishes (which I adore!), a Morocco Mickey head because it's my favorite Epcot pavillion, a Cinderella charm for our breakfast at CRT, and I immediately purchased a Snow White charm after DD got to help her open the Princess room in Toontown. I love wearing it because it reminds me of Disney every time I look at it!

I will always treasure the Christmas ornaments we picked out for each child on our first ever trip. The first ones I put on the tree.

Did you buy the bracelet at Disney? If so, what store and how much? I have been wanting to start a charm bracelet, but I couldn't decide if I wanted the Italian charms or a tradional one.

Yes, they have little kiosks set up in most all of the stores with the bracelets and the charms. They're not "good" jewelry, the bracelets are not sterling silver and only cost about $15.00, and the charms are just enamel and are $4 each. But, that's why I like it; it's a great souvenier without being terribly expensive. I think you can buy sterling bracelets and charms at Disney, but I'm not sure where or how much.

My silver Mickey Mouse watch that DH secretly bought me while we were at MGM. Everytime I put it on I think of WDW. Also, this one is sort of silly, but I have a plastic hat pin of the American flag that they were giving out at the entrance of MK when we visited a few years ago on the 4th of July. I keep it in my curio cabinet, just as a sentimental reminder of when we celebrated Independence Day at WDW.

i love the bracelet idea. i have also heard about a silloutte/shadow picture of the kids that can be obtained on Main Street. anyone know about this? :confused3

When I went to Disneyland Paris, my grandfather gave me some money to "get me something nice." I used it to buy a Disneyland Paris statue. It sits in my room and everytime I see it, it makes me smile! That piece means the most to me.

I have two girls ages 3 & 6. The two things for them are Disney beach towels and minnie mouse head bands. The head band just has a small minnie mouse so they wear them out and about at home.

I always buy several snowglobes to add to my collection. I have a large wall in our family room with lots of shelves filled with them. I also buy a Xmas ornament.

Mine was a Sillhouette of my profile the a man cut out with scissors, in a shop on Main Street. I don't remember the name of the shop. Not even sure if it's still there, being that it was made for me in 1982.

Me and DD7 went on a solo trip to WDW in September and she had some spending money.. She knows I LOVE Tinkerbell and I also collect snowglobes from WDW.. She asked me to go a few aisles over for a minute.. she went and grabbed a small Tink snowglobe and bought it for me with her own money!!! That one globe means so much to me.. she is such a sweet little girl.. she could have used that money for anything since it was hers and she chose to get me something.. Of course I ended up buying extra stuff for her in the end.. :teeth:

For Christmas, my DS gave me Cinderella's castle with all the main characters in front of it. It's sitting on my computer desk where I can see it every day. I don't know how many times I glance at it and smile because it brings back wonderful memories and I know my DS had that in mind when he got it for me. :goodvibes

My DH and I bought plates with all four parks on them when we were at Disney World this past Feb. on our honeymoon. Anytime we have a "special meal or dessert" we eat on them.

I also have a drawing on Kronk that we got from the villians shop at MGM. I love it. My Dh and I wanted to get it on trip in February but we decided not to. So when we went back in July, I made sure to get it. "The Emporer's New Groove" is one of our fave movies.

I've had both of my boys' silhouettes done while at WDW. My oldest son's was done somewhere in Frontierland if I recall correctly while we had my youngest son's done (a couple of years later) in DTD. I had them framed there (plastic frames but they do look nice, they matted them as well) and they hang in my foyer. They're one of my favorite souvenirs.

I also have a watch that my DH (back when he was just my DBF) bought for me in the MK. He took me into the store and told me to pick out my favorite. I still wear it and that was fifteen years ago.

My DH surprised me with the wooden cutout of the WL. It was the first resort that we stayed in. He gave it to me as a Christmas present 2 weeks after we got home.
