Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

So glad to hear that Chelsea is ok.
The devastation is horrible. Saying lots of prayers for all of those effected.

I watched the Royal Wedding as well. Kate looked stunning. Loved the Sara Burton dress. A exhibit of Alexander McQueen's work opens at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4th. I definitely will stop in.
And I was pleased to see David Beckham as well. ;)

I hope you're having a relaxing weekend!

Hey CP! I am just plugging along here, trying to get back on track with my TRs! I liked your wedding day fun! Great treats! I saw snippets along the way, and listened to it as I was driving in to work.

Glad to hear you all were safe at your house, and I also am totally in awe about the destruction that has plowed through the south the past week... wild seeing those houses flattened.

I don't know a lot about scoliosis but seems like the news on Chelsea's scoliosis isn't too bad.

Glad to hear that you and your family made it through the storm without a lot of damage, safe and sound.:thumbsup2

I didn't get a chance to watch the royal wedding but when I woke up and saw it all over the headlines, I thought of you.

Definitely thought of you when I saw all the royal wedding highlights last night. I love that you had the petit fours!

The aftermath of the storm is SO sad. I can't even imagine trying to clean up after all that, or being stuck in a basement with no way of knowing what's even going on. Hoping for a boring, normal week for you!

Oh my goodness Jackie, your week!
So relieved for your news on Chelsea. Bikini over the brace would have been a tad awkward.

We were very relieved, too.

I heard on the Barbara Walter's special last night that they will have "help" at their home in Wales, but not very much. So many conflicting reports.
I just can't imagine that they won't.

I think they will have security somewhere nearby, and I can see them thinking being on their own is "jolly good fun." My prediction is it will all change with the arrival of the first baby. Then, we will see them have help...;)

I can't believe you only have three weeks left of school. What's the date of your last day? We have a half day on the 26th and then we work until 3:25.

Wishing you a relaxing week my friend....

May 20th is the last day with students. Coincidentally, it is also the day the new POTC movie comes out. I have a feeling I know how my family will be celebrating. :goodvibes

Wow, you've had a lot going on.

I'm happy to hear everything is okay with Chelsea healthwise and that they'll be keeping an eye on things for the future.

Thanks, TK!

I can't believe some of the devastation from the storms down your way. It makes me so sad for the people who have been affected.

It is just heartbreaking.

I thought of you when I watched the royal wedding. I didn't get to see all of it, but I watched Kate walk down the aisle and saw both their kisses on the balcony. Very sweet. I thought she looked stunning, and I felt a lot of romanticism and fairy tale quality to watching that wedding. Just beautiful!

It was everything we had hoped the wedding would be!

Glad to hear Chelsea's appointment turned out ok. If she ever has to get a brace and needs someone to talk to about it let me know. I wore one from the time I was 8 until I turned 18. I don't remember what degree my curve is, but I know when I looked at the x-ray's my spine looks a lot like an S. Since she is almost done growing, I bet she will luck out and not have to wear one.

Thanks! I hope she won't have to wear one. It was a bit shocking to see those x-rays the first time. Chelsea said, "My spine looks like a roller coaster!"
The damage in those storm pictures were just devastating!

I didn't watch much of the wedding, but I did have it on as I was getting dressed for school. So sweet! I just had to contend with DH making snide comments the whole time! :headache:

Charles watched the whole thing with me, and I was surprised he didn't make any comments. In fact, at one point, he shussed me so he could hear what they were saying.

Glad everyone is OK in your house!

Thank you, Heidi! We were very fortunate. The next day my dad called and said, "You know you are very lucky, don't you?" I don't think we knew until we saw the path of the tornado just how lucky we had really been.

LOL again!!
I was up early with the dog and the girls watching too. :bride: It was really nice to see something fun and happy and romantic. I couldn't help tearing up when some commentator commmented (duh) about seeing Harry and William getting to the church and their mother not being there. That made me sad. But it was such a contrast to their mother's wedding. Here I could see the happiness in both of their faces. It sure wasn't like that at Charles and Di's wedding.

I hope next week goes smoothly, you find great shoes for Chelsea and she has an awesome time at the dance. Is this a "date" thing, or does just everyone go?

Thanks, Sheree! I have cried a lot watching the storm coverage, and I teared up a few times while watching the wedding. I was pretty much a big weepy mess for two day straights while watching any coverage.

We found shoes yesterday for Chelsea. We had to spend a little more than I wanted, but she was insistent that she wanted to wear heels and not flats. It is a date thing for some people, but Chelsea and her friends have just decided to go as a big group.

I'm so glad that your family is safe Jackie! We don't have a basement either so have to go to my mom's when we have tornado warnings. It sure is scary. I bet you're glad that's over!

Thank you! When those tornado sirens start going, it always makes me sick to my stomach. Worst sound in the world.

Good news on Chelsea's appointment! I was wondering how that was going. I hope it's something that just corrects itself as she gets older.

Happy Saturday! :)

That's what we are hoping, too.

I have downloaded the new Kingdom Keeper book on my e-reader, but have not read it yet.

Connor keeps after me to read it -- I will probably start it this week. He keeps trying to tell me what happens in it. LOL!

It is good to hear the Dr. went OK. I will continue to pray the curve improves or at least stabilizes. Short is OK, until you need something on the top shelf. Sometimes if the lunchroom ladies does not look up you get charged a student rate at lunch.

So true!!! I have had to ask people at the grocery store to reach things for me before.

DH, the cats, and I were also in the basement. We were lucky everything went north of us. I have a cousin in Rome that is still without power. They was only slight roof damage to their house, but he had two storage buildings away from the house that was flatened.

Oh no! Glad everyone is okay, but having to clean up damage and be without power isn't much fun, either.

Will you have school on Monday?

I am thinking yes. I believe most of the area has power back. However, the elementary school that was in the path of the tornado did get damaged, so they may have to send students from there to a different school. I imagine my students will want to talk about their experiences when they get to school. They know how I am about storms.

I was up by 5:00 on Friday morning. The wedding was beautiful. Kate makes you believe in Snow White and Cinderella. Just think she has come out against bullies, because she was bullied in school.

I did not know she was bullied in school. Poor girl! :(

One of my favorite parts was the video after the morning reception of them riding off in the car with the just married tag.

Me too! That was just darling and so unexpected.

Wishing you a normal week next week.

Thank you!

Patella Femural stress syndrome???? If so That is me too. Also called runners Knee. As for not being able to do anything about it, I have gone from Doctor to Doctor since I was younger that Chelsea and I have helped myself more that they have. :sad2:

For exercise, I have started taping my knees and it has helped tremendously. The Dr will probably want you to strengthen the muscles but I have found if you don't tape the kneecap to ride the correct track to avoid the pain it does not help. since I have been taping and running, I think the muscles are now able to pull it in the right track better and it much less painful. It is common in women due to the hip width vs. the knee and foot angles.

I have found KT tape and it is better than regular athletic tape and it comes with instructions. I think with some care and learning how her kneecap tracks and overcoming the physics of her body she can be fine with minimal or no pain.

That's exactly what Chelsea has, Pat! I told her what you said about the KT tape, and she asked me to get her some today, so she can start running again. Thank you, thank you! :worship:

Definitely been a busy week for you! So glad that the news from the Dr. was positive.

I didn't get up early to see the Royal Wedding but I did catch some of it before having to leave for work. Clay got up while I was watching and watched it with me. I think he continued to watch it after I left. I had to leave before the kiss(es) but caught a video of it when I got to work. I couldn't help but say "awwww" after the kiss and saw William was blushing. They are such a cute couple and I so hope that they will have a happily ever after.

CNN was running some of the highlights last night so I got to see everything I missed. Hannah watched it too and afterwards she was walking around with a blanket wrapped around her waist and walking slowly around the living room. When I asked her what she was doing she said "This is my train. I'm a princess." She was doing it all morning too.

Too cute about Hannah! That's totally something I would have done when I was her age! LOL!

You know, Charles was right there with me watching the ENTIRE wedding and all the aftermath. He even shussed me at one point. LOL! What is it about our men?

Did you guys have a pretty day today? Our last two days have been beautiful. I am so glad that all of you guys in GA made it through okay. There are people who will not be able to get their normal lives back for months to come. We've sure had wild weather this year. Let's hope the summer is just normal. :cool2:

We have had gorgeous weather since Thursday. I know the people involved in all the clean-up in our county have been thankful of that. It is just heartbreaking to me that people who are our neighbors and friends of friends are having to pick up the pieces of their lives. :sad1:

So glad to hear that Chelsea is ok.
The devastation is horrible. Saying lots of prayers for all of those effected.

It truly looks like a war zone in parts of the South. So sad.

I watched the Royal Wedding as well. Kate looked stunning. Loved the Sara Burton dress. A exhibit of Alexander McQueen's work opens at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4th. I definitely will stop in.
And I was pleased to see David Beckham as well. ;)

Did you see the other Sara Burton dress that Kate wore to the evening reception? Another stunner!

I hope you're having a relaxing weekend!

It is, but it is going too fast!

Hey CP! I am just plugging along here, trying to get back on track with my TRs! I liked your wedding day fun! Great treats! I saw snippets along the way, and listened to it as I was driving in to work.

I was very excited about the wedding. I had planned on taking a personal day to stay home and watch it, but then school ended up being canceled because of the storm damage and power outages. I know my friends thought it was very funny that I was going to take the day off, but I didn't want to miss any of the fun!

Glad to hear you all were safe at your house, and I also am totally in awe about the destruction that has plowed through the south the past week... wild seeing those houses flattened.

Those houses are just gone...it is hard to wrap my mind around it.

Yes, the news wasn't too bad about Chelsea. It was the best case scenario for her.

We were definitely counting our lucky stars about the storms. It could have been so much worse for us.

I was all about the royal wedding on Friday. LOL!

Definitely thought of you when I saw all the royal wedding highlights last night. I love that you had the petit fours!

Had to keep our blood sugar high since it was so early in the morning. LOL!

The aftermath of the storm is SO sad. I can't even imagine trying to clean up after all that, or being stuck in a basement with no way of knowing what's even going on. Hoping for a boring, normal week for you!

I know! I would be so overwhelmed trying to clean up that sort of damage. :sad2:

Wow Jackie and I thought my week was eventful! I hope that things slow down and relax for you for a bit. :goodvibes

Wow Jackie, what an eventful week. I wrote it on your FB wall but I'm so glad to hear you're all okay. I was very nervous up here knowing all my DIS friends in the South were experiencing something so terrifying. The devastation is horrible and it is truly a miracle no one in your county was killed!

The Royal Wedding was a nice escape!

Glad to hear Chelsea's doctor's appointment went well and it's nothing serious!

Glad to hear you are all ok.

I taped about 6 hours of the wedding & watched it all Friday night. I did not want to miss anything either.

Glad to hear Chelsea is doing ok. Hopefully her knee will not give her too much trouble & her Scoliosis will not get any worse.

I am so glad that you are all ok. I am also glad that Chelsea does not have arthritis. One of my friends girls has had it since shortly after she was born it can be so painful.

Wow Jackie I am so glad you are all safe and sound  Glad to hear Chelsea is doing ok.

I woke up at around 5:30 for the royal wedding and watched it until about 11. I was just a tad obsessed ;) The newest thing going around right now is a picture of the frowning flower girl who had her hands over her ears to block the noise from the crowds while Kate and Will kissed. It's really funny!

I'm so glad Chelsea doesn't have to wear a brace. Starting high school with a brace would be a bummer.

I'm also glad y'all made it through the storms okay. There has been so much destruction this spring. I'm hoping we don't have a bad hurricane season too. The South has had enough.

The girls and I got up at 4:30 to watch. We all climbed into Michelle's bed and watched. Danielle was the first to go back to bed after Kate arrived and walked. She was off this week for spring break. I watched until I had to start getting ready for work. Michelle was really into it.

Here's hoping this week goes much better.

I'm glad to hear you all fared well with last week's crazy storms. Its just incredible to see it on the news from PA I can't even imagine seeing in all around me.

Hope Chelsea is able to adapt to everything so that she can continue taking life by the horns....teens today are so very different than what I recall of being a teen.

I just saw your beach ticker... yeah for a ticker. The beach sounds lovely and relaxing....

Glad to hear that you and your family are okay. The devastation from those tornadoes is just horrible.

Glad to hear that Chelsea got a good report at the doctor.

We had scones and peppermint tea Friday morning at the office in honor of the Royal Wedding. Wasn't it just beautiful! I got up at 4:00 to watch it and by that afternoon I was about to fall asleep at my desk. :confused3 Oh well, it was worth it.

Wow Jackie and I thought my week was eventful! I hope that things slow down and relax for you for a bit. :goodvibes

Well, this week will be pretty busy, too, but hopefully it won't be stressful busy. ;)

Thanks, Kristen! It was very scary at the time.

The Royal Wedding was a nice escape!

::yes::

Glad to hear Chelsea's doctor's appointment went well and it's nothing serious!

Thanks! We are relieved.

Glad to hear you are all ok.

I taped about 6 hours of the wedding & watched it all Friday night. I did not want to miss anything either.

My eyeballs were completely dried out by the time I was finished watching everything. LOL!

Glad to hear Chelsea is doing ok. Hopefully her knee will not give her too much trouble & her Scoliosis will not get any worse.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Thank you! One of my close friends has arthritis, and it is so painful.

Thanks! Oh, I was a tad bit obsessed as well. I watched most of the morning, and then, that night I watched all the recaps. Wasn't that little flower girl just hilarious?

I'm so glad Chelsea doesn't have to wear a brace. Starting high school with a brace would be a bummer.

I know it was a weight off Chelsea's mind. She was very worried.

I'm also glad y'all made it through the storms okay. There has been so much destruction this spring. I'm hoping we don't have a bad hurricane season too. The South has had enough.

I know it -- I hope everything is calm and lovely from here on out.

Too funny about Danielle. Connor fell asleep about halfway through the ceremony, and Chelsea dozed off a time or two as well. She woke up in time to watch them leave the church. I was glued to the television for most of the day.

I'm glad to hear you all fared well with last week's crazy storms. Its just incredible to see it on the news from PA I can't even imagine seeing in all around me.

It's almost surreal to see it in person.

Hope Chelsea is able to adapt to everything so that she can continue taking life by the horns....teens today are so very different than what I recall of being a teen.

I agree -- it seems like they have so much more confidence than I had.

I just saw your beach ticker... yeah for a ticker. The beach sounds lovely and relaxing....

I am so ready for vacation!

Glad to hear that you and your family are okay. The devastation from those tornadoes is just horrible.

Glad to hear that Chelsea got a good report at the doctor.

Thank you!!!

What a fun idea!!! Scones would have been perfect!

Glad to hear everything went well at Chelsea's appointment!!!
WOOT another week down and you only have two left!!!! I think celebrating with watching POTC sounds PERFECT!!!!!

Hi, Jen! Welcome back! Yes, we are down to ten school days. Thank goodness! The end can't come soon enough at this point.

That is so hard to believe, only 10 more school days! I used to look forward to the end of the school year, but since I no longer have kids in school I don't keep track. It seems like the year has fled by.

It really stinks everything that is happening.. I hope things get better around there soon. I've been debating moving to that state/area... but idk I'm starting to get worried..

and your little treats look amazing.. I would eat them at 4am too! :goodvibes

That's exactly what Chelsea has, Pat! I told her what you said about the KT tape, and she asked me to get her some today, so she can start running again. Thank you, thank you! :worship:

Glad it could help. I have been dealing with this for too many years, probably since I was Chelsea's age and I will certainly share anything I have learned since it seems like most of the doctors don't have a solution. :confused3 I have braced and wrapped but the tape was a Godsend. I have really made it work and the KT tape is expensive but it is pre- cut. I have actually started cutting the strips in half since they are so long so I am making it last. I will probably get 8 applications out of the roll instead of the 2 i got from a cheap roll of tape.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will try to help the best I can.
