Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Catching up! Glad Chelsea's bloodwork came out ok! The dress is just beautiful!

Love the poster for Connor's room! It matches perfectly!

Love the beach bag too!

The doctor did call and say there were no signs of RA in her blood work. That's a relief.

So glad to hear this! :goodvibes

Oh, he meant for all four of us to go -- he wasn't offering to send me by myself. LOL!

That's not relaxing!

Love all the retro/vintage pictures you found for Connor's room. The Disneyland map is way cool!

Love the beach bag and the books too!

I'm currently reading Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. It's been out for a while and I've thought about buying it but always put it back. I'm glad I bought it this time!

I just finished reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It's a true story about a poor African American woman who was diagnosed with cancer in 1951. She died shortly after the diagnoses. During her treatment and after she died, the doctors took some of her cells for research. Her cells were the first cells to become "immortal" (i.e. the researchers were successful in keeping the cells alive) and they were very hardy. They continued to split and split and split. The research done on those cells helped develop the polio vaccine and other medical discoveries. However, her family was unaware about any of this. So it's kind of a debate on whether it's ethical to take and use someone's cells without their knowledge or consent. Pretty interesting.

I've got a book called Fair Weather waiting in the wings. It's set during the World's Colombian Expo in Chicago. The city relatives invite the country relatives to come visit and provide tickets for the Expo. There are actual photographs from the Expo in the book. It was in the kids section at the used book store and I thought it would be pretty cool. Plus, it's something Hannah can read later. Plus! There's a Disney connection!

I love that style of dress and very age appropriate! I loved going dress shopping for dances.. this brings back soo many memories! :goodvibes

Wow I missed a lot of updates! Let's see what I can remember....

I'm glad Chelsea's bloodwork didn't show any signs of RA!

LOVE the artwork that you found for Connor's room!! I'll have to remember art.com when we get ready to do the kids' rooms again.

You MUST start a new PTR for the beach/NYE!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Chelsea's dance dress!! It suits her and she looks beautiful in it! I can't wait to see the actual dance night pics!

I pray that you continue to get positive results from all of Chelsea's tests.

So scary for her and you. :grouphug:

Love the new posters for Connor's room! They will be perfect! Love the colors he chose too! :thumbsup2

Chelsea's new dress is very pretty! She looks so beautiful in it. Great choice!
I hope she has a wonderful time. :goodvibes

I can't wait to have my mother/daughter dress shopping day with Lexi...someday. ;)

Hi CP! Sorry I haven't been around lately... trying to catch up w/all my DIS-friends!

Chelsa looks so pretty and age-appropriate in her new gown! I'm keeping her in my prayers for the rest of her tests to come back favorably.

Oh my, I have missed out on so much!
I had no idea about Chelsea! So glad that her blood work came back okay....

Darling dress, so glad that you found one that you both loved!

Connor's prints are awesome! Have we discussed the fact that I have that vintage map on my not so formal livingroom wall? I had it framed at Hobby Lobby. It used to hang over Baylor's Crib, then youth bed. When he graduated to sports I decided to take it for my own enjoyment....

I'm with the other's, please don't close this PTR until you are ready to start another. We want to keep up with your family!:goodvibes

Tried to post this two days ago, but my computer wouldn't cooperate. I LOVE chelsea's dress. It is gorgeous and perfect!!!!! Nice job!

Jackie,
I'm so glad that Chelsea's results didn't show RA and I hope everything else is okay. RA runs in our family, so I can sympathize with being scared at it being mentioned.

I love Chelsea's dress! It's so pretty and she looks great in it. :thumbsup2

Chelsea looks beautiful in her dress! :) What a great find! :thumbsup2 I am glad you had a great day together.

Thank you! Now we just have to find shoes and jewelry!

I posted on FB. She looks so beautiful in the dress. Good choice.

I keep asking Cody if he is going to the prom (which is NEXT month) & he keeps telling me he doesn't know yet.:confused3

Sounds like you & Chelsea had a great mother-daughter day.:goodvibes

Thank you! Our high school's prom was last night, so I enjoyed looking at the pics of students all dressed up on Facebook -- posted by their moms who I know. I do have to stay the girls always look more excited than the boys. LOL!

What a beautiful young lady!! The dress is stunning!!! Hope she has an amazing time at her dance!!!!

YAY for it being relatively easy and stress free WOOT WOOT!! Of course you can't beat a stop at the Disney store!!!!

Thanks, Jen! Yes, stopping at the Disney store was my reward. LOL!

I honestly love that dress! I'm pretty sure Macy's is where my sister just found her senior prom dress. Kailyn also has a problem with finding dresses...she's only 5'3" but for her height and size she's larger "up top", so she has a really hard time finding dresses that fit her properly -- even dresses in her usual size don't always fit right. And David's Bridal is where we went for bridesmaid dresses for Charles's sister's wedding. :) I'm pretty sure his younger sister is wearing her maid of honor dress to her junior prom this year. She was pretty excited last year that she already had her dress for prom :rotfl:

Thanks, Meghan! Macy's will probably be where we look for prom dresses in a few years. :thumbsup2

What a cute dress! Chelsea looks so pretty in it too, she is such a lovely girl Jackie, I really feel for you next year with all those high school boys around! :scared1:

Thank you, Michelle! Yes, high school and high school boys will probably be quite an ordeal for us as parents. I don't think I will think about that right now.

So pretty!! You hit the jackpot finding that dress!

Thanks, Christine. Chelsea and I were both very pleased with the dress.

I posted on FB too but love it. It's very appropriate for her age and quite classy looking. :) (I seriously am going to learn to keep my loud opinions to myself when shopping with my girls.) You are right, if you say you like something, that means they WON'T, even if they really do. ;) Girls!

Thanks, Kelli! Yes, I have a really hard time not voicing my opinions sometimes, but as long as everything is covered, I try not to. ;)

Love, love, love that dress and Chelsea looks beautiful!! (I really enjoyed noticing the silly bandz and bracelets she had on - it is a good reminder that she's still young!)

Thanks, Sheree! Yes, I laughed when I saw the picture and noticed she was still wearing all those Silly Bandz and bracelets. We will have to find some jewelry that matches better. :lmao:

Good advice about not saying too much when she's picking things out. I'll have to remember that when it's shopping time with Sarah. She's the same way. Paige, not so much. If she doesn't like it, she won't wear it. If she likes it, it must be hers and she will wear it constantly! Strong opinions, that little girl has! (Yoda speak!)

Sometimes it is all I can do not to say, "Why are you wearing that???" Sometimes I can't help myself -- it just comes out. LOL!

Sounds like you've been having a nice and productive spring break. I hope you got some relaxing time too! All this talk about books makes me want to read more! Sarah is starting the Kingdom Keepers and is reading the Harry Potter series, so I'm re-reading the HP books that I've read and waiting to get the KK book from her! Plus I have a list a mile long of books I want to read! Darn work keeps getting in the way. (Not too much to keep me from DISing of course!)

I love reading! I always seem to have a stack to work through. :goodvibes

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chelsea's dress!!!! :lovestruc:wizard::love: She's looks too cute for words.

Thank you! I love that dress, too! I think it is very classic-looking.

So cute!

I'm jealous, when we went shopping for K last spring for my sisters wedding the Macy's selection was just awful! Thankfully we did luck out at David's but what a total opposite experience!

It's perfect.

Isn't it funny the different experiences we can have at the same places? I was so disappointed in David's selection, but others found adorable dresses there. I am sure we will be back there again when it is time for prom dress shopping in a few years.

Catching up...

I'm glad Chelsea's blood work came out negative!

Thanks. I am hoping we get more answers when we go to the orthopedic doctor on the 25th.

I love the posters for Connor's room - Perfect! I think the treehouse one will go great!:thumbsup2 I always love retro Disney.

Thanks! I love retro Disney, too. Now I just need to get them all framed and on the walls.

Cute beach bag - perfect bag for the perfect books. I have downloaded way more than I can read to my Nook for our trip!:goodvibes

I usually end up with more books for vacation than I can read, but then it is nice to come home with some still to read.

I LOVE Chelsea's dress! :thumbsup2 It is just so pretty and not too old, or too short. She has wonderful taste. I hope she has a wonderful time!

Thanks! I thought the dress was perfect! Hopefully we will have an easy time finding shoes to go with it as well.

Oh, and yes, I agree with MeMom. You will need to keep us posted.... Dawn has been doing a PTR turned baby report turned PTR for a very long time:rolleyes1 Actually, I guess she is taking a break, but I'm sure you can start a PTR for New Year's with a mini report on the beach so we can find you...

Oh, I am sure I will start another PTR sooner rather than later. I have already been trying to plan the next vacation. LOL! Dawn actually has a new PTR going -- it is called something like "It All Started With a Wish and a Fountain." Lots of cute pics of Seth on it. :goodvibes

I took my DD prom dress shopping a few years ago  ( where did that time go ) and it was a whole day affair- she is itty bitty too. We almost gave up but finally found something. Had to hit the Jessica McClintock store :scared1: but we found "it", something nice and not too revealing and something we both liked.

I didn't realize there were still Jessica McClintock dresses out there. I bought my prom dresses and my graduation dress from there. Now I have to go investigate. :goodvibes

It seems like in NC there are a lot of "bigger" girls nothing for a size 4 or 6. :confused3

I felt that way about Georgia, too!

I forgot to mention it when I saw your stack of books to read, but I got a Kindle for my vacation reading. I was so opposed to those things, but I just love it! It holds 3000 books & weighs only 8oz. I also got a neat case for it from VB.

Chelsea is dying for a Nook or a Kindle. We may give in to her for her birthday or Christmas.

Great price for the dress & what a sweet girl not wanting to bother you for a new dress because of the extra cost. I'd say Chelsea is a definate keeper!:worship:

Oh, yes, I will definitely keep Chelsea! :goodvibes

Awww I love Chelsea's dress! Age appropriate, fun and reasonably priced...perfect! :thumbsup2

I agree that you need to have some type of PTR going on still...I don't think in the 2.5 years I've been on the DIS that I haven't been following some type of trip report of yours!

Thanks, Kristen! Yes, I don't think I will be able to NOT have something to write on the DIS. I would be lost!

Just an adorable dress! :) TOO cute! All grown up she looks! :goodvibes How much fun it must be shopping with a girl !!! Mine still let me buy everything they wear, fortunately... it makes it easier!

Thanks, HD! It was a lot of fun shopping with Chelsea, but I do have to say I like that I can still pick out all of Connor's clothes. LOL!

Sounds like you had a great time and were successful to boot! :thumbsup2

I don't think it would have been nearly as fun if we hadn't been successful.

I love Chelsea's dress, it's perfect! She looks beautiful in it :)

Thank you! We are looking forward to taking lots of pictures when it is time.

Perfect dress for Chelsea! She looks so cute in it!

Thanks, Amy! We just love it!

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!

Jackie, I get the OCD, so in order to help my OCD, please post a new link before closing the Star Wars ptr! :upsidedow

I will make sure I do post a link. LOL!

Let's see, I missed a lot this week!
1. LOVE Connor's new wall art!
2. Sorry for Chelsea's worries. Glad it is RA. Also, it is pretty normal for one leg to be a little longer than the other.
3. Cute beach bag
4. Love Chelsea's dress more each time I see it!
5. You really are so very good! (I keep checking airfare to see if I can take the girls to Disney for 3 days over break...no go...airfare there is cheap $76, but home is $400!!!) Of course, I don't know if I could even get a hotel...but I have APs!!!! yeah, dreams...even if I could find cheap tixs, I think dh's sad face would prevent me from being able to go. :sad2:

I do love the new pictures! We are hoping for some actual answers from the doctor on the 25th. Can't wait to use my beach bag! I love Chelsea's dress, too. I think she did a great job picking it out. Oh, and don't think I haven't been pricing out all kinds of Disney vacations lately. LOL!

That dress for Chelsea is just beautiful. At the risk of sounding a little old fashioned here, I can't believe what a young lady she's turned into! She's just beautiful, I know you have some mother / daughter moments, but I am going to live vicariously through you and enjoy every one. :goodvibes

Thank you, Kat! It was a lot of fun shopping with Chelsea, and I think she made an excellent choice!

Love the dress!
Chelsea is a beautiful young lady.

Thank you, Jen! She has been trying to figure out how she wants to do her hair now.

Catching up! Glad Chelsea's bloodwork came out ok! The dress is just beautiful!

Love the poster for Connor's room! It matches perfectly!

Love the beach bag too!

Thanks! We are hoping for more answers about her back and knees on the 25th!

Love all the retro/vintage pictures you found for Connor's room. The Disneyland map is way cool!

I love them and can't wait to get them all framed!

Love the beach bag and the books too!

I can't wait to use it/read them. :goodvibes

Thanks! I remember loving the whole dress shopping experience, too.

Wow I missed a lot of updates! Let's see what I can remember....

I'm glad Chelsea's bloodwork didn't show any signs of RA!

Me too! I am hoping we get some more concrete answers on the 25th.

LOVE the artwork that you found for Connor's room!! I'll have to remember art.com when we get ready to do the kids' rooms again.

They have all sorts of great prints. I hadn't ordered from them before, but I was very pleased with them. They ship very quickly.

You MUST start a new PTR for the beach/NYE!!!!

Oh, I think I will just from the standpoint of being lost without something to write on the DIS. LOL!

I hope she has a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Thank you! I think she is going to have a fun time. A bunch of her friends are just going to go together, and I think that is perfect.

I can't wait to have my mother/daughter dress shopping day with Lexi...someday. ;)

It will be here sooner than you think! Speaking of shopping, I love all your pics of your NY stuff! So cute! I love all the NY themed stuff at the Disney store there!

Hi CP! Sorry I haven't been around lately... trying to catch up w/all my DIS-friends!

Kathy

Hi, Kathy! Thank you -- I think Chelsea picked out all the perfect dress!

Fun link! I can't wait for the new ride!

Works for me. :thumbsup2

All my kids went through growing pains at different times. They especially complained about how much their legs hurt. ::yes::

I am hoping it is just growing pains with Chelsea's knees.

Oh my, I have missed out on so much!
I had no idea about Chelsea! So glad that her blood work came back okay....

Thanks! The scoliosis is what has us most worried right now.

Darling dress, so glad that you found one that you both loved!

It was a relief, let me tell you. LOL!

I do remember you having that same map! It's so cool, isn't it? ::yes::

I'm with the other's, please don't close this PTR until you are ready to start another. We want to keep up with your family!:goodvibes

I won't abandon this one completely until I can figure out how to do the next one. :thumbsup2

Tried to post this two days ago, but my computer wouldn't cooperate. I LOVE chelsea's dress. It is gorgeous and perfect!!!!! Nice job!

Thank you!!! I just love it!

Jackie,
I'm so glad that Chelsea's results didn't show RA and I hope everything else is okay. RA runs in our family, so I can sympathize with being scared at it being mentioned.

Thanks! I have a friend with RA, and it is so hard to manage.

I love Chelsea's dress! It's so pretty and she looks great in it. :thumbsup2

Thank you! She is very excited about the dance now.

So cool! Thanks for sharing, Kathy!

I thought of Chelsea yesterday when a friend of mine posted pics of her daughter headed out to their 8th grade formal...she was dressed like she was ready to go clubbing :scared1:

It made me glad I know people who recognize what is age appropriate for their daughters!!

You should have seen how some of the girls were dressed at Justin's basketball banquet last weekend! Don just looked at me and said, "I'm glad I don't have a daughter". I told him if we did she wouldn't be dressed like that!

I was shocked the other day when I picked up Jared at school, I saw a 6th grade girl who was wearing the equivilent of the naughty Catholic school girl outfit - super short skirt, plunging v-neck shirt and knee high boots - 6th grade, I kid you not :sad2:

Oh wow, Chelsea’s dress is gorgeous and she looks great in it! I had a similar experience with my daughter when shopping for her Father/Daughter dance. She and I seemed to fall in love with the same dress, but I knew that she would second guess it if I gushed over it :lmao: I was so happy when she chose the dress that not only flattered her the most but that I liked the most LOL. Anyway, I think you are going to have to invest in a baseball bat to keep the boys away from Chelsea
