Send some positive thoughts please

This is a truly terrible situation and I'm sorry you're having to go thru it.

On a totally practical note, talk to your planner as soon as you can, let them know what's happened and that there's a chance you might need to postpone or cancel. We had to postpone last year and we had to make sure we did it in time so as to lose as little money as possible. I know you'd hate to do it, but I believe if you cancel/postpone more than 90 days out you're only losing your deposit, after that the penalties are much steeper. Make sure they tell you exactly what those dates are so that as they approach you can make the best decision for you both. If you're already going to be in a financial pinch I'd hate for your wedding to make it any worse!

Thank you guys for all of your kind words. It's amazing how people you don't even know can make you feel a little better by saying that you are in their thoughts and prayers.

My DF and I had a long talk the other night and we came to a couple conclusions. I told him that I don't care where we get married just as long as we get married. And I also told him that I think I prefer we go on our honeymoon as planned because I think we will both need that time away from everything and everyone. Unfortunately I don't think it is financially smart to do both the Disney Wedding and then the Disney Cruise we had planned to do for the honeymoon, especially since he will be out of work w/o pay for so long. Plus he would probably have to take leave w/o pay for the wedding and honeymoon. So as of today we are going to start planning a wedding in northeastern PA and go on the Disney cruise for our honeymoon. If this all means we are losing our deposit then oh well its not really that important.

Once again thank you for all of your well wishes!!!

GJL, I am so glad that you two are holding on to your Disney honneymoon. You are completely right that you will need to get away just to two of you for awhile. Disney is such a magical place! I am sorry that your plan to have the wedding at Disney did not work out, but it is still going to be a beautiful and magical day! You two made some excellent choices! You are right...it doesn't matter where or when you get married, it is who. :goodvibes

Maybe you could bring some Disney to your wedding? :) I am having a DFTW at my reception in Iowa.

I am glad things are working out! Keep us updated!

So sorry you had to go through this. Sending you some

I will keep you in my prayers! I'm sure everything will work out!

First, let me just say that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Second, thank goodness your DF is doing alright, and it's fantastic that your work will let you add him to your insurance! He must have had someone looking out for him for things not to have gone much worse.

I think you're making a good decision and I know that your home wedding will be no less magical than one at Disney. The trappings may be different, but you're together and that's what the day is about: a celebration of love between two people no matter where they may be.

Best of luck and deepest sympathies from the bottom of my heart.

Check with his auto/motorcycle insurance to see if it includes disability coverage. Most auto/motorcycle policies do, especially if you live in a no fault state. You also should check to see if he had any type of disability coverage through his employer -- even though he was terminated, as long as he was employed the date of the accident, he would have coverage. If it looks like he will be out of work for at least a year due to injuries, Social Security Disability should also be considered.

Big hugs to you! I hope everything goes well!

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation! We're all thinking of you and sending the best possible thoughts and warmest virtual hugs to you and your fiance.

So very sorry. You and your honey will be in my thoughts as prayers as well.

I second the note to let your planner know ASAP. There is a clause for cancellation in the contract for death and other extreme emergencies. I would read you contract; I think it's the last page, just to be clear before talking to you planner.
