One: I'm not really sure I get the difference between PhotoPass and PhotoPass+.

Two: We leave at 3am tomorrow morning:cheer2:. I haven't purchased either of the above yet, meaning that I have not yet taken advantage of the discount pre-purchase price. I know I have missed my window on PhotoPass+. But can I still do the regular one tonight? And how do I get it? Is there a voucher to print or something?

Three: Should I just wait and cough up the money when we get there for either one? And is it worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Photopass+ was introduced after my time there, so I don't have any info to share with you on it. However, I think you'd be just fine utilizing the regular (FREE!) service of Photopass in the parks. There's no obligation to buy anything unless you'd like high quality prints of your photos. And luckily, you can take care of that when you get home from vacation!
I'm sure there are lots of nice benefits to Photopass+, but if you're really in a crunch I'd say save the money and go for regular Photopass :)

Have fun!

We have used both PhotoPass and PhotoPass+ for all of our recent WDW trips (including two with the high school band).

We love using the PhotoPass photographers in general. Most we have dealt with are wonderful. Unfortunately, there are a few exceptions. The ones we really love take the time to make your photos the best possible, not just point and shoot.

As our kids are all teenagers now, we frequently split off into small groups and meet back again for meals. It's great to still get photos of the kids even when we aren't around.

The main difference between PhotoPass and PhotoPass+ is you need to order PhotoPass+ beforehand (though I've been told there is a work around to upgrade once you get to the parks) and ride photos are included in the PhotoPass+ option. We prefer the PhotoPass+ as we are all big ride fans. Note - during our last visit (May/June 2013) we noticed there is now another option called Rides+ (or something similar to that).

When they say unlimited photos - they mean it. And you can increase the number by customizing the photos afterwards with special borders, character signatures, black/white vs color, and cropping.

One thing to note with the PhotoPass+, you get only one special card that includes the ride photos for free. Which meant during the day I had the kids text me ride name and photo numbers so I could "collect" them onto the card. I have done it where I went to each ride to gather the missing photos, but later discovered I sometimes could can have the Photo services (near the entrance of each park) add them for me. You need to get a PhotoPass CM who is more familiar with the software.

This doesn't help the OP, but for anyone else who is interested...

The photopass cd pre-purchase can be made anytime before the first picture is taken. When you buy it, it puts a credit in your account for the cd purchase after your trip. So once you purchase, there is nothing more you need to do.

pp+ has to be pre-purchased 14 days before your trip. With that, they send you a gallery cd (WDW stock photos) in the mail. The package mailed to you also includes a voucher you need to bring to the park to get your pp+ card. Inside the cd case there is a code you need to use after the trip to apply the cd purchase credit.

Exception - Now you can add the pp+ pre-purchase to your resort package (you must have a package, not room only). You can then add it closer to your trip than 14 days.

With pp+ you get the photopass cd, digital copies of all ride photos, digital copies and print packages from meals (where they are taken), and digital copies and print package from pirates league.

The difference from the cd pre-purchase ($120) to pp+ prepurchase ($150) is $30. That is the cost of 2 ride photos or 1 meal photo.

Without the pre-purchase, the costs are $170 and $200, respectively. So, you save $50 by pre-purchasing.

Is the pp+ really worth it?

I'm going at the end of August and I have the dining plan plus with ADRs for Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner, Be Our Guest, Tusker House, Ohana's breakfast, Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh, and Cinderella's Royal Table. With the dining plan, I get the photos for Cinderella's Royal Table.

I also booked the Mad Tea Party Tea for my dd and since parents are not allowed, the only pictures from the tea will be for purchase. Don't know if pp+ can be used for the tea party.

I do character dining quite often at the Disneyland Resort and the pictures seldom come out well, so I almost never buy.

In all my years as a DLR landholder I think I may have bought maybe 5 pictures total.

If you have pp+, you can just go to the station and get print outs of your pics right away? Unlimited? How's the quality? I'm not sure if I can make it worth it or not.

If you take advantage of the photopass photographers (for the cd) it is worth it. With pp+, you would get photo packages at Tusker House and Ohana. The Tusker house photo has Donald Duck, so I think it is one of the best. If you like one of the photos, it covers the cost. Also, you would get ride photos, which I really like getting.

I don't know anything about the tea party. If the pictures there are taken by photopass photographers, you would get them.

You do not get any prints of the photopass pics. The advantage is you can make as many prints as you like once you get the cd. You can take it to Target, or anywhere else, and have prints made very inexpensively (prints from Disney cost $15).
