Was there Marvel merchandise?
Can you please keep us updated with how many are on the second half of the sailing? Thank you!
Was there Marvel merchandise?
Thanks for the great info! We r going on MDAS on 1/22. Can’t wait! Couple of questions - 1. Are the marvel shows “assigned” by dining times? Can you go to both? 2. What marvel movies are showing? 3. You said 2 shows each going 2 nights - are they assigned? 4. Are there any variety performers or movies as the primary evening entertainment? 5. Will the marvel characters stop and pose for distanced pictures? Thanks so much!
No worries. I have to log in a couple of times a day to check my email, so this works. Here are some of the answers:Thank you for being so generous with your time while on board. Are they doing multiple shows (believe, Dreams, Tangled) or repeating one show and offering nothing on some nights?
Thank you! Really appreciate the information on the cruise. Hope you have a fantastic rest of your voyage. No worries. I have to log in a couple of times a day to check my email, so this works. Here are some of the answers:
1. About 860 folks on the 4-nighter. Quite a few first timers. Again, mostly adults and young families.
2. They did have a lot of Marvel merchandise in the stores on the MDAS cruise. Mostly apparel, but also gifts, replicas, and art. Looks like they have cleared out most of it for this second cruise.
3. Marvel deck parties are at 8.30 PM and 10.30 PM. No restriction on who can attend which one, but those dining first could attend both while also sitting down for a leisurely meal. If you are dining second, you could do a quick dinner, attend the first party, eat some more and be back for the second. Some of us did attend both of them - they were that good!
4. Pretty much all of the recent Marvel releases (of the last 2-3 years) have been shown at some point over these two cruises - except, of course, the new Spiderman movie whose rights are with Sony. Outside of Marvel, you can see West Side Story, Encanto, Jungle Cruise, etc.
5. You can watch any show at any time - no restrictions other than the logistics of your dinner. So, you have 'Tangled' at 6.00 PM and 8.30 PM on each of the first two nights (= 4 performances in all) and 'Dreams' at 6.00 PM and 8.30 PM on each of the last two nights (= 4 performance as well). If you don't mind fasting on the evenings, you could sit through all 8 of them! On the 5-night MDAS cruise, you have the deck parties on the third night - separating the double evenings of the two shows.
6. Nearly not as many variety acts / performers as before COVID. In particular, very few such performances while the main shows are running. Of those on board, the ventriloquist was really good. If prioritizing, attend her show!
7. Unlike on Fantasy, nothing seems to have been cancelled. No cancelled ports either.
One more item of convenience before I forget. You don't need any paper other than your passports (and the vaccine cards if you didn't upload them earlier). We had the port arrival forms saved on our phones, and all they did was scan the QR codes all the way through. From security to testing to stepping on board.
quick question, how would timing work for late dining and trying to catch both marvel shows? do you mean go eat right at 8, leave for the party, and then go back to dinner before the 2nd show?? how spread out are the assigned dining times? how early do you recommend arriving for the shows due to covid spacing, etcNo worries. Holy moly that is a cute mug! I don’t know the answer but now I want one too! Thanks for the info....our Jan 22 Magic just changed to a double dip at CC since we are not going to Grand Cayman. Just got the email. Also, did you happen to notice if they had this mug onboard for the Magic? We have the Dream and Fantasy and want to add to the set. Thanks.

You probably won't be able to eat in the MDRs with a mid-meal break for the fireworks, but you could eat elsewhere before the 8.30 PM show. Like elsewhere on Deck 9. While the deck party takes about 20-30 minutes, you would want to find a good spot by arriving at least the same amount of time earlier.quick question, how would timing work for late dining and trying to catch both marvel shows? do you mean go eat right at 8, leave for the party, and then go back to dinner before the 2nd show?? how spread out are the assigned dining times? how early do you recommend arriving for the shows due to covid spacing, etc
Can't say I have. They have the generic DCL mugs, but the only ship-specific items I have seen are the magnets and the tees. Thanks for the info....our Jan 22 Magic just changed to a double dip at CC since we are not going to Grand Cayman. Haven't had the chance so far - just been enjoying cruising with the kids. We are doing the WBPC cruise in March and do plan to hit Palo a few times on that sailing.Do you plan to try the Palo Brunch on either cruise? I'm curious if the experience is worth it post-Covid. We've done it prior and want to understand the difference we should expect. Thanks.
