Semi-Live from the Magic - Jan 8/Jan 13 | B2B | MDAS - Happy to Answer Any Questions!

Another QQ, what the capacity limit for the pools? How did it work when capacity was reached?
The passenger count was low enough that we never saw any pool capacity being hit on any day. The adult pool was busier, particularly on the Nassau day.
Can you share how the edge and vibe worked? Did they have capacity limits or wait times?
Yes, there are capacity limits. They did reach capacity in Edge once in a while but never for long enough to leave our kids stranded. The Edge averaged about 12 to 15 kids, while Vibe about 8 to 10.

Thanks for sharing all of this, OP! We are on the MDAS sailing on 1/31 and I was very curious about how MDAS would look this time around.

Question - were many people (guests) in costume that day?

I was curious what the disembarkation process was like. I have a 3pm flight back but wondering if I should move it up.

Uneventful! As we like it. Did the express walk-off and were out in no time.

Like pre-COVID, they assigned baggage tag colors to each group. As we waited on our B2B turnaround day, the baggage calls seemed to be moving at a brisk pace - likely due to fewer passengers. In fact, they were green-lighting the last few groups while we were still eating. The terminal itself was a ghost town.

Thank you for all of this! We are doing a MDAS on Feb 14th and this helps a lot. :-)

follow-up on the disembarkation, are they shuttling people and luggage back to the parking lot or just people and you have to drive back to the terminal to pick up the rest of your party with your luggage?

The port runs a shuttle for Disney back and forth to the parking garage. You can load all your luggage and the traveling party. No need to drive back. Just keep some spare change for tips to the driver who will also help load/unload your luggage.

You may want to drop off your party and luggage first on the way in though. As I noted upthread, there may be a queue to go through the security. So, this way, your party can queue up while you park the car away.

thanks, yeah on the way in is completely different. Was there a wait for the shuttles?

I was curious how the buffets (breakfast/lunch) at Cabanas were managed to control the crowds? Is the capacity low enough so that spacing is a non issue? Also thought I read or heard that some of the stations weren’t open. Thanks.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I did not see it.

My question is about the covid testing on a back to back cruises. Do you need to go through the same process when getting back on the ship as when you got on the ship for the first cruise? What about the safe travels site? How did that work for you?

TIA

We had no issues at cabanas. No lines and tons of tables that were spaced out nicely.

Yes, you get off the ship to go test again and must test negative again to re-board the ship.

Plenty of spacing in Cabanas - including outside.

I recommend taking your lunch out on to the aft deck on Day 1 (if the weather cooperates) and eating with the Miami skyline in the background.

Yes, you go through the same process. Since you will be in the first group on the B2B turnaround day, the testing queue should be minimal. You will still have to wait the 45 minutes or so to get your results. Let them know in the waiting area that you are in the B2B group, so they can board you early.

While you do need to add the second reservation to your Safe Passage account, you don't need to upload the documents again.
