We have two contracts that we are considering putting on the market. We unfortunately had to cancel a vacation somewhat last minute and used the points in hold to book an RCI vacation for April 2015. Can we still list the contracts and take the RCI vacation? The points have already left our DVC account, so it seems as though it wouldn't make a difference as we've essentially already permanently traded the points into RCI. Does that make sense?

I would think the contract would sell as is. If they were holding points I don't think there is anyway they could go back in your account.

Enjoy your 2015 vacation. :goodvibes

My recollection is the RCI reservation is supposed to be canceled. I don't believe I've seen anyone post selling with a pending RCI reservation. The following quote is a few years old (mentions II instead of RCI) but comes directly from the transfer instructions from DVC.
COMPLETE ALL USE OF RESERVATIONS: All reservations associated with the Ownership Interest that is being sold must be complete prior to the closing date of the sale, including but not limited to, reservations for the Interval International® Exchange Program, that occur after the sale of that Ownership Interest will be cancelled. Points remaining in the account for the Ownership Interest that is sold will be transferred to the buyer’s account after the closing is completed.
Whether the points in the RCI account will go to the new owner as an RCI deposit is an unknown, my guess is it will not and they will simply be lost. I'd ask your broker if they have any experience in this area and also DVC both for the complete transfer info and this exact subject.

I would call DVC Member Administration (not MS) and ask them how that would be handled. That's really the only way to be sure.

My guess is that the RCI reservation would be canceled -- just found money for DVC. But my guess doesn't matter. Call Member Admin.

I also tend to agree with Dean that the points in RCI probably would not transfer to a new owner. When I bought Wyndham, I was surprised to find some points (a lot of points, actually) in RCI. But Wyndham is a completely different animal. With Wyndham, each owner has an individual RCI account tied directly to our Wyndham account. DVC is the opposite -- only DVC itself has an account with RCI.
