I have a completely different experience with TTS...
Every step of the buying process was difficult:
- I had to initiate almost every conversation with TTS, no one was proactive in contacting me with information (except Robert, who was great, but he wasn't our agent).
- A request for an overnight delivery of information to us was bungled. The person handling our request simply dropped the envelope into a mailbox because "the mailman didn't come into the office today". So, an overnight package took three days to get to us, making it impossible to return signed contracts in a timely manner.
- When I finally got to fax the signed contract to TTS (I wasn't signing without reviewing all supporting
DVC documentation), I included a coversheet with a request for a phone call to confirm receipt
(in big bold letters). After two days of not hearing from TTS, I called to confirm they received the fax. The person on the phone told me she did not even look at the coversheet.
- The contract was completely inaccurate, as TTS used an old point usage spreadsheet to confirm the seller actually had the points they were trying to sell. The contract stated all points were available, when in reality almost all points were in hold status and the following use year was stripped. Jason did proactively call me on this one, and accepted complete responsibility for having me sign a stripped contract. He told me Disney was the one to catch the error when presented the contract for ROFR.
- TTS was suppose to call me when they had another, acceptable, contract available. I was told I was "number 1 on the list" when something became available. After three weeks, I got tired of waiting and bought from another company. The other company had a lot of acceptable contracts for my review, I got the resort I wanted, the points I wanted, the price I wanted, and the use year I wanted. (Oh, TTS finally did call....after I signed the other company's winning contract.)
In short, TTS didn't do their homework, they didn't pay attention to detail, and I never received any apology other than a cursory "sorry". They didn't seem too interested in earning my business, so they didn't get my money. I was left with absolutely no level of comfort in using their services.
As a buyer, and as someone working in sales to Fortune 100 companies for years, I've come to expect agents to look out for me when I'm trying to spend about $10,000. I don't want someone sucking-up to me, but I do expect them to do their jobs correctly. TTS' agents have a fiduciary duty to represent the interests of both seller and buyer. In my opinion, TTS failed the buyer.
TTS clearly dropped the ball over-and-over and I'll never use them again for either selling or buying.
