I may be visiting Disney in Paris next year and have just found out that they will not accept my gift cards that I have.:crazy2::sad2: I am thinking about taking a small hit on them and selling them to get cash. Any advice on how to do it to get the best return, ect?

Ebay...they often command more than face value but you will pay auction fees.

Raise...theyll probably sell within days. You can set your price. Raise will take their cut.

Look at giftcardgranny to find other websites where people sell unwanted GCs. You can get an idea of what people are getting foir Disney.

DO NOT sell to anyone who contacts you via PM here. First, because selling is against board rules but mostly because there are a lot of internet scammers who will leave you high and dry.

Thanks for your opinions. I will take a cut, but no more than 10-15%. If I can't at least get 85% of what they are worth, I will keep them.

I see that on ebay. Why would anyone pay more than face value? I have never come up with a good working theory.

I often get $10 off $50 gift cards for EBay at Kroger through the checkout machine.

The $50 Ebay card is $40 at Kroger.
If I buy a Disney gift card for $51, I'm still $9 ahead.

I always assume it's for illicit transactions and stay SO far away from that stuff. It's ridiculous but I feel like just seeing it I'm gonna have a fed knocking at my door asking why I was interested in buying drugs or something!

Can you buy GC's off ebay and pay with an eBay GC? I thought they stopped that in 2016.

Never sold anything on eBay. I myself would be to afraid to buy a gift card off of there. But many do.

I wouldn't do it - and I have been selling/buying on Ebay for almost 20 years. I do not buy or sell gift cards there. I go to sites I trust - Cardpool, Raise, ABC Giftcards, Gift Card Zen.

I agree! I have used one of those sites to sell unwanted GC, can't remember which, but I do recall my return was better if I took payment in Amazon GC instead of cash. I can immediately add the Amazon card to my account, so I know it is good.

That is the route I'm gonna take. I just can't believe I wouldn't be able to use them in Paris.

I would find somebody I know (co-worker, friend) that has a Disney trip planned and ask if they want to buy them at a discount.
If not that, then Raise.

That is the absolute best option, but I know of no one that has a trip planned anytime soon. I really know of no one that has a trip planned soon, and I really have no friends that understand the love for Disney. I will probably try Raise.

I actually have bought Disney GC from Ebay. I'm very picky about who I purchase from though. I make sure they have all positive ratings and the post has to be nicely written. I've never had a problem with it. Typically, it's 10-15% off or I have an Ebay coupon code (or both).

See I wouldn't have any ratings, history or anything. Who in their right mind would purchase from me on eBay. I think I might try a locally, maybe Craigslist.

Hm. Yes. I agree. I probably wouldn't buy from someone without a history and good ratings. :-/ I'm surprised the Disboards don't have a forum that allows people to sell here. DVC members can sell points so why not allow gc sales?

There used to be one many years ago. The problem is that it can be hard to monitor and open to fraud. The DVC Rent/Trade board is closely monitored, has tight restrictions as to what can be posted and all "points for rent" posts must go thru board administrators before they appear on the board.

We once had a Disney trade thread on here (where people could trade Disney items that they no longer wanted in exchange for Disney items that they did want). In the long run, it died the same death as the stroller swaps when too many people began wanting Disney GCs for their stuff rather than a simple trade of items. And I remember one bad trader who would accept trades and then never send the items while receiving other stuff from members. They came back under a number of aliases before the trading thread died.

In the long run, I don't think the owners and administrators of this board have an interest in opening it up for sales and trades when there are other options available like Offer Up, eBay and Craigslist. They don't want to be put in a position of acting as an arbiter when a trade/sale goes bad. And although it is an extremely rare occurrence, they won't get in the middle of things if a DVC rental goes bad.

We have decided to do just one day trip to the park and not stay overnight and such. Too many other things to do in Paris. So I won't be selling them after all.

Tickets are much more affordable than here in the U.S., so we will just buy them in cash.
