Sell me on Owner's Locker

I'm traveling for business and spent some time responding to your post earlier....then I lost my connection so it didn't post. Dang! For now I'll just say that I think you will love your Owner's Locker.

Later I will try to post my list again. We have an amazing amount of stuff in our two lockers!

We store everything from flip flops, ponchos & umbrellas to spray fan bottles, backpacks, pool bags, batteries & lanyards to all of our "own" toiletries (including razors & a shave mirror for DH) to booze.
Wish you had posted on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning I was running around the house looking for my flip flops. I finally remembered where they were -- in my Owner's Locker! If I had read your post, it might have dawned on me more quickly. (I have a list of what's in my locker, but I look at the list when deciding what to take on a trip, not when looking for something I misplaced!)

I'm posting my list again, hopefully I won't lose my connection again. :goodvibes The following list is all in our First Locker, in our Second Locker (office in a box) is a laser printer, 2 flat screen monitors, 2 keyboards, etc.

Where can I get information on the DisBoard special for an Owner's Locker? Are they offering the 2 visits per year again? I remember it was offered last year, but then it changed so we didn't get it.

Oh, I just saw, it is only for the next 3 years. We won't be doing two trips a year until after the kids are out of college which won't be for 6 years, so this doesn't work for us right now.

Thanks

I know! It's absolutely amazing how much stuff will fit in a locker. I have to admit that we sit on it to get it closed.:rotfl: I truly cannot imagine not having our OL, it is such a convenience and makes our trips so much easier.

Our next trip we plan to take down a Mini Keurig so I will probably have to take home a few items to make room for it...............or, get a third locker! Yikes!

Just want to say Best Thing EVER!!!

Ok, maybe not EVER but you get the idea :goodvibes

Great product with even better guest service. How can you go wrong? :confused3

We have had our OL for a few years now as we are Founding Members (still jealous of those Blue-box-Beta-testers :upsidedow ). We discovered how much we have come to appreciate our OL the first time we travelled without it.

Convenience factor aside, just makes being "Home" feel more like "home".

The hubby and I are discussing this morning about signing up. We're both sold, but we do have one question and hope it doesn't sound to silly. What is considered a year. Example we're going to be there this year on Sept 26. We'll have the locker delivered to us and picked up at the end of our trip. I'm thinking we're going to book our next trip back next September, but probably a week before this years trip. Is that considered to be in the same year because technically we'll be there before the 26th of next September? Does this make sense? :confused3

Yes, it would be a year from the first delivery/pickup so if you return a week earlier next year it would still be within that year.

Enjoy!

And with Aulani starting sales shortly, could we possibly see and Owners Locker West starting up? ;^)

Only in your dreams, the shipping between VGC and Aulani would be out of sight!

For all of you that love your OLs, what will you do if you visit VGC and Aulani and everything you need is still in your OL in Orlando? We still can't justify buying double the items we need for a WDW and other vacations, but it is only the two of us and we often drive.

Thank you so much for the quick response! This is what I thought, but just wanted to make sure. :thanks:

I had a question similar to this yesterday as DW and I are going to make the plunge with OL.
It is a question that was not dealt with on their FAQ's, so thought I would throw it out here to clarify if anyone else has the same dilema.
We usually did the first 2 weeks in Dec, but last year was ALL of Dec leaving Jan 1. :cool1:
This year it will be Dec 8-27 (:cool1: again).
So I was wondering, if we sent the locker back on the 27th, that would be our Anniversary date, but what if next year we went home on the 28th, or later (Jan 1st, say).
That would put us into our next Ann'y year, no problem, but then the next year we went home on the 23rd, would that be considered twice in one year. :confused3
Please note, for this scenario, I am not taking into acoount the 2 free visits for 3 years, I am looking 3 years into the future after that is over, and only one free visit per year.
Phoned John at OL (super nice!) to ask, and he confirmed that your Ann'y date is the first time you send your OL back, but your subsequent "visit" dates are based on delivery of your OL to the resorts, not the pick-up date.
That's what was confusing me.
So all is cool, consider us another OL client. :thumbsup2 :yay:

I predict that 3 years from now you will have no concern whatsoever about your anniversary date. You will be so happy to have an Owner's Locker that you will not give a second thought to this issue. I have no idea when my date is. I just use my locker whenever I need it and let the credit card take care of the cost.

This is my concern too. We travel other places, and I use the same items for those trips as I do our WDW trips. I keep all of our travel stuff together, so where ever we go, it's all together and packing is easy.

DH and I have considered an OL many times, as it seems like it would be great for WDW. But it really would throw a wrench into our packing for other trips. We too would need to then have two of everything (one in OL, one home).

Curious what others do that have an OL and travel elsewhere.

TIA.

:) DH and I know we will always have one or two trips a year to Disney. Now I won't have to worry about extra luggage when we fly or lots of packing when we drive. Plus I want to be a DIVA and have my box brought to me in a little purple van......:rotfl:

Does it make me crazy if I say I want a luxury purple box to go with my luxury timeshare??

Absolutely agree :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We travel many other places every year .... 1000 Islands, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, etc.. and we just don't use the same things in those places that we use in Florida with the exception of sunscreen. We don't need rain ponchos, Disney Lanyards, a stash of alcohol :thumbsup2 , Disney guideboks and coupon books, etc. in those other places. I always have enough Bath and Body Works soaps/lotions for an army, so that doesn't matter either. Some of the small kitchen spices and herbs I buy in bulk and divide up in small containers, so that is not an issue. :cool2:

I'm also looking to be sold on OL. If we flew to WDW it would be a no brainer, but we typically drive. We have a WDW bin that we typically take with us that remains packed similar to OL. Granted, it would be nice not to have that room taken up in the SUV, but since we aren't worrying about checked luggage fees DH and I are having a hard time justifying the cost.

One more question I couldn't find an answer to - Does OL deliver to Port Canaveral for Disney Cruises?

Not to the Port, but they have made arrangements to deliver/pickup lockers at MCO or at other locations in the Orlando area. I'm sure that a call to John or Brian can result in a mutually convenient location.

They are all about service and are very eager to exceed expectations.

Thanks. That makes sense.

I guess I was not looking at the full picture. Right now, there are very few items I bring to FL that I wouldn't bring other places we travel to. But I guess if I had an OL, there would be many things that would be great to have in WDW, that would just be to much to pack each trip, so we just do without them.

Though I am still not sure the OL is right for us at this time, I will definitely pay closer attention to the items I leave home next time, that I planned on packing.

Thank you for the perspective. Exactly what I was looking for and couldn't get there on my own, lol. :thumbsup2
