I have ADR's at LTT for dinner one night during our stay.....this is the only ADR I didn't pick, my first and second choice for that day were unavailable, and I asked the CM for suggestions, and she said it is very nice, and there is character dinner. I don't want to offend anyone who loves this restaurant, but it looks kind of boring, and the write up I read in an (older) disney guide book I have sounds a little odd, something about it being centered around stoufers foods (called to mind boxed stuffing or something for me). Anyway, all you people who have been there, and hopefully loved it, tell me what's so great about LTT (or tell me what I should choose instead?!) We are a party of 7 - two grandparents, my DH and I and the kids 11, 8, 6 TIA

Personally, I wouldn't sell you on it. We went two years ago and was not impressed. The food did remind me of an old TV dinner and wait staff was in such a hurry to get us out we had little to no character interaction. Just my humble opinion.

Well Not sure that I can "sell" you on it, but My husband and I went last September and ate there for the first time and it was our favorite place by far......we also ate at hollywood and vine, Sci-Fi, Ohanas, Chef Mickeys, and a few other places. Liberty tree tavern had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed it VERY much..BTW we are going back this year to LTT!:goodvibes

It was just okay. When we sat down to make a list of what we would repeat this was not on the list. The theming is nice, but turkey and green beans and apple cobbler just wasn't exciting. The service was slow and there wasn't much character interaction. The whole food combo reminded me of the turkey tv dinner with the apple cobbler. It wasn't that it was bad, just there are so many better ones like Crystal Palace.

If this is what tv dinners taste like, give me more tv dinners!

LOL
No, it's really good. It was the one meal that I craved afterward.
I was worried that I wouldn't like it because we are used to "homecooking" and anything described as "like mom made" usually isn't.

But we, including MOM herself, really enjoyed it. The character interaction was great, they came around several times.

They even made sure our gluten free family members had platters of food just for them.

We hope to go back again.

Happy Planning!

Thanks for the input so far, we also have ADR's for Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, Coral Reef, Tusker House and Hoop De Doo. I had really wanted Chef Mickey for dinner that day, or O'Hana for breakfast, but those were the two I couldn't get, so Liberty Tree Tavern it was.....but I'm still not convinced. I think I am going to keep trying to get in at Chef Mickey, that is the one I really wanted, last year too, and didn't get it then either!!

We were just there in February and fell in love with it. It is now on our to do list each and every trip. The food was some of the best that we have ever eaten in Disney. You really should try it just once.

We went during MNSSHP and enjoyed it because the characters had Halloween masks on and they enjoyed that my DH was dressed as Walt Disney...we got ALOT of attention.

I like the theming of the place...it is small, but neat. The food is ok, but I don't expect much from any WDW place...we go for the magic and the fun. I actually prefer character meals because that is what WDW fun is to me, and this one did not disappoint...but, hey, I can be happy w/a tub of caramel corn from Sleepy Hollow and a Dole Whip float! I am a chef-level home cook and live in Chicago, I can have a gourmet meal anytime. Forget the reviews...go with an open mind and you will have fun!

I don't know if lunch quality is different from dinner, but we've only done lunch there and it's our family favorite. Love the crab cakes! The pot roast is pretty good, too.

I'm not going to be able to sell you on it either, but it was ok. If we would have paid of it OOP, we would have felt jipped by the food, honestly. The food was decent, but it is sponsored by Stouffer's. The character interaction was great though--that made up for any food issues--they all spent tons of time with us and were overly friendly. It was a good meal, overall!

We absolutely love it. Its the only restaurant that my boyfriend remembers by name (except Biergarten) and the only one he requested that we go back to this year. Its definitely food we don't get except around the holidays which is why we love it so much.

I LOVE the pot roast for lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't care for the dinner.
DH, on the other hand, loves the dinner more than lunch. So we typically do it twice each trip.......once for lunch for me and once for dinner for DH.

I think that you should try LTT. At this character meal, we got the best interaction we've ever gotten at any of the character meals. Goofy even got me to get up and do a dance with him :lmao: Anywho, the food is good,to me and my DBF at least it was NOT like a tv dinner... I think you should try it because you'll never know until you try it! Also im not sure which character is your childs favorite, but it's pretty neat because Chip and Dale are there, and they arent too many places as well as Goofy. :thumbsup2

LTT is really good! My family did it last year for the first time and loved it. THe food was very good, and the characters came to our table more than once! We are doing it again this year, but we also got in the CP for the first time and I have heard great things about it too!

It's our must do each trip! If I were to describe it, I would say it was simple comfort food. Dinner started with salad (light strawberry vinegrette dressing). Main course is stuffing with turkey, ham and flank stake. Mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and green beens. Cobbler for desert. The food is very filling and you can order more of any dish, or just one of the meat options.

Food is hosted by Stouffers, so if you have had their mac n cheese or turkey, you'll kind of know what the diners like. That said, our family loves this meal. The food is not dryed out or overcooked (if you are imagining dried out microwave food). Food is very tasty.

We have also found the character interaction to be awesome. The characters spend lots of time at the table and often play games with each other in the restaurant. For example, Dale signed my dd's autograph book first. Then, Chip signs and he draws and arrow to Dale's signature and writes "Chip is cooler than Dale." My dd was rolling with laughter. She then shows Dale, and he also adds a line. It was so funny.

Just go for it. You won't be disappointed. Our favorites are LeCellier, Kona Cafe, Park Faire, and PSB. We always leave LTT "stuffed" like Thanksgiving Day. Of course, it's nothing like homemade, but we think that it's great for a turkey dinner on a regular day.

we've done both, lunch and dinner

prefer lunch - no characters, crabcake appetizer, turkey dinner - nice cool break from heat and sun midafternoon!

We absolutely LOVED this place!!!

We loved the food. It was "normal" food (our palates are not very refined;) ) and there was plenty of it! Yes, Stouffers is a sponsor but I didn't think any of it tasted like "tv dinners".

The character interaction is really amazing. I've often read reviews from folks who said this was the best character interaction they've ever had. We had a great time and it was just me and DH. The characters came around several times and we just had a blast!

It's been awhile since our last visit but after we had dinner there, my DH insisted that we MUST go back every time we are at Disney...and it was the first ADR I made for our upcoming trip!

We did LTT last August with 7 people and no one had anything bad to say about the food and character interaction! It was wonderful! The food was all very good. The characters came around twice while we were there and were alot of fun. My two granddaughters, who never eat veggies, ate two bowls of the green beans each!!! The CM brought them each a bowl of their own and then refilled them!

We are going back this August, and it was the first on their list of resturants that they wanted to return to. Try it. That is the best way to know for sure.

We also enjoyed LTT. It was great for dinner at the end of a hot day. We just sat there and they brought us food. The food was good - and the characters kept the kids entertained. I have not been able to get an ADR this year so I was disappointed. We may try to switch our Tony's Town Square reservation when we are down there in order to dine at LTT.
