We own 600 points spread across 2 direct contracts : 150 VGF and 50 Poly
2 Resale : 240 BWV and 160 AKV

AKV seems to always be available at the 7th month mark for how we vacation, 2 Bed Villas, sometimes 1 Bed Villas Savannah View. CCV, however is not available. We have only owned AKV since 2020, is this normal with relation to availability?

We usually vacation in December either Christmas or New Years, would I get more use of my 11 month window with CCV?

I'd say the 11 month window is much more valuable at CCV. AKV is one of the easier ones to get at 7 months, especially Kidani. Holidays especially Christmas will be very hard to get at 7 months at CCV. By "hard" I mean "basically impossible". I'm sure it can be done with ninja level stalking, but you get the idea.

There will definitely be more money involved but its an upgrade for sure. We have 160 AKV as well. If someone wanted to swap for CCV Id be all over it :)

I am doing that now. I have 160 at AKV and a 175 at CCV. I am buying 150 at CCV and then selling off AKV. I loved my AKV time and will stay there in the future but and in the future CCV is more for me. The cost runs about 8k to make the switch but that's not bad over the length of the time I'll own the points

If you don’t book club Level or value at AKV I’d say the 11 month window don’t matter and would be more valuable at CCV.

I own a small contract at AKV and I use it strictly for studio club level or value during fall and Christmas and so far I have gotten them each time so no settling for less.

You say that CCV is not available at the 7 month mark.

I haven't paid much attention, but even if you owned at CCV, would it be difficult to book what you want at the 11 month mark?

I vaguely recall that it's the studios that are hard to book at CCV and you seem to be going for larger villas. But before I spent money to make the change, I would want to be sure that I would be able to use the points the way that I want. So if I wanted to travel at a particular time of year, I would want to know if resies typically have to be walked for weeks in order to get what I want. If the answer is yes, I personally would find that too stressful and wouldn't do it.

Also, I assume you have stayed at CCV. For me, Wilderness Lodge was not a good place to stay without a car. It seemed like you were near other hotels, but getting to them involved effort and I felt stuck. I'm used to the Epcot Resorts area, where you can easily walk to other hotels and EPCOT. (I know you are used to staying at AKV and you can't walk anywhere from there. I've stayed there also. But it felt different. At AKV you know you aren't right near anything. At Wilderness Lodge you feel like you're near things but you can't get there.)

We bought CCV resale recently, it was our first contract. We love it there. We just bought VGF this week. We really don’t NEED both contracts, the CCV one we were probably a little short sighted on and got too small of a contract, but I am not willing to give up 11 months at CCV during Christmas.

If you want to stay at the Lodge during Christmas season, you need to own there (CCV or BRV) and book at 11 months. There is no better place to be when the holiday decorations go up.

If you don’t book club Level or value at AKV I’d say the 11 month window don’t matter and would be more valuable at CCV.

I own a small contract at AKV and I use it strictly for studio club level or value during fall and Christmas and so far I have gotten them each time so no settling for less.
I have to try club level at least once, thanks!

We love our CCV however, keep in mind smaller square footage and sleeping capacity for 1 & 2 bedrooms is less as well, if those things aren't a deal breaker I say grab CCV, it really helps to have the 11 month advantage for booking.
