right.....
i braved the area of dealing, and have bought 5 shares thru selftrade.

now im confused :rotfl:

do i get anything specific to say i own the shares, or does it just stay in my selftrade account & say i have 5 shares.

now, i found the transaction details, saying how many shares, and price and name etc - is this what i need to print out, and send with my shareholder registration form?? if not, what do i have to send lol

any other pointers of what i should be doing, or if i need to do something to get actual paper shares (or whatever it is lol)

thanks

Confused (formally know as nikki!)

edit - also, i know u get discount on the restaurants, and understand that, if at eg annettes and paying total by half board meal vouchers (2 adults and 1 child meal) you couldnt do it, but if u had 2 adults and 1 child meal voucher, but ordered 2 adults and 2 child meals (again at annettes for example) would you get the discount?? also, if at cafe mickey, can we get discount, and then use the vouchers to pay part, and the rest cash???? confused??? i know i am lol
also - you can get discount at disney stores - is that just in store, or online too??

thanks - ill go away now n be quiet!

Is there anyway of requesting the certificate? They may charge you for doing so but then you could have something specific.

I beleive that they will accept the printout as proof that you own them, but I'm not 100%, hopefully someone else knows a little more

I recently bought shares on Selftrade and got my Shareholder card. I was sent (in the "messages" section of the Selftrade website) a PDF "Contract Note". I printed this out (though once it's printed it's not particularly obvious that it's a printout rather than something they might have sent you) and sent it in a posted application.

Selftrade also say that they will provide you with a written contract note on request (so best to email them if you want one). You definitely don't need to have a share certificate to get the shareholders card.

I'm not sure about your questions about discounts, sorry!

right- i found the contract, and printed out my membership form - had to put i dont know for what type of shareholder i am - *** i didnt know which it wud be & i guess they can sort out which i am?? lol

so - its just figuring out the discounts now.
*** i got the half board meal standard vouchers, so am just interested if, when we bought our meals, we cud spend a bit more (and buy our 2 1/2 yr old a meal, as he doesnt get a voucher) and get a discount off then take off the vouchers, and then pay the rest.
if we can, i think a visit to walts will be in order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone posted this in a trip report I read earlier and now can't find. What they said was to give the Waiter(ess) your discount card when you ask for the bill, then when they bring the bill over give them the vouchers, otherwise they use the vouchers 1st and then take off the discount on the remainder

aha - so it wasnt me imagining it - thought in the vagueness of my mind id read it - so thanks for the confirming :goodvibes

I'm still waiting to confirm my account with selftrade, just went to give them a call to see what I need to do to get my account pin number so I can transfer some money to them but they were closed :guilty: applied for an account over a week ago and they are supposed to be sending me a pack but I've heard nothing ! I can't wait to be a shareholder !!

Nikki, have replied to your PM, sorry only just read it, but you seem to have got everything sorted now. :goodvibes

In answer to your query on restaurant discounts, I'm sure I read a trippie where someone mentioned using vouchers and getting the shareholder's discount on the balance, but I can't remember who it was. :confused3

I've finally received my selftrade application pack ... can't wait to get the wheels in motion
