self serve in counter services

How do you use them for the regular dining plan? (1tbl, 1QS & 1 snk).Which option should i choose from these? http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Express-Ordering-1.jpg

Has anyone ever used them? Can you customise your order on them e.g. no cheese?
Please help when i went the CM i asked was very unhelpful and i was nervous about asking again

The regular dining plan includes 1 TS (sit down restaurant where you are waited on, keep in mind there are several TS "signature restaurants that require usage of 2 TS credits). 1 CS (which is counter service/quick service where you place your order, and take it to a table to eat, and clean up after yourselves), and 1 Snack (could be a bottle water, a soda, an ice cream, a bakery good).

You get all 3 things for each day the length of your stay.

However, you don't have to use each of the 3 each day. You can do combos. Example: you wanted to do on day 1 all CS ( you would use up a CS credit for breakfast, a CS credit for lunch, and another CS credit for dinner, at the end of day 1 you would be down 3 CS credits), and the next day TS. (you would use 1 TS credit for breakfast, say a Snack no lunch, then used 1 snack, and then for dinner a "signature" TS which is 2 TS credits, well that day you just used up 3 TS credits and 1 Snack credit.

It's basically, a "bank", an you need to use up the TS, CS, and snacks by midnight on the day you check-out, no refunds.

Oh, and yes you can "customize" anywhere, except the snacks.

When I used the touch screen ordering kiosks at Captain Cook's I was able to order the Adult Grilled Cheese without Blue Cheese, so doing something like that can be done.

I haven't used these automated ordering machines before, but I would choose the top-right button for Quick Service meal when it asks which dining plan option you require. That is assuming you are ordering a set of items that form a meal (entree and dessert of some kind, plus drink)

If you are just trying to order something as a snack, I would press the button marked snack plan, on the left hand side of the screen.

If you aren't sure, maybe ask another CM - I am really surprised you had a bad experience as they are normally very helpful in the food outlets from my experience. I'm sorry to see it has put you off asking. Put your faith in Disney pixie dust :wizard:, ask again if you need help, or perhaps ask someone else out there on vacation if they have used the machines before?

Hope this is helpful. If all else fails, go to a different counter service with humans to order from rather than machines :rotfl: But seriously, I am sure it will be fine.

Good luck! Let us know which was the right button :thumbsup2
