Seing fireworks from outside the park...

We're going down this weekend for my grandpa's funeral and we were thinking of stopping by Downtown Disney just to get the Disney feel. You can see fireworks from the hub right? I've been there so many times, but nearly always in the park. I want to say I went a few years ago and watched them from the hub though....

I can't think what hub in DTD you mean. But I have watched them from the open area between the two parks.

We sat in the esplanade (area between the 2 parks) & watched them.....you can't see the real low ones or the castle, but it was still a great place to catch them. I just wish they would pipe the music in during the show!

I believe you're thinking of the Esplanade between the two parks. Yes, you can see the fireworks from there. You can actually see them from just about anywhere in the area (we see them from our back yard ). But as DizNee Luver pointed out, you won't get the music or the low fireworks/castle effects. It's still a great show.

In addition to the areas already mentioned ...

For a really different perspective, you can go to the top of the M&F parking structure and see them from there. Again, no music. The timing would be way off plus you are looking at things from the side and the affects aren't the same.

I hope this doesn't get me in trouble, but the parking lot at Mimis in front of Hojos. We always walk to the parking lot to watch the fireworks while staying there. Though Hojo has a parking gate, Mimis does not.

Plus you can always do it legit and eat dinner there or grab some muffins to go!

Really, the high fireworks are so high you can see them from miles away. That said, I have seen people pull over on the 5 to watch them, and I'd call that a really, really bad idea.
