Segways

True - under normal circumstances. But add in all of the distractions at WDW and this is still a disaster waiting to happen. I consider myself an expert walker ;) and I know I have been distracted several times at WDW and didn't pay attention to where I was going. Fortunately the result was only a slight bump and a red-faced apology from me. Put a segway in the mix and the consequences would be far more severe.

As someone who has tried the Segway, I agree with everyone above that have reservations about them being used in the parks during normal hours.

Usually the Segways are equipped with speed governors that prevent them from going faster than a few miles an hour (I think the fastest stock ones are about 12mph).

However, the first thing I think of when considering the use of Segways for the public, is the use of strollers in the park. How many times have you been rammed in the back of the ankles by someone not paying attention to where they are going while pushing a stroller? Would you want to be in front of those same people on a Segway? Not me!

Even if the Segways are reduced to slow speeds, they are very heavy. They would hurt more than a stroller!

The tour is a neat idea, but having Segways for the public in any of the parks during hours ain't gonna happen!
