I don't want anyone to get mad at me but why pay to go on a Segway tour? It sounds like paying to test drive a car; is it a tour for people who are interested in buying a Segway? If yes, the tour should be free. Just wondering....

No, it's just another recreation option - using some cool technology that most people who take it won't have access to any other way.
I'm not interested in buying a boat, either, but that doesn't stop me from renting a Searacer every time I go to WDW and enjoying my little 30 minute tour. The Segway tour is in the same category - something fun and out of the ordinary to do, and to be able to say you've done.
No the tour is not for people interested in buying a Segway, although I guess some may be. It is just plain fun! I have done the one at Epcot and one in the Bahamas and loved them both, although the Bahamas was much cooler since we went off-road, through the Botanical Gardens and Fort Charlotte. Segways are a lot of fun and it is something you don't have an opportunity to try very often. They are also a little tricky at first, it takes a bit to get used to them.
My husband and I do Segway Tours wherever possible. So far that's at Epcot, Bahamas and in Paris. We just love riding them and it's a fun way to sightsee at the same time.

Not so fast there on the judgment, friend. If you are not in pretty good shape to begin with, a Segway tour will work some muscles you forgot you had. It's not just a scooter that allows you to sit and steer - you have to stand and use your normal sense of balance. The Segway is adjusting to you, not just motoring you around. My leg and calf muscles could really feel it the next day!!!

Ditto this. The tours also contain a lot of interesting information, some of which Disneyphiles will already know, but some of which is new to everybody. I really enjoyed both tours I've done (Epcot and Ft. Wilderness).

I wasn't passing judgement, hence the "to each his own". I've seen Segway tours offered at just about every cruise port I've ever been to, and many resorts offer them too. I personally don't see what the big deal is. It's not something I would spend my money on. I wouldn't be offended if someone said that riding a bike around was no big deal.
