This may not be the right forum for this question so I apologize in advance.

My hubby and I just had our 20th anniversary yesterday and we are thinking about celebrating it next week when we go to WDW by doing the Segway tour. Has anyone got any tips or thoughts about it? I am am concerned because I am a little chunky monkey and I don't know if there are any restrictions on weight or body habitus (shape- I am a pear!! LOL).

Thanks in advance for any help!

As there are only 10 places on the tour at a time (2 tours a day) the places book up very quickly so you might not be able to get on it at such short notice. I would phone to check ASAP. That said if there is availability then the weight restriction in 250lb.
We did the tour during Christmas week (we booked our places in the March before we went) and had a great time. The tour is such fun, especially when you get to go around the world showcase and have fun swerving around the different bits of the countries.

First - congrats on your anniversary - Yesterday was my husbands and mine 20th Anniverssary also... I have this tour booked for our April trip - and I am not the most coordinated person there and a little pear shaped myself.... so I would really be interested in hearing about your experience when you return....have a great time!!!! :moped:

DH and I did the Segway tour for our 20th in Nov. We loved it. I am also pear shaped. I am so uncoordinated that my sister says my mom named me Grace as a joke. That being said, I had no major problems. I ran into a curb once but had no problem getting back on. DH loved it and his only complaint was that it wouldn't go faster!

We did the Segway tour in October, and it was the highlight of the trip. I am the least coordinated person on the planet, and I handled it with no issues. :thumbsup2

If you want details, you can read about it in the trip report in my signature. The One with the Segways and no paperwork.

Say hi to LeMonte for me! :wave2:

I read your trip report months ago and it helped me decide to sign up for a tour in March. My family is thinks I am nuts though!!!! My daughter says it might be worth another trip for her just to watch me... :confused3

Yes, I did the Segway tour last May and it was awesome. We really had a great time. :) They teach you how to ride the Segway (it's easy) and then take you around the World Showcase. Part of it is a free ride where you have a small area to do whatever you want in, the rest is a guided ride. I'm a heavy girl and I had no problems. I'm not sure if there is a limit or not, but I was fine.

Remember to wear sunblock!

for our May trip. When I learned there was a weight limit of 250Ibs. I told DH he needed to go on a diet. :rotfl2: That didn't go over very well.

He is over 6'2 and weighs right at 260. Do they actually weigh you and if you are over the limit, do they let you continue or do they tell you no, and refund any money?
:confused3

If he's 10 lbs over the limit, I doubt they would notice. I didn't see anyone getting weighed. I'm pretty heavy, but not in the 200's. I did see a few people on my tour who were probably around that though. No one seemed to have a problem.

I just did the segway tour last week. I posted a detailed report of it here on this forum. I think it's on page , but you can also just type in "segway" in the search feauture for this forum and get others reports as well. We loved it! Book early! And don't turn into a wall and accelerate! The Segway will attack you!

It's great fun, I did it twice last year. Even if they are booked when you call, don't give up all hope. The cancellation period is 48 hours, so keep calling, you might still get a spot.
