stacilee- Yeah, your husband will love it! My wife and I took the tour on May 4th. I wasn't sure if she would like it... She LOVED it!
We entered EPCOT through the back entrance from BCV. They didn't have a list of Segway riders like they do for the Princess Breakfast, but they allowed us through.
The group met at the Guest Services right by Space Ship Earth- NOT Guest Services outside the turnstiles as we were directed by the front desk at BCV...
As the experience begins, you go into a small A/V room and watch a short video graphic on the Segway. They give you your helmets to wear the entire time. If you have an extra large head, don't be afraid to ask for something bigger- they have them. You learn how they work, how to get on, to turn, to get off, and how start and stop them. They constantly emphasize safety. Then you go into an adjacent area of the Innoventions hall. The Segways are lined up against the wall and each person takes one and receives personal attention as you familiarize yourself with the controls by driving through a small course of little traffic cones.
Then it's off to the outside through the door closest to the land. If you and the kids were there at 5 of 10, you could see your husband come out for a short uphill/downhill test in the art garden, and then for a bathroom break. Wait by the roped off music theater area outside, where the school kids sing.
Then it's off to the World! We rode a little path through the Chinese gardens to test our handling skills. Its kinda like "follow-the-leader"- then through the German pavilion and a slalom course through the marble columns of Italy. Then we stopped in front of Italy for another break/photo op. Your tour guides are happy to take pics of you or the entire group with your camera. You can also take this chance to see what the Segway will do... We drove through the narrow garden paths of the American pavilion, through Japan, and the "backstreets" of Morocco!
If you get back to the bridge at about 10:50, you'll probably get to see your husband in the Segway parade back to Innoventions.
The Segways come equipped with a large storage bin that will easily accomadate cameras, or small backpacks.
I think the tour would be a great surprise gift and probably the highlight of his trip!
