Just got back from a wonderful week at the parks. Stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. It was great. Rooms are nicely done.

My wife and son joined me last Sunday morning for the Segway tour at Epcot. It was fantastic. I recommend it for everyone. But only if you are 16 or older and under 250 lbs.

The tour started at 9:00 and we had about 45 minutes of training. Once you get over the initial adjustment of how to balance yourself, it goes really smooth. The best way is just to relax. The machine does the work for you.

We started some little movements and turns in a room. Turning is so easy. The instructors were very good and made everyone feel at ease. You see them standing on them and you just know you can do it to. My wife was really nervous, but she adapted very quickly. She is 5-1 and I think being a little short is an advantage. She rode better than I did at the start.

About 10:00, we rode out into the park and on to World Showcase. Our guides took us on little tours of the countries. The would also give us some behind the scenes information about the country or architecture, etc. Was nice getting some background info during the ride. Some repeating guests said that some tour guides don't do that. So we must have had the best.

I recommend this tour to everyone who can chew gum and walk at the same time. They are so fun to ride. Takes very little effort to move. Plus they will not go very fast anyway and you wont go out of control.

The cost is $80 per person, but with an AP, you get 15% off. I think they give 10% off with AAA. Cost us $68 each with our AP discount.

We plan to do it 2 times next year. A couple of people were able to on short notice, but I recommend you book it in advance. They only take 10 per group. The tour guides said they may expand it to 2 classes, but that has not happened yet.

When the tour is over, you have to ride back into future world and its funny to watch the other guests reactions. Someone actually said we must be lazy....lol...

It was just plain fun....:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
