Wow I've been off these boards for a long time (months) and now I see all these threads on how CMs at check-in are confused about the segmented DDP.

Please review our situation and tell me how many keys to ask for, what to say to CM in case a problem comes up, and the number for DVC satisfaction in case I have to call while standing there.

We're checking into AKV Kidani on 12/19 for 3 nights. We have 2 separate studios.

We have the DxDP for 12/19 to 12/21. We have no dining plan for 12/21 (checking out 12/22).

I made these reservations in May 2010.

On my DVC member account on the website, the Reservation shows as follows:

Reservation 123456789123 (example)
Check in 12/19
2 nights, 3 days
Name of Adult, Name of Adult
Deluxe Dining Plan

Reservation 123456789123 (same as the DxDP reservation)
Check in 12/21
2 nights, 3 days
Name of Adult, Name of Adult
Room only

(1) Was this reservation booked correctly?
(2) Will they give me 2 separate keys for the segments?
(3) Will I get to stay in the same room (esp b/c the reservation # are the same, fingers crossed)?

Thanks so much!

My first concern when looking at your 2 segments is that you are checking in for segment 2 on the 21st with checkout on the 22nd but the details say for 2 nights. If this was just a typo on your post then it looks to me that all is well.

You have the deluxe dinning for the 1st segment and no dinning for the second segment. With having the same reservation # and the DP on the first segment you may not even have to check in again. This is the question everyone is asking. How is the check in process going to happen, do you have to go to the front desk for every segment. Hopefully we will have the answer soon.

On my late October split DDP stay (2 on 4 off) at SSR. They did not know of the last 4 days at check-in. (Although I had different reservation numbers due to waitlists, and it seemed MS passed the first part under my name and the 2nd part under DW)
When checking in for the 2nd part, the front desk fought the computer system a long time to keep me in the same room. I just stood there smiling because staying in the same room is all I needed to stay happy. Well the wait was long enough that DS needed a trip to the boys room, I asked if I could come right back. Then when I got back, they said they were taking too long and they surprised me with a $100 room credit!
So I did have to deal with a 2nd set of room keys (I've heard that may be a requirement until the systerm upgrade in 2011), but I really enjoyed the DDP flexibility on that stay.

I noticed the same thing about that 2nd segment.

I double checked and it's weird...that's what it says. 2 nights, 3 days for both segments.

I'll call at lunch today and ask them to double check it....
