Yep, I agree! I hardly ever hear of people that I know personally going to Disneyland. In fact harldy anyone I know has been to DL. They usually go to WDW. (not sure why the weather is SO much better and less hot/humid in CA). I am glad to be going to DL. I have not been there since I was 12 AND we are going to San Diego for the first time! I used to work at WDW in college and I loved it but I am very excited to go to California and go back to the ORIGINAL DL.



[I think for those visiting next week (myself included), you have to remember it's called a vacation for a reason. Go and relax, and have as much as you can. If there are crowds, big deal. You'll still have a great time regardless. IT'S DISNEYLAND! Go get get a fast pass for space mountain, take a picture with mickey, grab a dole whip, catch the fireworks and have a great time!

I am going on the 18th for my fifth anniversary with boyfriend so I am kind of worried if it is packed, but then again I expect it will be less packed then the time I went on July 24th.

I too figured it was going to be somewhat busy the time we're there, March 26-31st. DD & I are going thinking that it's going to be crowded, although not summer crowded, that way we won't be surprised.

We're hoping/planning on going on every ride and seeing the majority of the shows (maybe not Fantasmic) We are going to be there 5 full days, so I'm confident that we'll succeed. If not ~ we'll still have a great time trying

Hopefully we'll all be pleasantly surprised at the crowds!

I agree 100%! We have plans for when it gets too busy : pin trading, penny presses, Downtown Disney, Souvenier shopping, going back to the hotel to swim & rest.

Spring break is a tough time, I am sure. But dang!!! My family definitely is due for a vacation, and my son needs a break from "reality" (aka : school) for a few days.

Disneyland is so magical, we even forget where we are. Blue sky, Sunshine, and the magic of the parks! A dream come true!!

Our biggest problem with going when its busy is we want to ride so many things more than once! We went last week and it wasn't "busy" but it was too busy for the way we like to tour. Its hard to give up riding Space Mountain five times in a row but when the waits are 40 minutes a pop the best you can do is twice...get a fastpass, wait in standby, then use the fastpass. Sure, you could get another fastpass, but what about Indy? What about Splash? What about Big Thunder? There are six rides in DL and two in DCA we'd ride six or seven times each day we're there. Kinda hard to do that and see anything else when there are wait times of even 30 minutes, which aren't long wait times but too long for that!

Makes me wish everyday was like the Saturday I went in February...rained all day so the crowds were ridiculously light and I rode 50+ times. Pure bliss! Wet bliss, but still bliss!

But if it is your kids' Spring Break... there are others on Spring Break too. (sorry to be the one to say it).

It will be busy. As stated above, probably not as busy as the week after, but I would expect crowds - then you will just take it in stride as opposed to being in shock.

Of course there will be others on Spring break...I think we all realize this, but the poster I quoted below says it perfectly that they are more spread out because easter falls later in April. That is why there is no way I would have gone last spring break, or no way I will go next year. I would rather deal with some peoples' spring break, than EVERYBODY's spring break!

Luckily for people going to DL next week, Southern California schools don't get spring break until April (look at the operating hours then). You'll probably see in increase in crowds the next two weeks, and then a big jump going into April. Last year was very unique, many schools spring breaks were concentrated around one time because of the early Easter Holiday. Things are MUCH more spread out in 2009.

I totally agree. I don't even think it will be as bad as it could be!!! But I am totally preparing for busy though. I am going expecting summer crowds...totally manageable.
