Seeking info about Simpsons Ride

I am SO excited about this ride, but I can't find any info about what it's all about. Will it be a roller coaster, thrill ride, etc...

From what I heard and little I've read it uses the BTTF systems with new video and some cosmetic things but I am getting 3rd hand information and it could be wrong

(& played the game-Senator Pants Suit )
but I couldn't find details about the actual ride. So, is it a simulator like the old Back to the Future Ride or Jetsons Ride?

I haven't been to US in so long, but given that theres a new Simpsons ride, I'm determined to take time away & go during our next WDW trip!!

BTW, do they actually have Simpsons characters walking around the park for character meets??

Mostly it will be very similar to Back to the Future as it is using the same building that BTTF used to be in.

Yes, characters are already out and about in many places (sometimes too many at the same time!)
