Seeing the World with a Multi-Generational Family

Loving your trip report so far. You have put in a lot of thought to ensure everyone is happy.

I completely felt your sincerety concerning the matching tshirts. It's too bad your bro mistook the effort. I would have been on the opposite spectrum...overthought the situation and ended up not doing them for anyone.

We have only traveled as a family of 4. I want to go with others but it really scares me. Add to the fact that we haven't really found anyone to travel with.

I'm along for the ride. Looking forward to the next posts.

(3) I am mystified by the Motley Cruise folks who have been packing for the cruise for weeks already, because how do they have that many things in their wardrobe? I have about 2 pairs of capris that I actually like wearing, so if I packed for Disney now I would be pants-less for the next week. (These are what are in the wash right now.) Do they have a whole separate cruise wardrobe?

A lot of people buy some new clothes for vacation. Or if they are like me don't get to wear capris and shorts and tshirts to work, so it's easier to put them aside. The last two years we have gone in early June, and the kids were just getting out of school so I would have been buying summer clothes and putthing the clothes away from them. This year, they will likely have worn most of the clothes because we don't leave until mid-July. I also use a big vacation as a time to purchase new underwear and socks.

And I'm glad you like my PTR name!

Almost forgot...your kids are absolutely adorable!

Loved catching up on your train trip, arrival day and day 1! I felt so bad for Maurice (my DS28 had injured his finger from probably a splinter and it had gotten infected before we left for our trip to WDW the week after Thanksgiving 2010. He lives in CA and had visited a urgent care facility all alone and the docs had given him an antibiotic that nearly killed him! His throat swelled up, he couldn't breath or call out to someone and luckily a nurse passed by his room & they immediately gave him an counter IV drip. He has since had 2 strange infections and now has MRSA. On our trip before he found out he had MRSA, his finger was in alot of pain and he had only 2 antibiotic pills left to last 6 days. I suggested he go to an urgent care there but he refused since he has no health insurance. Long story short - I'm so glad that Maurice got quick medical care).

Loved the story about Splash Mountain and the bribary :lmao: I'm glad that your DS loved it and hoped your DD would have too. Thanks for sharing your review of the Autotrain and sharing pics! I would love to try that on our next trip (we live a little south of Lorton, VA so it wouldn't be far to go to get on board the train). Can't wait to read more!
