Seeing Disney through a child's eye

What a beautiful post.

I know exactly what you mean. I never went to Disney as a child and always wished to go. So, when I became a parent it became my mission to take my children there. This year we finally did it. They are 8, 7, and 3.

The very first thing we did was ride the monorail all the way around. When we turned the corner and saw Cinderella Castle there in all it's glory I looked at my babies' faces and practically wept. That was such a priceless moment. I loved watching their expressions as they met their favorite characters, and rode the rides we had been talking about for months. It was the best vacation we have ever been on and we have talked about it every single day since we got back well over a month ago.

I cannot wait to go back and have all new experiences and make new memories.

We took DD for the 1st time in April 2003 at 2 1/2.. It was so magical!!! I cried and cried! LAst year she and I did a mommy - daughter trip and it was awesome! We are headed back over Thanksgiving with my parents and brother and I can't wait to do it with 3 generations... ! :flower:

I am so excited for our trip in March since this is a trip to celebrate the adoption of 2 children into our family. We are adopting 2 boys (6 & 8, not related to each other) who have come to us out of our state's foster care system. They haven't had the opportunity to travel at all and we let them choose where to go on the trip. They didn't have any ideas so our other boys, who've been numerous times (they're 7 & 12) helped them pick WDW. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I can't wait to see their faces as they experience all the new things, from flying on the planes, staying at a resort, being in the parks and, of course, meeting the characters!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo I'll be tearing up for sure! :cold:

Oh wow! That's gonna be so great! I'm sure they'll have a great time but I bet you'll have an even better time watching them experience all the excitement.

Congratulations on the adoptions. What a great thing! (DH and I have talked about that but are still in the discussing stages right now!)

Thank you for all your beautiful posts! Several of them had me in tears. DH thought I was nuts last year when I cried during Playhouse Disney!

Part of my emotions stem from it taking us 6 years and lots of medical technology and money to have a child. The last few times we went to Disney (just the two of us) were very painful as I thought I would never share it with my own child. We had actually planned a Disney trip when our last attempt worked. Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip because the same time I found out I was pg, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and had to have surgery.

So now that I have my own child, it makes it all so much more special. I wish my mom had lived to go to Disney with us. She loved everything Disney and would have had so much fun with dd.

Thanks again for sharing your stories and emotions. It's what makes Disney and the people who love it so magical :earsboy:

Thank you for this post! I enjoyed reading about viewing WDW thru a childs eyes. I am so happy to be accompanying my grandaughter, who will be four. I thought that I was the only one who wants to enjoy watching her meet all of her "friends" who live in DIsneyworld. I cannot wait, and love to hear everyones stories.

Disney is a very special place for me, my Mom and I took our first trip there when I was in college and then we took several vacations with my mom, my husband and me. They are such wonderful memories. This trip will be bittersweet as my Mom passed away 2 years ago. It will be our first trip with our daughter who will be turning one. I cant wait to share the magic with her like my mom did with me. I know I'm probably going to be crying the whole time.
