I have read the other threads concerning these pins but none of them seemed currnet. I will be going to DL next week and plan to do alot of trading. I just bought a 20 pin lot off e-bay and of course they turned out to be sedesmasa pins. My question is has anybody traded these to CM's recently? If so where were you? Thanks.

I just did the same thing and got those sedesma pins as well.... are they legit?? They are much smaller than the ones my daughter now has. I bought them for her for Christmas as I do every year so she can have lots to trade. Did I get ripped off???

We trade a lot of pins at DW and they are not that picky but DL is very picky about the pins they trade.

Most people pay $5-$10 for their pins at the park and they don't want to trade for a $1 ebay pin.

Some CM take it very seriously, don't be surprised if they give you a lecture or won't trade at all.

I would recomend checking you local Disneystore for pins sets or even the parks have some good deals on sets.

If we all trade junk that will be the end of Pin Trading.

Sedesma pins, while a lower quality than other pins, are licensed by Disney and carry the Disney backstamp. They are licensed and tradeable. CMs may not be happy, but they are licensed, legal pins.

Speaking of people that won't be happy, I think you'll want to add other pin traders to that list...

Pins are expensive! It is OK to trade a pretty much equal value pin for an equal value pin, but not to downgrade! My son traded for a Nemo pin. The minute I saw it on the lanyard I ask him to take it off... it just did not look quite like Nemo should. It was the Sedesma (sp.) stamped pin! No way! We went right back and traded it immediately for another pin. They are absolutely junk, even if stamped Disney, and I would never accept one!

My kids have traded for them...yuck!

We no longer even try to trade them back. They make great thumbtacks, though.

I did not say I traded Sedesma pins - if you have a beef with the quality of licensed pins, then I think that should be taken up with Disney. I agree that they are terrible quality. But they are licensed and they are tradeable.

They are terrible quality.

I guess you've never had children who WANTED that Sedesma pin because it worked in their collection. Don't assume that everyone has the same pin tastes.

I guess beauty is in the eyes of the pin trader! As long as they are ligit (even if serious pin traders won't trade for them), and as long as my daughter likes them, then I think I'll give them to her. I'll probably get more that are of the better quality as well, but hey, if it puts a smile on her face, and she likes them, I'm happy if she's happy! Thanks for the info. :upsidedow

I read in a previous thread that CMs are now starting to not accept Sedesmas. But I'm not sure if there's been anything officially announced or not. Just what I read in another thread.

I'm not sure how I implied that I thought you traded the pins in my short sentence, and I'm definitely not trying to start "beef" with anyone either... I'm not sure where the animosity is coming from... :confused3

I could go on forever, but what quality pins someone puts on cast lanyards is their business. Sedesma pins, though not authorized by Disney are still cheaper than pins bought off the rack. However, most other pin traders put a lot of money into pin trading because it's very easily an expensive hobby. My interpretation is that the pin traders that don't favor Sedesma pins for their collections won't appreciate Disney continually raising their prices on pins since they have to discard so many pins meant for trading. I believe in karma, so it's not something I would use as a trader, but like some other posters mentioned, they are tradeable.. for now anyway.
