Security - Walkway Contemporary to MK

Is there an “opening” time for the walkway to MK? If MK opens at 9 can I use the walkway at 6:30am to watch the sun come up in front of MK? If not, any suggestions of where I can do this at Contemporary overlooking the lake? Not necessarily looking to see the sun, just want to see the sky turn from dark to light. (Celebrating the little things this trip.)

Easywdw reporter recently that guests at CR might consider being in line at security right at 8 so you’re ready when it opens. He didn’t explicitly say, but it sounds like the walkway opens significantly later than 6:30 at this time.

Sky bridge? Fire escape? 4th floor observation deck?

For sunrise, you can’t beat the spots below in the red circle. The area in front of that little sandy part between BLT and CR has several chairs and is a fantastic place to watch the sun rise over Bay Lake. It’s one of the most peaceful/zen moments of the day you can find on property.



This photo below was taken on the other side of BLT (from the running path), not the spot I’m suggesting above, but same angle and indicative of the morning view over Bay Lake.

If you are at CR, the sun comes up over the lake side of the resort (facing WL). If you want to see sunrise, and you aren't staying at the hotel, you'd want to be over by the quiet pool.

If I was not staying at CR, and I wanted to get there, I'd pay for an uber or a taxi. If you are staying on WDW property, it doesn't cost much. If you are staying at CR, the view from the BAY LAKE side of the hotel is what you want, just get up in time for sunrise and you'll be all set. If staying on the theme park side- go out by the quiet pool, or go out on the 4th floor balcony, or just go out by the Bay Lake Tower (DVC) walkway. The view from balcony and the walkways is really nice.

If you are looking to get a picture of the sun and MK, I'd say sunrise isn't likely to be spectacular.

Within MK, a beautiful morning shot is to be found from the bridge that's right next to Sleepy Hollow. Even if you can't be there at exactly down, it is a very pretty morning shot.
