Security screening and babies

Does anyone know if they allow you to wear your baby in a carrier through security like you can at the airport?

I'm interested in both embarkation and when boarding at various ports. It makes it so much easier to wrangle stuff, but not if I have to get her in and out in the tight spaces that are security lines.

If you're going to try, use a fabric-only wrap. no buckles, no metal, no snaps. So something like a Moby Wrap.

I'd also try to reduce the amount of stuff to wrangle.

We wore our toddler in an Ergo last month...no issues at all. They just wanted anything metal out of the pocket.

I would think a SSC would be okay. I might just use my wrap at that point, but the Ergo would be much easier for ups and downs, since he will turn 2 on the cruise.

Thank you for your responses. My daughter will be 18 months so we are definitely doing buckles for quick ups. I am trying on new carriers tomorrow, but most have plastic and not metal buckled. The only metal on the carriers I'm looking at are zippers on the pocket on the outside. You can see it and it is no more metal than the zippers in jeans.

I wish I was good at reducing the stuff to wrangle. I don't plan on too much and plan to check as much as we can. We are driving to port though so I don't have airline regulations to keep my packing under control. Plus FEs on top of toddler gear may do me in.

The good news is we will be 4 adults to one toddler so that should help.

We carried baby in the ergo and out all the bags in the stroller. Worked perfectly

Ergo carrier was fine the whole time. I think we only took her out when they took the pic for her card at check in.

My son turns two during our cruise. I completely expect to use my Ergo. We have three adults to three children, but I am making my eldest (8) carry his carry on. Then, I'll wear my son, and put the rest in the stroller. Hopefully that will work. Maybe bring an extra stroller for the stuff? lol
