Security Question for MM

We love to be at the gates early for MM and have often been one of the first in line at the Security tables. My questions are, what tables do you think are closest to the actual gates? Which are likely to be more crowded? The ones at DTDisney or the ones near Harbor?
Also, are any of the restaurants open by 6am in DTDisney?

Sounds like we should be asking you that if you are often one of the first in line.

I've never done the DTD gates so I don't know but I haven't had an issue with the other ones.

Unfortunately we are never at the front of the line at the actual gates! I guess i would really just like to still be close to the front of the line, but maybe sleep in an extra 10 minutes?

I have never seen anything in DTD open at 0600 but could be wrong. We have never been first in line, maybe 3rd, but never understood why we would need to be. Entrance goes very quickly from our expereince and usually at PP within the first 10 people at PP without running.

From my experience and others it seem that what security table opens first and which side is more or less random.

I would think that the security tables on the Harbor side would be less busy, because it's only people with 3+ day hoppers who get MM coming from that side. Which seems like it would be a lower number than the onsite people.

But you just never know what turnstile is going to be open....

From my experience, people tend to go to the closest security table in their line of vision. If you look to the left (from Harbor) and to the right (from DTD) to see if those tables are open, they often have shorter lines. I always just eyeball it to see which ones are open and which ones have fewer people at them. They one in DTD gets all the parking structure people since that's where the shuttle drops them off, plus anyone from the Disney hotels. The one on Harbor gets any hotel shuttles, the Toy Story lot bus, and the ART bus, plus the Harbor hotel people. So, it's a toss up.

You won't really have a choice which side to go to--just which table on that side, depending on where you're coming FROM in the morning.

Our trip will include MM hours on March 24, 25 and 27 and I'm planning to drag my teenager along, :lmao: anticipating very busy parks during our stay. But, if MM start at 7:00, what time should we actually be at the security tables to be in the first group of guests?

Would you expect MM mornings to be SUPER popular because of Spring Break during our stay? Or does the sleep-in win over for most and it won't be busy?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I make it a priority to get to the security gates about 30 min before the gates open (with DW and DD that ends up being 15-20 min early). It should give you enough time to get through security and into the turnstile line before gates open.

The first week of December we stayed at PPH. I remember the juice place in DTD was open when we were walking to security. I like to be at security an hour before park opening so that would mean the juice place was open at 6am.
